Spring 2023: We've hired Meca before and we were very happy with the work they did. We had them come out for an estimate on trimming up a large tree. Meca is always on time for appointments and extremely knowledgeable about trees. We were informed that we would need to wait until fall to trim the tree because otherwise we would risk killing or causing harm/disease to the tree (I believe that's what he said). Update Nov 2023: Now in the fall. Meca's crew is amazing and he runs a smooth team. Living in the city with buildings so close to each other the only option is from the men to climb the trees. It is so exciting and amazing to watch them. We live on a single lane one way street. They collected the branches at the end of the driveway and once they were done trimming they temporarily blocked the street at the top as they had to move their wood chipper truck down which blocked the street. They were very speedy to get all the branches in and unblock the street. For our side of the tree there were about 6-7 guys and the trimming itself took about 30 minutes and tree chipper/cleaning another 20min. Our neighbor also trimmed their side of the tree and an even taller tree and there were about 8-9 guys on that day. Again, very smooth and time efficient project/process. They clean everything up very well too. I highly recommend Meca and his crew. Also, he said it should be about 5yrs before it needs another trimming to keep the tree off of the building. I am EXTREMELY impressed with Meca Tree Service (and I'm very picky). A huge rain stormed moved across Chicago on Sunday around 3pm, breaking 2 large branches of a huge oak tree in my backyard, the branches were so large they covered half of my large backyard. I emailed Meca via Yelp around 4pm and by 6pm a Meca employee and his son showed up to access the damage. Promising they would return the next morning at 7am to remove the fallen branches, at a very reasonable price. Maca tree service trimmed a large maple tree in my yard, they dug out a stump from an old juniper bush, they trimmed a front juniper bush, and trimmed side hedges that were quite tall. The service was excellent and the crew was polite and knowledgeable. Manny (Meca) led the team and told them exactly where to cut the larger branches on the tree so that the tree ended up looking like a tree and not a stump. It looks wonderful now and there are no branches hitting any of my electric lines, hitting my house, or hitting my neighbors and my garage. I was very pleased with all the work they did. I was especially pleased that none of the six apple trees in my yard were damaged in any way, shape or form. I was also very pleased with the price that I paid. Great price and great service. Meca is my man. I just bought a house and my backyard is lined with trees and shrubs that we needed removal for our fence to be installed. Took one day to schedule estimate and he came the next day. He informed me of some dead/dying trees and so we went ahead and removed those too. The day of removal his crew came on time and worked quickly and efficiently. No mess was left behind! He also asked if I wanted to keep one of the trees because it was an expensive one which I thought was so considerate. The service I had used for over 10 years went out of business. Based on the Yelp reviews I called Meca. As advertised I got a call back within 10 minutes and had the owner and his son stop by within a couple of hours to give me a quote. It was within $50. Of what I had estimated based on previous work done. That was on a Friday. They were back the following Tuesday to do the work. They got all the tree and bush trimming done within an hour ( the team had 5 workers plus the owner). They did a great job of trimming and balancing out the limbs. Removed a large Blue Spruce tree and stump today. Couldn't be happier with their service! The whole crew was wonderful, Mike, Manuel, and Adrianna(office). Because of rain and lightening they had to reschedule a couple days later and were promp and on time. The even trimmed a Crab tree at no additional charge. They were less expensive than an estimate we got from another company that we had used for another tree a few years ago.
