Great service, well trained employees and operators who stayed on the job until all work was completed, cleaned up the area fast loaded up their equipment and moved on to their next job. Highly recommend! read more

We've used A1 tree service several times over the years. Sy and his crew ALWAYS go above and beyond. We have 2 huge Silver Maples so the task isn't easy. Each time, the end result exceeds all expectations. You really can't go wrong with them read more

We have had A1 Tree Service out at our house four times now in the 13 years since we bought our home to do all kinds of work, from whole tree and stump removal to periodic tree trimming. I can't recommend them enough (and have, in fact, recommended them to neighbors and friends who have also ended up happy customers). They do great, speedy work at a great price, and Sy and his crew are just so nice too. read more

Great experience from a very responsive company. Cy and his guys came out on a ridiculously hot day and trimmed two overgrown trees and removed a couple bushes in record time. Reasonably priced, done quickly and left the yard clean! Highly recommend and will be my preferred tree service company going forward! read more

Just used A1 Tree Service to remove 5 trees in our association courtyard. The entire process from start to finish was excellent. Sy came out the same day I left a message to quote the project. His crew was respectful and cleaned up the entire area. I highly recommend A1 Tree Service. read more

We had A-1 complete two projects this year. Both jobs were executed flawlessly, and we cannot be happier with the owner and his outstanding crew. The estimate process was commendable, un-rushed, and more affordable than most. First, a small tree/shrub was taken out in summer. They did this so fast, it was akin to a NASCAR pit crew, with no details skipped. We were so impressed with the clean aftermath. Since trucks had to be parked on our one-way street, it was great that the owner had so many members of his team on the job to make things go so quickly. Most recently, we dealt with the much larger task of having a tall tree taken out in back...no easy feat, as the tree was grown into electrical wires. Watching the crew expertly take this tree down in parts was impressive, to say the least. When the owner estimated this, he did not scare us into "getting this tree down ASAP," as he said that it would need to come down within a couple of years, but no immediate sense of urgency for this year. Worth noting is that the business owner was on-site for the whole project (both projects, actually). What impressed us the most is how they all clearly took personal safety into account while also respecting the job site in full. We couldn't help but watch the entire process of the big tree takedown because the crew worked like a well-oiled machine, which was interesting to observe. They worked swiftly without rushing and had such a great flow with each other. It truly made us confident in, and happy with, their ability. The owner did all of the coordinating with ComEd to get them to cut the power (and you can trust that he's insured), which was appreciated. I cannot recommend A-1 enough, and though we have no more trees at this point, I will recommend them to anyone needing similar services. read more

I used A1 tree service to trim and remove branches damaged by a recent storm. Sy was very nice to talk to- called back promptly when he said he would and kept up with communication about pricing and availability. His crew were pleasant and did a nice job with trimming and clean up . Pricing seemed fair as well. Would definitely recommend them. read more

We've had to trim our trees almost annually since buying our house. I've come to expect getting on a schedule to take several messages and texts with most businesses. Imagine my surprise when I reached out to A1 and they were quick and efficient. Sy came out and gave us a quote and came back when he said he would. He and his team were quick and efficient. My husband had also wanted a tree stump for chopping firewood for our fire pit. Sy didn't have anything right away, but came back and left it for us. Overall we were very pleased with A1's work and responsiveness. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again. read more

Highly recommended. The crew was fast, efficient, and professional and did excellent work in removing a very large 30 ft long limb from old maple tree that had broken off about 40 feet up from the ground in recent high winds and gotten snagged as it fell. Good communication and service, fair price. Would not hesitate to use them in the future. read more

Wonderful service. Prompt, quick, job well done. Crew came and finished in less than an hour. Everything was cleaned up

We had the unenviable task of finding a tree company to cut down a big bush in front of our house and a big ol' tree in the back. Thanks to Yelp, we looked up A-1 Tree Service and they did a stellar job on both removals. I dialed A-1 one summer morning and was advised that I would get a callback later that day or the next day. I did receive a call from the owner Sy late that afternoon, and he offered to stop by our house around 6PM not long after his callback. Sure enough he came by, had a look at the bush and the tree, and offered his cost estimates. I had contacted several other tree services, and they either were too costly, were not willing or equipped to handle the tree (it's complicated!) or were not willing to offer an in-person estimate. Now I get that there is a pandemic going on, but I cannot understand how anyone from a tree company can truly understand a situation without physically looking at the tree. Anyway, based on this initial meeting with Sy, we decided to go with A-1. The bush, or mini-tree in front was an easy chore for A-1. It took them mere minutes from start to finish. The tree in the back was a more complicated matter, as A-1 had to also contact ComEd to schedule a timeslot weeks later to cut off and restore the power. With the power off, the A-1 team could tackle the tree, which was quite a puzzle. This tree was situated between two garages with its branches intermingled with the power lines above. Sy and A-1 were like the Flying Wallendas (with power saws) as they expertly dismantled the tree and meticulously cleaned up the job site and surrounding areas. We also added on the late task of removing a small shrub in the backyard, and A-1 took care of that with no fuss and only a slight additional cost. Not counting the extra time for ComEd to cut off and restore the power, the A-1 team spent about two hours on the job, which seemed astoundingly efficient. We really appreciated the expertise and professionalism displayed by the team from A-1 Tree Service. It was a pleasure to deal with folks who know exactly what they are doing. read more

Sy was responsive and easy to work with. Quote was reasonable and they did a great job checking in before and after the service to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted. Highly recommend! read more

Great communication, responsive, and omg they removed the giant shrubs in front of my house in 10 mins. So efficient! The crew rolled up on time, they all knew exactly what they had to do, and boom...done. They even cleaned up my front porch area that was covered with leaves! They didn't have to do that, but they left my yard cleaner than they found it and I was so grateful. Will definitely use them again! read more

I would echo all the great reviews for this business. Cy and his team were efficient and cleaned up the area nicely afterwards. Can't say enough about Cy at A-1. Did a great job, reasonable price, good communicator.

Outstanding Service!.. I had Sy and his crew remove a large tree in our backyard. His crew was very professional and courteous, did a great job and cleaned-up after they completed the job. Yo, when someone is dropping hundred+ pound to several-ton objects around the place wherein you lay your head and where from you write angry reviews of taquerias about, you want an expert. So go with these dudes. They're consummate professionals with the skills/knowhow/ability to get it done. Skillfully disassembled a tree from between (betwixt?) some dangerously interwoven powerlines. My neighbors wouldn't have nominated me for "best neighbor 2020" award had I knocked out their power now would they? Okay to be clear, to my knowledge no such award exists nor did I win it, but if there *were* such an award, knocking power out to an entire block of bridgeport would not have exactly nominated me now would it? They're also super nice. These guys are awesome, look no further. Sy is my guy. read more

On 3/29 a neighbor's tree fell onto my garage. I needed a company to remove the tree ASAP in order for my insurance to access the damages. I contacted A-1 Tree Service the morning of 3/30 and on 3/31 the crew made quick work of the fallen tree. This was a hazardous job requiring workers to scale a broken structure. But in 45 minutes they were done. While insurance reimbursed me for the cost, I thought the price was extremely reasonable given the response time, professionalism, and how fast they were able to get it done. read more

We had a large tree that had basically grown in to the foundation of our apartment building and needed to be taken care of. A friend recommended A1 Tree Service and, even coming highly recommended, their service exceeded my expectations. Sy came out within a day to give us an estimate for trimming trees on the parkways around our condo building, and for removing a small tree in the backyard. He communicated well throughout the process of setting up an account with our management company, applying for required permits, and scheduling the work day -- which is not always the case, even with contractors who do good work. Sy's crew worked efficiently and with care, which I really appreciated given all the issues that might arise when workers have to go onto the roof, and large tree limbs are being dropped onto landscaping, sidewalks, and residential streets. The workers were pleasant and cleaned the area very well when the job was done. read more

Cy and his team are fantastic. All around great service, quick, careful and diligent! They even swept up all of fall leaves. 5 stars!

How do you get 5 stars as a Tree service company? 1) Have a competitive price 2) Respond to texts or calls quickly 3) Show up on time 4) Review the job before starting and after to make sure everything was done correctly 5) CLEAN UP Boom. 5 stars. I hired A1 for some quick tree trimming services, they showed up within minutes of saying they would, and trimmed my tree in 15-20 minutes, cleaned up, and were out of there in under 30 minutes. I expected to find a bunch of leafs and small twigs that I was going to just quickly rake up, nope. Nothing. Not a single leaf, my yard is cleaner than it was before. Highly recommend using A1! read more

We hired A-1 earlier this summer to take down a very large, very difficult tree (the branches were very intertwined with the power lines) and they were fantastic! They worked with ComEd to get the power turned off to the neighborhood as necessary, did the job all in a single day, cleaned everything up and stuck to their original estimated price. I would definitely recommend their services. read more

I reached out to the owners of A-1 Tree Service after reading their response, and offered to update my review, since it seemed that our condo's management company disregarded the condo board's wishes and told A-1 to do a deep trim job so that we wouldn't need to have trimming for a couple years. So, in light of the fact that the management company is to blame, and NOT A-1, I'm updating my review. Sahip, the owner of A-1 Tree Service was sympathetic in his response, instead of being angry, as he would have been justified in being, and he and his crew were put in a bad spot by the condo management company. I appreciate his reaching out and wanted to publicly say that I think A-1 Tree Service is an honest, trustworthy company that stands up to it's Yelp Reviews. I apologize for the misunderstanding regarding the trim job at our address, and our condo board will continue to work with A-1 Tree Service in the future, as we would value their advice on landscaping and the need to replace some Ash trees. Thank you to Sahip for his attentiveness and professionalism. read more

.I requested a bid from the top 10 tree trimmers around the city to trim down the massive maple tree in my parkway. A1 rang my doorbell one hour later to physically inspect the tree and deliver their bid. A1's bid was the lowest I received, and they told me they'd take care of the permit with the city, and should be back to try the tree in the next two weeks. A1 showed up 6 days later, and within 45 minutes, the tree had been significantly pared down while still leaving plenty of branches and an overall anesthetic look to the tree. A1 did a nice job on the cleanup as well. I'd recommend A1 to anyone around Chicago who needs their tree trimmed or removed. read more

Sy was very responsive. Provided a quote right away. We wanted to wait a month to do the work and quote remained the same. Quote was also reasonable. Came to the property and discussed approach with me. Provided me with COI as requested. Crew was polite, cleaned up, and quick. We have very tall, old trees that hang over a three story house and they trimmed branches from the roof in 2 hours. Cleaned up well. I needed a dying apple tree removed from my front yard, so I reached out to A-1, and other tree service companies. Sy responded promptly and drove by to give an accurate (+ competitive) estimate. I asked about their availability and he was able to do the job same day! Talk about service! He came with a very-well equipped team, and was in and out in 30 minutes! Sahip and his crew were awe. He first gave a quote which was very reasonable but when he stopped by I actually wasn't home. I wanted to meet him in person to go over the exact work. Without any push back, he immediately scheduled another time to come by the building. I met him, felt really comfortable with the work he planned so then it basically became a wait till he would be servicing my neighborhood again. The first time he was scheduled to come he couldn't do any work due to the fact that people simply ignored his "Do Not Park" signs. He immediately called and explained the situation. The situation certainly wasn't his fault but I really appreciated the quick phone call to discuss. We scheduled again a second time which was a while out but he continued to stay in contact with me throughout the time just to make sure we knew he didn't forget about us. On the day of the work, his crew arrived and were really efficient and clean. I can't say how much I appreciate his great work. read more
