The initial meeting with our Bartlett Tree Experts Arborist, Michael Connor was thorough and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. Michael helped me understand what was going on with my trees and gave me a few options to provide treatment to the them. (Diplodia tip blight on my beloved Austrian pine tree, ugh..) My quote for the tree spray was reasonably priced. The technician did a great job when he was here spraying our trees. He spoke to us about what he was going to do, and it was done quickly and efficiently. read more

As a retired property manager, I am in the habit of getting at least 3 proposals for significant jobs performed in and around our home. Obviously, I was most impressed with their entire operation starting with Dolores who was right on top of my contacting the company. When Michael came to the house for the appointment I was very impressed with the fact that first of all he showed up (how many times have people not shown up and left us hanging) and just his overall professionalism and helpfulness. The crew was super polite and were so great at their jobs that made it look easier which I know is the furthest thing to the true. The job site was cleaned up as if they were never there. The tree they took out was sentimental to me and they made it easier to see it go. Best decision I could have made. read more

This is my 1st year with Bartlett, and I have never used a tree service before. I feel fortunate to have such a positive experience right out the door. My youngish Maple and 3 White Birch suffered cicada damage, and I thought they needed some TLC. I contacted Bartlett, whom I learned about through their ad in the Oak Park/River Forest Garden Walk Guide. From the first encounter with the office to meeting with the arborist to the person who applied the treatment, I found them responsive, helpful, and professional. I will be calling them back next year. read more

The entire crew was a pleasure to work with and performed a large scope of tasks expertly, including limb removal of a 150 year-old tree that extended over our roof line. Scheduling the work and its completion were done in a timely manner. Pricing is similar to other professional arborists in the area. The quality and professionalism of the service make the cost reasonable. read more

Amazing!! They came, cut down limbs that needed to be removed. Nothing was damaged. Despite the close quarters. Cleaned up and you could not tell they were here. Perfect!! Thank you. read more

Well, I didn't actually end up completing the work I got the estimate for from Bartlett, but I was so impressed with Bryan's professionalism and tree knowledgeable that i wanted to share and just give him a shout out. I'm grateful for the time they spent walking me through my options and educating me about my trees. read more

I was so disgusted and disappointed with the flies that had taken over my yard and gardens and my ability to enjoy them. Bryan came to the site understanding right away how sad and frustrated I was about it. Bryan is knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, and creative. He listened to me and wanted to learn about my priorities and we came up with a solution together that I was able to understand and feel good about in terms of likelihood of effectiveness in solving the problem, minimal impact to beneficial pollinators, and speed to execution of the plan. And it WORKED! I have sung Bryan's and Batlett's praises on the Ukrainian Village Community Facebook page. Well done, you are my #1 choice for landscape care moving forward! read more

They treated my crab apple tree for some type of scab. It worked but was too pricey for me to keep treating the issue every year. I'd hire them again though, I price shopped and they are competitive. read more

Bartlett returned my call promptly and scheduled an arborist to come out. He was able to make recommendations, help identify some weird stuff happening on the tree, and provide an idea of cost for future work. I totally appreciated the professionalism. read more

Bartlett is the best! I have 15 older trees in my yard at my home in Chicago, and it had been a daunting task to keep them healthy and alive until I met Bartlett Trees. They took soil samples and analyzed the disease in some of the trees. They had the knowledge and skill to put together an affordable plan of care and executed it well. This is the 2nd year, and I'm already seeing signs of new growth and vigor in my trees. I'm so happy now! read more

The Arborist who came to our property was very knowledgable. That said, trying to get anything scheduled in a timely manner was very difficult with this company. I first engaged with them via email in early September and the back & forth is still on-going for a seemingly simple job. There is lack of follow-up on email communications with open loops lasting 1+ weeks easily. Nothing moves along unless I re-engage. In summary, very knowledgeable but scheduling and customer service are a problem. read more

We had a great experience with big Jose and little Jose doing work on our tree. They were prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable. The cost quoted by a Phil was very reasonable and we are happy with the result. read more

This review is based strictly on price. Bartlett gave us the highest quote for our job, a whopping $5,000. Another company quoted $1,025 for the same job. We don't automatically accept the lowest bid, but we felt good about a company that offered to do the job for as little as $750; we hired them and were pleased with the excellent job they did--for a mere 15% of what Bartlett wanted. But you shouldn't necessarily reject Bartlett because of this single instance. Just make sure you get several quotes and do your homework. read more

Professional. Seamless. Positive. Bartlett Tree Experts were wonderful to work with, from start to finish. We scheduled a quote appointment with a courteous staff member, Kathy, and were greeted onsite by a very professional Arborist Representative, Erik, who paid attention to detail as we walked through the yard and followed up with a quote within a matter of an hour or two. They worked to accommodate our request for an ASAP trim, pulled all required permits free of charge, arrived on time, did a walk through with a knowledgeable crew, and consulted with me throughout the trimming when necessary. During our post-job walk through, the arborist climbers explained their work and made sure I was satisfied before they left (our yard in perfectly clean condition). The team takes the shape of the canopy, view from the house, and impact on the growth of the trees into consideration verses simply hacking away like other tree trimmers do. Bartlett Tree Experts take their work very seriously and we will continue to call upon them for future work read more

We had a great experience with Bartlett. Erik and his crew helped us remove a Birch tree and trim the other one. They took care of everything including permit issue and safety issue as our trees are located close to the sidewalk. They also cleaned the site right afterwards. They are very professional and knowledgeable. Erik also shared with us how to care for the other tree we have. I would definitely recommend them if you need a professional team at a reasonable price. read more

I had a big old tree in my yard which was in bad shape. Phil came out and looked at the tree and sent me a quote for the work. We discussed another area that I wanted cleaned out and also replacement trees for both places. Phil got back to me the same day with a revised quote for all the work. The crew came and took down the trees and ground the stumps. They were on time and cleaned up the area when they were done. I'm waiting for new trees to be available and then they will come back and plant them. I would recommend their company to anyone who needs this type of work done. read more

We were very impressed with the Bartlett arborist and work crew. They were thoughtful in checking our opinion before and during the work, careful not to damage other plants as they trimmed the trees and bushes on our site, and very thorough in cleaning up when done. We are really happy with our choice. read more

Bartlett provides great tree-trimming service! Our large backyard silver maple was out-of-control: scraping against a neighbor's house, threatening power lines, dropping dead branches everywhere. After a visit from Bartlett last month, it's trimmed, shaped, and ready for Spring! Bartlett also pulled the necessary permit to remove a lopsided, low branch from a parkway tree, shaped my prize row of European Beeches, and carefully trimmed a Cedar tree without disturbing a squirrel nest. Thank you to Erik and the hard-working Bartlett crew! read more

I called Bartlett Tree on September 23. They told me they would call me back to schedule an appointment. After several days delay, I finally called again and they scheduled a visit with Erik the arborist for October 14. I emailed photos to Erik showing him the issues along with a narrative describing the problems on October 12. I had to call Bartlett Tree to get a status on October 16. It turns out, they did not visit my property on October 14, as promised. They also never followed up to re-schedule. I am using another company. They wasted my time. Embarrassingly poor service. read more
