Sy was great to work with. Very professional, great price and great work. Would definitely use them again if the need arose.

We needed a bunch of trees and bushes removed from our backyard. Very inexpensive, fast turn around, and easy to work with. Highly recommended! read more

I contacted A1 after seeing the excellent work they did for two of my neighbors. Sy and his crew did a fantastic job removing two trees in our backyard and grinding down the stumps. They showed up right on time, jumped on the job immediately and were finished in less than an hour. One of my trees had many leaf-covered branches growing through a mess of electrical lines. They took considerable care and were able to remove it without incident. They were also very careful not to damage my neighbor's car, which was parked on the other side of that tree and could not be moved. I could not be happier that we hired them. read more

Fantastic service! They were quickly responsive to a Yelp inquiry. Sy was great to work with-- he got my input and gave his recommendations on trimming 3 large trees on my property before and during the process. His team worked smoothly and thoroughly, and they cleaned up afterward. My trees look beautiful. Price was completely reasonable! read more

Very Nice Guy! Owner showed up within hrs of me calling for an estimate. I had 3 businesses give me quotes for the same tree trimming. This business quoted me $1800 then went down to $1500 JDK Arbor quoted $850 with written proposal and knew what type of each tree that needed trimmed The tree guy in Oak Park, IL knew about trees, had proposals, licensed and bonded for $600 All in all, If I had an extra $300-900 for this guy, I would certainly get it done with him I would recommend written quotes in what would be done but it wasn't that important read more

I called these guys about a stray cat that had been stuck in a nearby tree for a few days. I'd called at least 10 other places who all refused to help. They came out within 20 minutes. Both Sy and his female accomplice (forgot her name!) were incredibly personable and helpful. I highly recommend these folks! Thank you both for being so helpful, even though the cat hurt himself on the way down! read more

Sy called back the same day I left a message. He came out, gave us an estimate for pruning and dead limb removal (2 trees), then we had to wait a couple weeks for City permits. He and his crew arrived on a super cold day (11/17) but finished the job quickly and cleaned up too. We've tried to get this work done since Spring 2013, trying both Bartlett and Care of Trees - I guess our little job was not important enough for them. Our Angie's List advisor suggested A-1 might be able to help and they did. read more

Same as the rest - Sy and A-1 Tree Service is Amazing!! I negotiated the price with Sy, which was very very reasonable, and he took care of the rest along with contacting ComEd to move the power lines for my very large tree. Trust the reviews. A-1 Tree Service is for real. read more

Sy runs a first-class operation. He is honest and reliable, and truly stands out in a business that can be super frustrating to deal with. Sy came by to give me an estimate in a very timely fashion. He advised me to wait to do the work requested until Fall to protect the tree we wanted trimmed, and to avoid an extra cost for him making two trips. Scheduling the work this month was very easy, and the price was very fair. Sy and crew went above and beyond to removed the stump of the tree they cut down, by hauling heavy equipment over a fence and making it work. I really appreciate the excellent communication, fine work, and integrity of A-1 and recommend them without hesitation. read more

I communicated with the owner directly and he was extremely nice and helpful. He scoped out our dying tree and quickly generated a quote for its removal. Scheduling was straight-forward and the crew arrived on time. They addressed everything we talked about regarding the tree removal. I would definitely use them again. read more

So the last review that began with a Wow kinda made me wonder. But, I woke up recently to a giant branch and various things in my backyard. I Yelped A-1 and made a call. The receptionist took my information quickly and within an hour Sy had called. But I missed the call, and not only did Sy call back but he took the time to come and actually see the backyard. We spoke briefly and he recommended some additional trimming of the tree. Best part, I was having a BBQ at 3 PM so Sy decided he could move the fallen branches immediately and return to do the trimming. This was incredible service from a knowledgable professional, period. read more

I agree with most of the reviewers that Sy was prompt when responding to my initial call as well as following up on when they would potentially remove our tree/weed. I had Sy price out removing a large weed in the back, evergreens in the front as well as some tree stumps along our fences in 2013. I remember being quoted around $700 or 900 for all of this. We opted to wait on his services. This year we went for it. This time we only got an estimate for the backyard weed - it was $750. I questioned Sy re: the jump in price and he said he most have quoted us two years ago. I was surprised by the price jump but my husband and I decided it was worth it to get removed. I would recommend anyone who uses him but opts to wait get a written quote. I read the reviews here and was impressed with the comments re: clean up and care taken by the crew to not destroy any existing plants. I can not say that I had the same experience. Because they put the chipper in the alley and used the pathway along the garage they trampled my hostas as well as some another plant nearby. I was disappointed with their carelessness in not picking up the branches. I would just say if you use them to explain to them to take care with any plants you don't want damaged. Overall, we were happy with the removal but I think we would look else where next time if we need anything additional removed. read more

I highly recommend Sy and his crew. I seriously cannot recommend them enough. Responsive, respectful, fairly priced, and they know what they are doing. After petitioning the city for 6 years to trim back a large branch looming over my roof, Sy and his crew had the job done in 1 hour flat. It was a massive job and they did flawless work. They took care of our property while they worked and cleaning up every branch and leaf to the point that you wouldn't even know they had been there. What a pleasure to do business with this caliber of a person. I've had many types of labor providers lie to my face, cut corners, and not follow through on what they promised. Working with Sy was a refreshing experience of customer service and quality work. read more

Professional and very reasonable. And he knows how to communicate with customers. I had a huge pine tree and a tree taken down in my backyard. Guys did really good work and my neighbors were impressed. Can't recommended them enough. Ty read more

Sy is professional, through and through. My wife is on a neighborhood list-serv, where we found out about A-1. Glad we did. A-1 will also get recommended to the neighbors. Sy was personable, knew what he was doing, and did what he said he would. No screwing around. Neat work, tidies up after he's finished. Tough way to make a living, and I have a lot of respect for tradesmen like Sy who work hard and do it well. read more

Awesome work! I contacted them via Yelp and received an almost immediate response and a quote same day. He was able to fit me in that very next day. Showed up with a well oiled machine of men and poof! My shrub was gone in 15 minutes, stump and all. These guys are pros. Thank you!! read more

They were very responsive and were able to get the job done quick. We're very happy with the tree removal service and will definitely use these guys again if we ever need them in the future. Sy (not sure if that's his spelling) was really nice to work with and highly recommend him for anyone who needs tree service. read more

A1 Tree Service - This was removed very quickly and a job well done - Tree Services Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Very reliable and neat. Cy and his crew showed up when they promised and got right to work trimming our sloppy parkway Ash tree. Cy even showed up over the weekend to put no parking signs on the street so he could get his equipment where it needed to be when they arrived. The crew was fast and cleaned up so you never knew they were there. read more

I cannot recommend them enough. I love them. He handled the permits to trim our city trees, and dealt with everything. He also looked at our tree last year that was having issues with the heat, I thought it had some tree illness, but he told me it should be fine. He was right. read more

We had these guys out to remove a 20ft tree, in the late fall of 2018 out front they did an awesome job and super quick and did it for a great price too. Highly recommended! read more

We have used Sy for years. His crew is efficient and tidy, his prices are competitive and he is great with communication and scheduling. Highly recommend. read more

A-1 by name, A-1 by nature. They came round and quoted on a weekend, and it was the cheapest quote by about 5% - not a lot - but not negligible. They removed the elm tree next to my house two days later. A team of 4-5 people chopped it down, and removed the stump, and tidied up every step of the way... even going so far as to put protective barriers down so as to not inconvenience my neighbors with sawdust. A job that should have taken 4 hours, took them only 90 minutes. Fast, effective, polite, professional. 100% recommended. read more

Based on the reviews here, I called A-1. Sy came out the same evening, took a walk around the tree with me and discussed what needed to be done. He said he'd try to schedule it in that week while in my neighborhood -- the office called the next morning, and by the time I came home from work, it was done. Better than that, except for a little bit of saw dust on my ferns, there was no evidence they'd been there. There were a lot of potted plants on my deck under the tree and none were disturbed. The removed quite a bit of dead wood and might as well have evaporated straight from the tree. I'm really happy with the straightforward service, the promptness, and the cleanliness. The price was good, too! read more

A1 tree service is fast, great prices and super friendly. I called Tuesday and Sy was at my house the next day to give me a quote. He and his crew came a week later, must've taken them 2 hours minimum which I think is super fast for my 30 footer. Highly recommend!! read more

We had a tree in our backyard that was close to power lines and decided to cut it down. I called several places and Sy was the only one that was responsive and showed up to the initial apt. We agreed on a price and date and he and his crew came and cut the tree down in one hour. Really impressed how quickly they cut it down and how careful they were during the process. I would highly recommend Sy and his team. read more

Wow, I am truly surprised that this type of customer service exists today. Most of the time I am disappointed, but not with A-1 Tree Service. They removed a large branch from the maple tree in my backyard. You would not even know that they were on the premises, everything was cleaned up and left just the way it was, except for the branch! Thanks A-1. read more

Good experience. Showed up when expected, reasonable quote, easy to work with. Will use again.

I needed a few trees cut back because they were bothering my neighbor. Sy showed up when he could and took out some big branches and a small tree. Appreciate it! read more

I needed three trees removed from my back yard. Sy came out same day gave me a quote and pointed out potential trees that are popping into my yard. He came out within two days, did a quick job and then cleaned up my yard. He gave my neighbor the wood from my tree for her fireplace; stacked it up nicely for her. He was professional and courteous. High marks for Sy and team. read more

We had a tree that needed to be trimmed back. They did a great job and cleaned-up everything. We will use them again In the future.

Sy and his team are great. Stand-up guy who stands by his estimate and word. He worked hard to get us into his schedule and despite being down a climber got the job completed in a timely and professional manner. They took care in not damaging the home or any items on the property and did a great job cleaning up after the job was complete. Sy was the third person I received a quote from and I went with him because I trusted him (he was very candid about what needed to be done vs. what was optional). My neighbor equally trusted him so we had both properties done at the same time. Will definitely use him again! read more

Sahip quickly contacted me back when I requested a quote. I needed a huge maple removed that was growing into power lines as well as an elm growing very close to neighbor's garage. He scheduled to come over and cut them down and ground the big maple down beautifully considering it was growing in a very tight space in my back yard. I am amazed at how good my yard looks now and the pesky elm...its as if it never existed. His services were extremely reasonable as well. I highly recommend A1!!! Thank You Sahip!!! read more

Sy was great to work with. He gave an estimate in a very timely manner and came to trim a tree on property the day after I called to approve the quote he gave me. One of our association residents was unhappy that he moved her patio furniture and he offered to return to make sure everything was in its place and in the condition that he found it. He even offered to fix her broken patio table even though it was missing a bolt. He was very personable and reliable. read more

We had an overgrown willow tree in our front yard. We wanted it trimmed to get it away from the house and just shaped overall. Sy was very prompt in his communication the whole way. I got a callback within an hour of leaving a message with the office. He visited the house that afternoon and called me back immediately to let me know his recommendations and what I felt was a totally fair price. Ten days later they arrived, trimmed the tree, and in 15 minutes they were gone. They were careful with our daffodil bulbs around the tree that are just starting to sprout, and the raked and cleaned up the front yard. Easy breezy. Now I have a go-to tree service guy! read more

I had a ceder tree stump on the side of my house behind a fence in a very tight space that needed to be removed. The previous owner has buried the stump under grass that was always dying. When reaching out to A-1 Tree Service, Sy quickly responded with a quote, and we quickly scheduled an appointment. His team arrive with all necessary equipment to get remove stump. This involved using their crane to lift their stump remover machine over my fence into the small area on the side of the house. Very professionally done. No damage to anything it was around. The team cleaned up afterward and got the job done quickly. I couldn't be happier with Cy and his crew. read more
