My first experience was to have a 60-year old pine tree removed and base plus roots completely stumped. They gave me the best quote of the 4 I sought and when the day came they had all the right equipment and personnel. In what seemed no time, those men had my tree down and all the evidence of its existence in a truck being hauled somewhere. I' once used them to clean up many substantial downed branches and things after a mini-tornado. Not only was the service impeccable, but what I really appreciated was their quote. Other contractors were gouging but they gave me a fair price that was better than everybody else's Another job they did, also the biggest job they did for me included taking out a massive 60-year old Oak, and various bushes and trees that ran along 3 sides of my yard. This large job took the entire day but they cleared every bush and stumped every root well into the evening until the job was done. (before and after pics attached) Through all of this, the business owners have been incredibly easy to deal with. I just called and stated what I needed done and they either came out for a quote or gave me one over them phone. I've also recommended them to two family members that went on to hire them and both were immensely pleased. If you have a tree job that you need to get done, do me a favor and give these guys at County tree service a call. They've been so good to me and those I sent to them. None of that usual contractor game-playing and b.s. and that has earned them my repeated business over the years.

Even though I always seek 3 quotes before confirming a project, Progressive always provides a great deal. Their work is top-notch. I can't believe how fast they work and how clean they leave the job. Also, their proposal and payment portal is very easy to use and convenient. The 3 services I had them do were: 2021: Removal of dying crabapple tree 2023: Removal of all shrubs in the front and sides of our property 2024: Removal of all shrubs in the sides of our property in preparation for a fence. At this point, I don't think I have any more trees or shrubs left for them to remove, but I wouldn't recommend anyone else for any tree/shrub service needed. Thank you Progressive!

The owner (whose nickname I believe is Meca) also pointed out some dead branches that should be removed. They cleaned up all the debris and followed up with me to see if I had had a chance to see the trimmed tree. Considering the size of the tree and other quotes, I found their price to be reasonable. I had to put 10% down and paid the rest after the work was completed. I would use them again.

Desta, the arborist, is incredibly knowledgeable and always provides a fair and reasonable estimate. I really appreciate the care she takes in assessing what needs to be done--she clearly knows her stuff. The crew that came out recently to trim shrubs, bushes, and trees, as well as remove a few, did outstanding work. They were efficient, respectful of the property, and left everything looking clean and well-maintained. Carlos, the site manager (I think that is his job title), was very receptive to listening to my requests and effectively communicating them to his team. I also want to mention that the woman who handled scheduling and spoke with me on the phone (sorry, I didn't get her name) was very professional and kind, making the whole process smooth from start to finish. Montoya Tree Service continues to be my go-to, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for expert, dependable tree care.

However, I was left waiting until approximately 5 p.m. the following day to hear back, long past the promised time. Disappointed by the delay and lack of communication, I decided to engage another company, RGP Tree Service (https://www.chicagotreeremovalcompany.com), who promptly completed the job. Unfortunately, when I informed the individual, I had initially spoken with about my decision, his response was, "Why did I waste his damn time?!". He then abruptly ending the call. Despite my attempts to reach out afterward, I was met with his voicemail. Left with no alternative, I left a message expressing my disappointment at his unprofessional conduct. His subsequent text instructing me to stop calling only added to my disappointment. Rather than addressing the issue at hand, it only served to further highlight the lack of professionalism displayed throughout this interaction. In response, I matched his energy in my response text. My guess is that this guy must have been one of the owners or the owner. I do not believe an hourly employee would have the confidence to address a customer in the disrespectable fashion that he did.
