It was a very difficult removal, with neighbors, power lines, bad weather, and very limited access - space. His team did a great job and took it all in stride, helping the neighbor with some issues they had too. The crew was very friendly and hard working, and we only payed after the project was complete and everyone was happy. A lot of saw dust was created and they cleaned up everything they had access to. I hired Pro Tree service for the job on the 13th March 2026 Friday. I made a called to ask John to come again for a better understanding even he already has the proposal but he wants to talknover the phone. I intentionally mentioned if the trees close to the house will be cut down to half and he said yes. He called me a liar. He used abusive language fuck, threats in order for me to back down. I have to add up another $200 for the cut down where he said I should shove it up to my ass. I ended up paid in total of $2700. Beware that he might seems nice all upfront but he is very rude and ungentleman. He even said he knew this would happened like I am the one trapped him to get the job done for me and had him curse me. The proposal said trim ,i used the word cut during the discussion with him and i thought he used interchanably, in that case his price is not the cheaper. He did not professionally handle situation rather he's using the vulgar language to scare you off. I do not deserved all these swear words ! His workers done the job very quickly though. read more

The crew was walking all over my yard with no regard, and they were even piling tree branches right next to my car -- I had to move it just to avoid possible damage. Extremely careless and unprofessional behavior. Just because I wasn't the paying customer doesn't mean my property should be treated like a dumping ground. Tony came out for an estimate & I very clearly said I wanted light pruning of a few branches getting close to roof. He said a nearby tree was dead & could take it down. Dead? It's full of green leaves. No thanks! I said I wanted to be there when job was done because I didn't want a whack job. I was told someone would be back the next day to do the job.. Nope. For weeks I was told someone was coming "today." Never showed. Finally, out of nowhere a guy showed up without notice when I wasn't home, whacked a lot of big branches off both trees and left. It looks terrible. It was exactly what I said NOT to do. They came and did it as fast & sloppy as possible. The 2 trees were in front of my home. Now I have to look at this butchering job every day. It's ruined the look of my home. I'm so mad & upset. Horrible company. If you need a tree whacked to bits, John's (rudest person ever) Pro Tree company is for you. They didn't come when he said they would, but when the crew came a day late they apologized and got down to business. They knew what they were doing and worked very well as a team to remove my beloved Poplar and taking care not to damage any property. I had an appointment for August 2. I texted Tony on July 31 to push out the appointment 1 month. I never got a response. On August 1 the whole crew shows up. I told them it was not scheduled until august 2 and i also needed to push it out 1 month and showed the foreman the message I sent the night before. He got on the phone with John the owner who called me. Said if they cut it down then he would bill me in October. I was fine with that. Yeah, not a good option. The owner (John B) is a bully IMO. They, ProTree services, didn't complete the work he promised and took me for $375.00. He lied to me about the start day and showed up a day early. This despite me telling him I need to be here especially since my dogs are elderly and I fear for their safety. He didn't complete the work but promised to come back out later to finish the work -- he never came back, dodged my calls and only answered when I'd use another number. If I had been there when they showed up, I'd have said something about the work so I suspect they do this on purpose. His partner (Tony) even noted during a subsequent visit which I thought was the visit they were going to fix their work didn't believe they were ever here to begin with. He said the tree looked "untouched". He also had an abrasive tone. Joe had hung up me at least twice. I couldn't believe I was experiencing this. When I told him the tree is all over my power lines (their incomplete work from the first time), he told me "Not to look at it if it bothers me". He said he'd come out several times but could not offer a date or time but continued to say he'd be out soon. Consequently, this day never came. And it's been a year now since the work was started. One time, while I used a google voice number to reach him, he answered and seemed to think I was someone else. John didn't even say hi as if he just got the phone with someone a minute ago. He was angry citing he'd be back out to remove some stump. I guess another happy customer was dealing with him. His drivers are seemingly reckless as per complaints right here on YELP. They agreed to cut down 3 small trees (and remove stumps) that lined the property between me and the neighbor. I received a call asking for payment, so I went out to inspect the work. Trees were gone, but they left two stumps. I called back and they sent someone back out, but they only removed one stump. I guess I won't die, but I paid to have all three removed. When I asked for a receipt for my tax records it took almost a month to get one. Great way to do business :/ (please know I'm being facetious). Thanks for your response John. I have no intent to smear anyone, I'm being honest about my experience. As a business professional there's no reason to be rude. I have a masters degree and can read just fine. I'm not a tree expert, but the first tree removed was completely entangled in the fence yet the stump was removed. I've included the only documentation presented to me. I cannot recommend Johns pro tree service. They dragged the limbs through my landscape and broke the glass globe on my antique gas pump. Then cleaned it up and did not tell me. I watched the video, then called John. After rude responses, and my agreeing to a reproduction globe at half the cost, he said that he would reimburse. Paid Johns pro tree service in full on 9/21/2021. They came the same day we called to remove the tree that had fallen. A few days later they came back to remove the actually pile of tree parts that they piled up. They have yet to be back to remove the stump that was included in the payment that was made (1,200.00). I have called multiple times and left messages and have yet to hear back. When I posted my comment with BBB they stated that "this person was never a customer" I wish I did not waste my money on them, and I advise you to seek another more reliable company to complete your job. read more

Absolutely the Best ! John came and gave a WRITTEN estimate (no one else did !), left a business card and brochure showing they are Licensed, Bonded, Insured. I hired them and they came on the day and time he said they would. The scope of work consisted of taking down multiple very large limbs from a single base, highest limb curved over the garage and was in excess of 30+ ft tall. The crew of 5 quickly and efficiently removed the complete tree, During removal one of the limbs hit a rain gutter section and dented it, but when I pointed this out, they laddered up and straightened it out. They removed all the debris from the cutting from the roof sections AND all the branches that were in the back yard, The left several very large limb sections and the huge base on the front lawn because they were too large for the huge chipper they brought and said someone would remove it with equipment the next day. The used a blower to clear the chips from the lawn and driveway 8 AM the next day, the came with a lift truck type special equipment and removed everything. And the best thing was that they were the mo$t price competitive of all those who quoted and did an outstanding job. Any negative reviews, I believe , are from competitors !! read more

We just had a job completed by John's Pro Tree Service and they did a spectacular job at a very reasonable price.  Our was a difficult one, at least in my opinion.  Two huge Maple trees, at least 60 years old and about 75 foot tall located right off our back deck about 8 feet from the back of our house.  The crew arrived right on time, were very friendly and didn't make us feel like we were being a bother when we asked questions.  The worked so efficiently.  I didn't think it was possible to remove both trees in one day but the job was complete by 4:00.  The guys on the crew work like a fine-oiled machine, each having their own responsibilities and executing them perfectly.  The skill and precision in cutting the large limbs/branches while up in the tree and the skill of the crane operator amazed me.  Their attention to detail in cleaning up after shredding the branches and cleaning up the wood chips was outstanding.  What a great experience.  And then this morning, a gentleman came to grind the huge stumps and within two hours, they were gone.  I highly recommend John's Pro Tree Service and in fact, we are so pleased we are having to very tall Blue Spruce removed from our front yard and our neighbor is having them remove six trees from her property in the next few weeks.  If you are looking for a tree service that is honest, reliable, experienced and caring, hire John's Pro Tree Service. read more

His treatment of customers and other people is abhorrent and severely unprofessional. It was amazing to see the safety procedures and skill it took to tackle the tree I had removed. I called Pro Tree Service got a quick response and a quick quote. John came out gave the best quote out of 4 other services. The employees came out on 5/4/22 and removed the gate. Cut slowly and safely while working next to a busy street. 2 day project for a big tree near power-lines and traffic. After the tree was removed they came back a third day for stump grinding fixed the gate. In my opinion this company deserves this 5 star rating. Would recommend and use again. read more

John (the owner) came out the day before & personally met with me, listening to my questions & my preferences. Then the crew came out the next day & did an amazing job trimming the large tree in our backyard. They were precise, safe & careful, and very neat & clean. They removed every scrap of leaves, twigs, branches, & limbs on the ground after the extensive trimming. I felt that their price was very reasonable and fair, considering the considerable amount of trimming that they did. When my husband arrived home later, he said "the tree looks beautiful". The first time I used Geraldo from Pro tree Service, he was great. I couldnt believe the negative comments I read. But this time, it was much to desire. I called him weekly to get the tree cut after he gave me the price. He kept saying he was coming this week. This week turned into a month and a half. He came back out and up the price and showed a pic that left at least 6 ft of the tree standing that he wanted to charge me for now. That was his new proposal. I was very disappointed. We hired Pro Tree Service to cut down and remove a large maple tree that was in our back yard. They said that they would be by on Thursday or Friday of the following week. They showed up on Wednesday (which happened to be our anniversary), instead, without a phone call. It took them all day to remove the tree, during which time, we could not leave our home, forcing us to cancel our plans. For several hours, they literally napped in our back yard, saying they were waiting for the wind to die down, even though the weather service clearly showed that the wind wouldn't die down until the following morning. Eventually, they proceeded to cut down the tree and grind the stump, and then asked for payment, before they had finished the job. We asked if we could use our credit card, and they said no, even though their paperwork previously said we could use our card. They left a mountain of tree shavings in our back yard and more than half of the very large tree on our front yard, as well as several of their tools, and said they would be back for it the next day. They did not come, but they did cash our check. When we called to complain, the owner was very rude, and he actually hung up on my husband. I *really* wish I had looked them up on Yelp before choosing them for their low proposal price. This is some of the worst customer service and communication I've ever encountered. read more
