After nearly 10 years as a customer, this is not a review I expected to write. Over the past year, the quality of this company has clearly declined, and my most recent experience confirmed it. The job was delayed, communication was poor throughout, and my property was damaged. The crew also left the work in an unacceptable condition as a completed job before I had to request them to correct the horrible planting (see photo). What professional company would leave a job like this? What's most frustrating is that I simply requested a $250 refund (about 20% of the total cost) to cover the damage. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, I was put through an unnecessarily difficult process. I ultimately paid the full invoice just to move on. This company used to provide reliable, high-quality service, which is why I stayed with them for so long. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. I'm willing to pay for quality--but based on this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere and suggest you do the same. read more

We recently had Precise Tree Care trim two trees on our property. One was a large ornamental pear that had grown over the roof of our house and the other was a flowering Crab that had grown into a mess of sucker branches and dead branches. The crew came out and went right to work. They worked very efficiently, safely, and professionally. One crew went to work on the Pear sending one man up the tree to precisely trim back the large branches over the house while the other crew expertly trimmed the overgrowth on the Crab making it look beautiful. i am giving this company 1 star because it would not let me leave 0 stars. iI signed a proposal for work to be performed on a maple tree in my yard in mid August. they said that because of recent storms, they were backed up and would perform the work in a few weeks. at the end of September, I called and was told I was in the queue and it would be a couple more weeks. At the end of October I really got the run around. first I was told that other jobs were before me, then I was told that they don't put other jobs ahead and go by the date the proposal was signed. They wouldn't give me a straight answer. i called again in November and once agin given the run around. I asked if I could expect the work to be done this year. I never got an answer. I've been using this company for ten plus years and they have always been responsive to my needs. I did have one time that I had an issue with the work done not that the work was bad but rather that they missed an item. I have mixed emotions about the company it took me a little over eight weeks to get an appointment and when they did come out they gave me an estimate time between two and 230 they didn't arrive until after four; I was last on their list for that day!!! so they just rushed the job. A couple employees were on the phone the majority of the time they finished at six and didn't do a complete job in my opinion I was only 70% happy with what they did. So use caution if you're going to be the last person of the day. They are right down the street from me I am in Richtonpark and they are in Frankfort IL. so The employees were in a rush to go home. Overall they did pretty good I just feel a little cheated. But overall the pricing was good. read more

The technician came to my door not wearing a mask. He did not just drop off an invoice. He waited several minutes, and then after he saw me at the door, he waited several more minutes. I called the office and they made excuse after excuse for him. To me, this is a snapshot of the care they take in following health and safety regulations in general. Update: Hi, Christina. I would expect a more professional response, rather than defending the techs and being argumentative. The tech was definitely at my door door for several minutes, expecting to engage me without a mask. This is what I find offensive, because it is objective--specifically my experience. To me, that states that someone either is not concerned about the safety of the client, or does not believe in science. Oh, and there was no information regarding the treatment stuck to my door. I had some trees that I needed to be removed. Approx 8 in the back yard. They had died from Ash borers. I have lost over 80 Ash trees through the years and have had several companies do a little over 50 percent of those. I read some good stuff about the services and even though I contacted them last about pricing they came across as the most professional. From the owner to the arborist and the girls in the office all seemed to be a part of the team. The pricing was so reasonable that I doubled up the work this year and had some additional trees and stumps taken care of with this service visit. Response time was above average. Billing was itemized and any additional work was clearly marked so I could plan on exactly what I could get done this year. The cleanup was above average. Im glad I gave them a try. Unfortunately, while removing several large bushes and small trees on our property, they caused $400 worth of damage to our sprinkler system when they severed the wires and water line. Per the contract, they are not responsible for this damage caused by carelessness. I will not use them again, nor will I recommend them to friends or neighbors. read more

I ordered a pink flowering dogwood in April 2020 that was installed in May 2020. No issue with the crew or installation. However the tree is a white flowering dogwood so I called and they came out and said they will replace it with a pink one, no problem. A couple days later they called and said it would be an extra $100, no problem again. I started calling every several weeks and was always told they were waiting for the nursery to get one one stock. In September I gave up calling/waiting and told them I would just install my own tree from Home Depot and asked what they could do. They offered a $225 refund if I kept the tree (which is now dead) or a $450 refund if they came out and took the dead tree back. I chose the $450 option. However I am back to calling them every week to find out when, if ever, they are coming out. I have been told I am in their queue for over a month. Overall story, after 6 months I still don't have the tree I ordered, I am out $450 on a wrong/dead tree and having to deal with them on a weekly basis. I wouldn't be surprised if this goes into 2021. Should have done more research. My fault. Most reviews are about cutting down trees. I called them to save a tree. Arborist came out and was great. Identified problem, birch borer. Said it was caught early and very good outlook. Technician came out to apply medicine. Great guy. Thought great outlook as well. Said he even gave it a little extra medicine. Tree, which I loved now dead. No one out yet to tell me if they made a mistake or weather it will come back in the spring. I hope some day they will send the arborist for advice. Not reliable for a quote. I called 2 weeks later to find out they dont service my area AFTER they told me that they do. No one ever took the opportunity to say that. It's not a good practice to tell people on the phone, not once but twice that they service your are then they say they dont. Covid-19 or no Covid-19, you should be accountable to what service you offer and where. I guess that's not the case anymore in 2020. The owner made up more excuses than I have ever heard in my lifetime as to how the mistake occurred. Needless to say, I never got my quote and I never will. Precise Tree Care is unskilled and unprofessional. I called for a tree trimming service in July 2022. They sent an arborist to survey and provide an estimate and at no point did he indicate any concerns with completing the job. I signed the proposal and went into a que where my job sat for a month. They finally sent a crew with a leaky truck. The crew determined they could not reach the tree from our driveway and that they would need to send a skilled climber. Several weeks went by and another crew arrived with the climber. He indicated that the tree didn't need to be trimmed and for the very little bit of trimming he would do, it was a waste of his time and our money and left our property. Two weeks later we received an invoice for a $250 mobilization fee. Precise continued to send monthly invoices with escalating fee's and finally a letter threatening collections in December 2022. Precise Tree Care performed absolutely no service on our property. They sent two crews that either could not or would not do the job. I do not recommend this company, I have had a terrible and frustrating experience. Not to mention any time I called the company, no one was available to speak with me, they were always "in the field". I don't see a future for Precise Tree Care, if they continue to treat customers the way they treated me they will be going out of business soon. read more
