Recommendation for Sinnott Tree Services located in McCook This company has been around a long time. We had three large dead trees in our backyard. Being prudent, we shopped around since we knew this would not be a cheap project.. The bids were across the board, from $2300 to $9000. Finally, my husband, who is in the construction trade, told me to get an estimate from Sinnott. He has known the company for many years. Their bid was right in the middle. But the thing that really sold me was that an arborist (tree specialist) came out to do the estimate. In addition to the tree cutting, we showed them some branches we wanted cut down on other trees and were told that it would be very bad for the trees to have done now, it needs to be in the fall so as not to damage the existing tree. No one else told me that. They were just going to cut them down. A group of 4 very polite men came to do the job. They had all of the equipment needed, including a crane and a lift. Two of the trees were very tall and none of the others had that equipment. They were going to climb the trees.. My stumps were ground and everything was cleaned up very well. You might get someone cheaper but not as good. That's it. Just wanted to share. read more

Great experience! Sinnott's responded quickly and provided detailed expert opinion about my tree. The arborist who came out listened to my concerns and explained how he was assessing the tree's health by comparing it to neighboring trees, helping me better understand my tree's condition. He explained the peculiarities of my type of tree and some ways to help keep my tree healthy long term. He was very knowledgeable, helpful, and easy to talk with. read more

Sinnott did a great job trimming up my big maple tree in a difficult location with power lines and cleaned up everything once it was completed. Nicole was great to work with I will be recommending and using them in the future. read more

They arrived on time, removed our tree, and stacked usable wood for us. They trimmed our large maple tree, but we found that it needed more trimming. They returned and continued to trim the branches facing the house. They did a very nice job, and were mindful of other landscape. And, they cleaned up before they left. We would definitely use them again. read more

Sinnott tree services donated a tree to our local school for a silent auction (we won) and they planted our tree this week at our home. They came out the same day we spoke on the phone to assess the area and brought the tree to plant later that day. Communication was fantastic, team was efficient and very knowledgeable. It's clear they have a strong team and value their customers. I will absolutely be using them in the near future for another tree we want and no doubt a great company donating trees and services to local causes! read more

I'm in the quoting process and found Sinnott with good review records. I called them and I'm impressed by their professionalism . Matt is very knowledgeable. When he saw our trees, he immediately pointed out what we should to do to protect them. He's not only a businessman, he's a tree expert. And his assistants are very pleasant. Highly recommend Sinnott for tree removal/trimming services! read more

Just so disappointed in this tree service. We like to support smaller companies. We had an appt with Nichole. She did not show up, we had to call, she said she was running late, gave us a later time, she was late again. Seems knowledgeable about trees but is not a certified Arborist (but says she almost is). We agree with her suggestions and date/price. We arrange to be present and last minute she canceled (broken truck). She said she would call that afternoon to reschedule. No call. Today, one week later , she sends me a text to call her to set up a date. Of coarse, we would not do that after such terrible customer service. It appears from other posters/reviews, she is ok. I would be very careful to use this service if it involves Nichole read more

Sinnot just completed an extensive tree removal at my home. This is the second time we have used them and wouldn't hesitate to do so again. They are professional, proficient and reasonably priced. Highly recommended! read more

Recently had our tree removed from the parkway, through the village. They were quick, friendly and cleaned everything up nicely. I really appreciated them going above and beyond by cutting us slices of the big trunk for us to make a table and have memories of the tree and our home! read more

Had a pine tree fall over during this recent cold snap. In both my and my neighbor's yards. Many other removal services came out, but Nicole of Sinnott came out that night, gave me an estimate, suggested I might save $$ by contacting the power, cable and phone companies since their wires could be involved. Unfortunately, all 3 utilities passed on removing the tree. Since their bid was reasonable and she suggested a cost savings, I gave the job to Sinnott. Once warmer, Nicole and her crew came out and quickly and carefully removed the tree and branches. Great job Nicole! read more

Sinnott's representative, Nicole, estimated the work we requested to address issues with a number of trees on our property. Nicole discussed numerous solutions to ensure all of our concerns would be resolved. Her crew was professional and updated us throughout the process. Our estimate was certainly reasonable and the outcome was all we could have hoped for. Thank you Sinnott directly, and Nicole and her team indirectly, for such great work. read more

This was one of the quickest and painless deals I have ever made in my life. Leaning tree, I left a voicemail and my call was promptly returned. When Matt gave me the cost I could not believe him and had to ask him again. Incredibly fast, incredibly efficient. The 35' leaning tree was removed in the blink of an eye. Highly highly recommend this business for your tree removal needs! Thanks!!!! read more

Was very happy with the service. We had a large tree that needed to be removed between our residence and our neighbors. It had grown around the chain fence, and was into their yard. The day the came, the tree was gone by noon, and did clean up after. They even 'rigged' the fence, so that it would function until we could get someone to come fix it. read more

I contacted Sinnott Tree Services to see if they had a tree root system that I could repurpose to furnish a set in a feature film. Out of every single tree service company in the Chicagoland area they were one of two that responded with incredible service. Every single individual out of the three I had contact with spoke to me with a genuine interest in solving my tree situation and a practicality in their insight. They truly went above and beyond the needs of a regular business and aided me on a personal level. Give them a call. read more

WOW. I am so impressed by the level of knowledge Rick Sinnott has about trees. He is well versed working in the area that we live in. He explained what every tree was, what is infectious and bad for the environment and how the process would work should we hire him. The pricing is very reasonable for the work they did for us and we were very happy to see a crew here on the day to have everything done in a single swoop. Our neighbor allowed us to use his driveway for access to our backyard. There was an issue that a piece of machinery cracked a piece on his concrete, Rick Sinnott quickly addressed the issue and is going to take care of it for the neighbor. We are very grateful to the work that was done and understood that the prior bushes we had took a brunt of the pain from this work but it looks lovely. Thank you Rick and Team and we hope the best for your company in the coming years. read more

Had a great experience with them. Very professional crew. That ended when we had another tree to come down and now we can't get a call back. We left messages on the voicemail and on FB. Nobody reads them and nobody responds. Not returning a customer's call is untenable. Can't have affordable AND professional. read more

The Sinnott Tree Service was contracted by the village to trim the trees on the street side. I understand they have to trim the low hanging limbs I do not understand why they are trimming to the point where there are only a few branches left. The tree doesn't have a pleasant shape to it. It looks like a butcher randomly cut the limbs. I do not recommend anyone hire them unless they don't care what the tree looks like. I am very disappointed in the way it turned out. read more

When my wife & I decided it was time to remove the tree in the backyard, we search high & low for a local tree removal service. We got 3 estimates, checked with our village, and all 3 companies were ones that they had used before, so they came recommended. Sinnott Tree Service was the first one to return my call, and his estimate was not the most expensive and not the least, but his crew did a fabulous job, were on time, cleaned up when they were finished, there was no damage to driveway, all the guys on site were wearing all the proper safety equipment and hauled away all debris--you should see all of the equipment they used, I was very impressed. My neighbor's house was 8 feet away from the tree, and the crew removed the tree with the precision of a skilled surgeon. Keep in mind that the tree that was being removed was at least 40 feet high and a drip ring diameter of 40 feet wide and a trunk that was 3-4 feet in diameter. That was the painless part, losing the tree was the painful part, especially for a tree that was more than 65 years old. We would definitely use them again! read more

We were very happy with our choice to go with Sinnott...Mack's knowledge (and love) of trees was rather impressive and was one of the deciding factors; along with the great pricing. A call was received the day before arrival, allowing us to inform our tenants for parking arrangements. They were rather efficient, with the amazing machinery, completing all the tasks (and even a few extras, shh!) in the estimated time frame. The clean up job was spectacular as well; the crew definitely deserves a gold star - very polite, professional and proficient. We will be using them for all our future tree needs while recommending to anyone willing to listen. *posted on behalf of the Cook County Farm Bureau read more

Sinnott just removed two diseased 30' fir trees from my property. This is a small lot and they had very little room to navigate their gigantic equipment, but they did so perfectly. They impressed us with their expertise and safety protocol, from laying plywood to protect my lawn, to lifting the trees over 40' in the air to clear electrical wires. They left the property spotless, removed the wood chips, filled the area with black dirt and reseeded! I highly recommend Sinnott for their professionalism and expertise! read more

These guys are great. Very impressed with Rick Sinnott and his crew. It took a bit to get my project off the ground, but that was due to all the permits that were required by the City of Chicago when trimming a parkway tree. I wasn't aware of this, but I'm glad that Rick knew. In addition, despite the fact that it took more than 30 days to start the project, Sinnott still honored their original estimate. The work involved trimming two mature trees (Sugar Maple and Honey Locust) which required relieving several of the branches of excess stress--one of which overhung the roof of my home. Needless to say, the tree looks alot different now and the tree should be better positioned to survive our freakish and unpredictable weather. read more

Tried to schedule an estimate for a tree evaluation via their web form last week and phone call on 6/6/16. Have not heard back, and always get a VM when calling. Moving on. read more

Couldn't be happier with Sinnott. We had a huge Siberian Elm in our backyard that was dropping large branches and was unsafe. Mack gave us a quote that was lower than any others we received. We had to coordinate with our neighbors to use their yard for the removal and they even provided the extra insurance documents for our neighbor. You'd never have known they were there - they didn't leave a stick or leaf behind and were very thorough with the clean-up of both yards. What I anticipated would take all day, was done efficiently and safely within 3-4 hours. Their crew is hard working and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend them!! read more

Large oak was uprooted and about to fall on my home. They were out the next morning with two cranes and a team of 6 to carefully remove the tree as well as cleaning up the area afterwards. Complex removal from grove of other large trees. read more

I never used their service directly but when I was looking for a large amount of bulk mulch I contacted them to see if they could assist me. They could not, however, the person who responded recommended I check out the compost program with the Chicago Metropolitan Water Reclamation District. This turned out to be a fantastic suggestion which we ended up going with. They were the only company to respond something other than a 1 sentence "no" or "we can't service you". Really appreciate their customer service/help! read more

Competitively priced tree removal service. Prompt, courteous, knowledgeable. They called upfront before they arrived, cleaned up all the branches, and sent an invoice after the fact. I was also impressed with their level of insight and knowledge on the mulberry tree. Would definitely use again. read more

Fantastic!!! I wish there were 10 stars. I wasn't home when the work was done. When I got home, I couldn't even tell where the work was done. Great service at an outstanding price!! These guys are wonderful!! read more

Very poor service, waited for months last summer for a load of wood that most give away for free. Sinnott wanted $150. got tired of waiting so I went with another vendor as I needed to buck it up and split it before June. gave them another shot last week, called again and no response. got a nasty text from Rick today saying I should use who I used last year. In this day and age where customer service is so rare, I felt a need to write a review of praise for Sinnott Tree Service, specifically for Rick Sinnott. I called Sinnott Tree Service about a problem with exposed tree roots from a recent culvert digging and heavy rains. Mr. Rick Sinnott took the time to share his arborist expertise with me and told me what to do. He was very patient and his gracious kindness is worth a million dollars worth of advertising. I will be telling all my friends, neighbors and family about Sinnott Tree Service. Their business is a rare gem and I highly recommend their services. read more

I had Sinnott tree service cut down a old and very tall elm tree. Excellent job and left the area nice and clean. Overall I recommend them for the value as they offered the best rate out of the five companies that I received estimates from. Arrived on time and completed job fairly quickly considering the huge tree they had to cut down. Highly recommend them. read more

My experience with Sinnott Tree service was fantastic! They are very knowledgeable and have all the right equipment to do a quick, efficient, and damage-free job. Mack was helpful and happy to answer questions. Their quote came in just two days after I requested they look at my property and their price was very competitive ($200-1800 less than other quotes I got from four other companies on Yelp) to remove two trees. They scheduled and completed the job within the next week. They even left us some wood to use in the fire pit! Would definitely call again! read more

I am extremely pleased with the recent work performed on my property in Park Ridge. My contact was Mack, and I was relieved to know that they would be able to make the long trip here. The work consisted of trimming very large oak, maple and spruce trees, as well as removing all debris. Throughout the process, I was so impressed with Mack, who is the most knowledgeable arborist. He had excellent advice and supervised a very competent crew. I am so pleased with the result, and can highly recommend Mack and Sinnott! read more

I was very impressed with Sinnot Tree Service. They did quality work for me removing a large sycamore tree in my yard (in a tight area) and trimming another large honey locust tree. The crew doing the work were professional, efficient, highly skilled, knew their trees and had quality equipment. The owner and crew were also pleasant and in my opinion the job was very reasonably priced. They also did a great job cleaning up.....my yard looked much better than when they started! I am so glad I called them and I will again. read more

Rick was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and most importantly--sincere. He helped us make some decisions about what to do with a tree in our backyard. He was very honest, friendly and wasn't trying to 'sell' something we didn't need. I'm very glad we chose Sinnott Tree Service and we'll be recommending them to our friends and neighbors! read more

Really disappointed in my online exchange these these folks. I asked for a bid to remove my tree in the city. The response was that I should hire someone local and that it would cost me too much to have them come into the city. Well, then don't put a picture of work being done at St. Ignatius (in the city 4 miles from my house) on your website. To me, it seemed as though they just didn't want the business. Could have made a great customer out of me as I have great ties to the southwest suburbs. read more

Well, forget my opinion, last night proved it all after 70 mph winds and 3" of rain. After their trimming 05/14, I did not find a single branch off the tree this morning. Unfortunately, neighbors trees were damaged. Note that anyone with a polesaw, rope, and insurance document can take down a tree. Conversely, these guys are arborists, have purchased premium equipment (Stihl) and know the trees from a scientific view. Enough said. Use them. They are great people to know for references to other services. read more
