Summary: Excellent food quality. GARBAGE service! Get take out and don't even bother sitting down for a meal with any level of customer service. You've been warned. Last night was my second time eating at Meat Point, as I wanted to give the restaurant a second chance and providing better service, and unfortunately, it was the worst service I've ever gotten while eating out and far worse than my first visit. FIRST EXPERIENCE: Went to dinner with my family (4 people) a few months back and ordered a mixed dip platter, grilled platter, and Turkish coffees at the end. After being seated, it took quite a long time for someone to come by and take our order or even offer water. The meals arrived with an OK speed, but the most annoying part was that EVERY single staff is just constantly behind their counter / desk area and not coming by to check up on you, no water service, no interaction, nothing. We literally had to flag down staff for the most basic things like, extra bread, refilling our glass, TO TAKE OUR EMPTY PLATES AWAY. It was so annoying. My parents had even noticed that all the staff are looking 'busy' behind the counters and not paying attention to any of the guests. SECOND EXPERIENCE (Last Night): Before going, I had warned my 2 friends that the service was going to be bad but the food will be delicious. I wanted to give Meat Point a second chance at better service. Surprise surprise. It was exactly what I warned them about about and even worse than my first experience. We were seated really quickly, and the restaurant was less than half full (this is important to note). It still took 15 minutes for anyone to come back to our table to take our orders and bring water. Food arrived on time, no complaints here and it was really delicious. But again, not a single staff person EVER came back to check on us if things were ok, never refilled our water, didn't interact with us, at all. I personally had to flag down our waitress 3 times for more water, additional bread, and to remove empty plates from our table. ALL BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE TASKS / DUTIES for any basic restaurant. Just like my first visit, every single staff was buzzing around their counter / kitchen area talking amongst each other and seemingly busy on tasks that could have waited (ie. folding aprons and napkins). Even the owner was sitting at an empty desk on his laptop and phone drinking tea, while guests were in the restaurant eating and waiting for staff to come around. This is a huge HUGE missed opportunity by staff and especially the owner. Talk to your customers, check on them, smile, introduce yourself, ask for feedback, offer dessert, WALK AROUND THE RESTAURANT AND SEE HOW YOU CAN HELP!!! Guests shouldn't have to constantly flag down waiters or make hard eye contact just to get service. Tips to Management: - Train your staff basic customer service in the restaurant / service industry - Teach them to say hello, introduce themselves by name - Bring water to the table by default right away - After serving meals, come by within 5 minutes of serving to make sure that the order was correct, customer is happy, or if they need anything like more water, hot sauce, more utensils, etc. etc. JUST GO CHECK ON YOUR CUSTOMERS, please!!!!!! Talk to us, ask us if everything is okay! If it tastes good, etc. It's such a basic thing to do! - Owner: Go talk to your guests. If you're in the restaurant, use this opportunity to speak to guest and interact with them to make it a more personable experience. Set an example for your staff. I can't imagine what the service must be like when the restaurant is actually full lol. As a note: I'm a very easy-going, fair, and honest person when it comes to eating out, giving chances. But this restaurant, by far, has provided the worst customer service I've ever experienced in Toronto, TWICE, at a sit-down full service restaurant. Don't believe me? Go and try your luck. read more

Meat Point - Platter for 2 (there were 3 of us) but we got an app so this was good enough - Turkish Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

the food was ok but unfortunately we had a bad experience with manager and their policy. they have a hilarious policy to order. I won't go there again. Ambiance not bad too. The others Turkish restaurants are better and more friendly. read more

Really quite amazing and worth a visit. The meat platters specifically are some of the best in Toronto, and their presentation is really great. Flavour and quality wise, this is amongst the best of Turkish in Toronto. My only real complaint however is how slow the service is. read more

Went here for father's day with my parents and my husband. The food was absolutely delicious. We got two dips and a salad to share (all complimentary) which I think was their Meatpoint salad. I did not get a chance to take a photo but it was so colorful and refreshing. I loved the yogurt dip too. We got the lamb skewers and the BBQ platter to share between the 4 of us. One order of the BBQ platter, which is supposed to be for 2 people, would have been enough for 4!!! Portions are huge! The lamb was so tender, served with two types of rice and veggies. I loved it. But we all really enjoyed the bbq platter. It had all sorts of kebob in it with rice and bread that was soaked in a delicious tomato sauce, and a rich creamy yogurt with pistachios... I could go on about this dish forever. It was kept in a metal dish that was filled with charcoals underneath it so it kept the food warm the whole time. Every bite had a new flavour. It was amazing. I will 100% be back to bring friends to try the platter. We also had their baklava which had a rich pistachio flavour, and a dessert dish that had cheese in it (I think it was called Kunefe). That one was really buttery and crispy; a bit heavy for me but it went really well with the tea. Oh, did I mention that we got 4 cups of complimentary tea as well? Served in traditional turkish glasses. A perfect way to end the meal. Best of all: the people working there were so absolutely nice!!! They recommended different options to us when we couldn't decide what to get for dessert, checked on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed, and at the end we had a long chat about their catering options and food delivery. Amazing staff! They loved their job and you could really feel it! Loved Meat Point. Whether you have had Turkish food before or not, go there and try their BBQ platter and baklava+tea. You will not be disappointed!!! read more

I'm a fan of Turkish food and from all the Turkish restaurants, this is the best so far in Toronto. If you are not alone, go with Pasha Sultan Platter, perfect for sharing. Lovely Turkish deserts are available too. Antep Sarma is full of pistachio. read more

Meat Point - Pasha Sultan Mixed - Turkish Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

Most people only post reviews on poor experiences and this was horrible. Poor service and extremely overpriced for the quality of the food received. We came for breakfast and after a long wait, were told that none of the lunch items are available until later in the day. It was also indicated that we can order any of the breakfast hot plates. When the rest of our party appeared, we waited again for rather long time and this time were advised that the only option is the all you can eat breakfast. This was not mentioned 20 minutes earlier and in fact made the earlier communication feel misleading as the server indicated that the hot plates are available for order. We decided to go through with the order and the food was just alright - not much better than a chain spot but more than double the price ($53.99 per order, with each order containing 2 hot plates). Also the all you can eat means all you can eat sides, not mains, meaning you can't order as many hot items as you'd like. Again, misleading. They also automatically charge $53.99 per 2 people at your table so it adds up pretty quickly even though the menu indicates each order can feed a minimum of 2 people. Would not recommend at all. read more

Excellent! We had the BBQ platter for 3. It was incredible. Beef/chicken shawarma, beef tikka, Adana kabab, Iskender donair, and grilled wings with rice and burgul! Complementary salad and tea on the house. Ended the meal with kunafa which was amazing as well. read more

The space is very airy with lots of light and seating. Perfect for families with kids. We ordered; Lentil soup Sheppard salad Adana kebap Beyti Kebap Kadayif Lentil soup was perfect. We ordered half a portion but later wished we got a full one. Sheppard salad is a very traditional salad in Turkey, with tomatoes, peppers and onions. I would have preferred the vegetables to be cut into smaller pieces and a bit of vinegar in it, but nevertheless, the salad was very fresh and tasty. The kebaps were by far the best we've had in the city. Very soft and perfectly seasoned. The kadayif was very good with the perfect amount of syrup and pistachio. Overall we were extremely pleased with our experience. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. We will be back to try their doner. read more

Entered the restaurant and I was a bit confused if it was a self serve restaurant or full service restaurant. Someone ended up approaching us, seated us and took our orders. Saw pictures on Yelp and noticed that portions are huge so we decided to share the mixed doner between two people. Mixed doner - rice scoops came smaller than I expected, but everything else were portioned as expected. The meats were both really good, I personally preferred the chicken over the veal because it was more tender. The salad was not dressed which was fine because the meat was nicely seasoned. The rice had a stale flavour to it which was not very appetizing, maybe it was just a bad batch but it sort of ruined the meal for me. Overall, a decent visit. I am intrigued to try other items on their menu and maybe try the rice again on another day. read more

Food was good but they have a weird rule for customers who order their platters.. If a platter is ordered and you have more than the serving size recommended on the menu, you will have to pay an additional amount per head. So if you do go with a large group of more than 5, just be aware. read more

We tried the beef Doner plate and it was delicious and enough for 2. We sat outside on the patio. The service was a bit slow but if was late around 10 in the evening. read more

I had the chicken shish as a wrap and the fermented carrot juice in a small bottle all the way from Turkey. The meat was tender with a touch of cooked tomato I later found out was a hint of antep esme. The veggies and pita were very fresh. I was waiting for the umph of a home made sauce to hit me but there was none. Huh. The sandwich was juicy enough but here I was, analyzing sauciness. I noticed this at another Turkish spot near my work so I guessed the chefs let the ingredients speak for themselves. I love homemade sauces but I can appreciate good ingredients simply prepared. With the mystery deepening I went back in and another waiter explained the sandwich is served as I had it but you can ask for the tomato based antep esme or a yogurt mint tzatziki called haydari. As for the spicy fermented carrot juice, it's clearly a long lived 'memories of grandma and grandpa' acquired taste. The guys front of the house were responsive and friendly and the small restaurant is clean and atttactive with huge windows and lots of light. I'd definitely return to try more. read more

Went for breakfast with my family and we were very disappointed. Maybe it was our fault for not calling to confirm, however, be warned you can ONLY get the all you can eat Turkish spread. We were more interested in ordering single items as we aren't very big eaters, and when we got there they weren't very willing to work with us and ultimately we had to leave. I'm sure the food is good, but had a very poor experience with the staff and odd 'policies'. read more

close to work, saw a "grand opening" sign and had to give a go. tried both the meat platters, one with a wooden stage, really liked the display. The other came in a big hot pot dish that kept the food warm, which is what sold it to me. I think the regular wooden stage one was a bit better, as you can taste the meat flavors better, and not as much sauce and cream/butter. salad is complimentary at the beginning. i felt the time i went during the week there was also complimentary tea at the end, and also olives, on the weekend it gets really busy they forgot that step. Can't say i like turkish beverages very much, but it was good to try the yogurt and beets/spicy drink. i feel authentic. read more

The best döner in the city! Service quality is wonderful and foods are delicious. I absolutely recommend!

I've visited this place on four occasions now. I've always thought this place was very good value for quality and quantity and that's why I kept returning. On my third visit, I noticed that that portions had changed. They used to include generous portions of the rice and bulgar on the doner plates but now it's a smaller serving. Completely fine with me as I don't usually finish it all anyway. But on my fourth visit last night, even though the menu still says its included, they no longer include the bulgar which was my favourite. I asked about this and the server and it was confirmed. I wish they would give you the choice between rice or bulgar and not just omit one completely. The service is always very friendly but not very attentive unfortunately. Anyways, still think this place is pretty good but not what it used to be. read more

Great food, I have a problem with the fruit fly flying around my food. This is very disappointed, I could not enjoy my food. Then out of no where a big ass fly came an sat in my arm. I had to pack my food and leave. I hope the next time I come here this problem is solved. read more

Probably the best shawarma / doner place in the city. Meats so tasty that it's one of the few places where I don't require sauce. Friendly service for dine in and take out customers I was greeted with a tea. It's a tad more pricier than its other competitors in the area but the food, service and overall experience really does speak for itself. 5/5 well deserved. read more

I would have given 6 stars if I could. Every little piece of food we had was spectacular and authentic. If you are familiar with Turkish cusine you will definately be satisfied with the taste. If you order Beyti you may be surprised the way it'been served but do not judge untill you take a bite. Presantation is also very nice. Colors on the plate looks great! They just could lose the paper on the board but that's perfectly fine. I defnately recommend and will be back for more. read more

Excellent Turkish food! Enjoyed the meat platter for two and some dips. Service was friendly. Can't wait to go back!
