The staff was friendly and polite. I ordered the ham and cheese cachito, and oh my goodness... it instantly took me back to the ones I used to eat as a kid in school in Venezuela. The size was perfect, the flavor was spot on, and even though it was a little greasy, it was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is nothing fancy, just a normal bakery vibe, but I didn't care. The cachito was that good. I didn't try anything else, so I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but for the cachitos alone, I'd happily drive from Miami Lakes all the way to Kendall again. Solid 9.8/10. If you're looking for an authentic Venezuelan cachito experience, this is the place. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, the coffee just wasn't my favorite--I was hoping for a bit more flavor. The service was also a little hit or miss. We were overlooked a couple of times, but it seemed like the staff was handling a busy rush, so I don't think it was intentional. Even though it wasn't the best experience, I'd be open to giving it another try on a less hectic day to see if it's different.

So I looked up something healthy near me and somehow landed on The Avalon Miami... and WOW, what a find. I was craving waffles, so I had to go for the protein waffle--and the best part is you get to pick 4 toppings. I chose banana, strawberry, Nutella, and peanut butter... OMG. Absolutely incredible. Like, next-level delicious. I'm not exaggerating when I say I was literally doing a happy dance while eating it. My boyfriend went for the organic empanadas--one beef and like three cheese ones--and he was OBSESSED with the cheese. The dough is made from yuca, and that combo? Straight up dangerous. So good it should come with a warning. We also got two protein smoothies, both with 24g of protein. The Avalon mocha had an espresso shot with chocolate protein--rich, smooth, and honestly perfect. The Tropical Twist was mango, pineapple, coconut, and vanilla protein... super refreshing, light, and very tropical vibes. I genuinely can't even put into words how good everything tasted. It's one of those places where you go thinking "healthy option" and leave like "wait... why is this better than dessert??" 1000% coming back.

Music was a vibe as I remember walking in hearing Bob Marley "Three Little Birds" and then Stevie Wonder "Ribbon in the Sky." Yup! Already hooked lol the guy at the register (I wanna say he's the owner) was so kind. Gave great suggestions. I specifically got the chocolate chip muffin because he said he has one everyday lol I haven't tried it but I don't doubt it's good! My husband got a strawberry shortcake donut which was delish! In which they let me know it's from another business but I forgot the name, however, really good donut. For our drinks, I got an iced pumpkin latte and my husband got a honey maple latte. Both were perfect. Generous amount and perfect sweetness! So there's a really cute library in the back that catches my attention. I immediately go there as we wait for our order and picked out a book that I immediately start to read. As I'm reading, the owner (wife of the guy I believe I met at the counter) says I can keep the book! Excuse me what?! I was so happy lol what a gem of a coffee shop. I'll be back to enjoy their other menu items as they also have warm breakfast items etc. Lastly, they also own Local Pie which is right next to it and it's also delish! Didn't even know it until I asked because the guy at the counter (so sorry I don't know his name) had a shirt on that said Local Pie. Anyway, go to both! You won't regret it.
