We were warmly greeted at MCK by a nice gentleman who could've been the manager or owner? When he found out we were newcomers, he patiently explained how to order and to briefly describe the extensive menu of food and coffees. You place your order with the cashier, pay first, and then select a table whereupon your food and drink is brought to your table. My wife really enjoyed the cappuccino so much that she ended up ordering two. My cold brew was robust and delicious, but I ordered caramel flavoring, and there was hardly any, which was disappointing. We both ordered the champion's breakfast, which I think is a limited time item coinciding with the World Cup. The steak was cut into bite-size tidbits and was impeccably seasoned. The eggs and potatoes accompanying them were seasoned just as nicely. To me, the only downside was standing in line and ordering because it got very crowded and the servers were always trying to walk by to get to the kitchen. My friend has always talked to me about this place for their coffee alone so I decided to try it out with my boyfriend one day. We came to get some coffee, I got a pistacio almond milk coffee (or so i thought) and my boyfriend got a lavender regular milk coffee. To start off, they didn't put the correct milk in either coffees, and when I went to ask them about if they put the correct milk in them, the man irritatedly answered me with a lie and said yes he did. I know they weren't because of the fact that the coffee tasted thicker and I cannot drink regular milk and my body immediately reacted to it. Horrible service is the first thing I will say about this place. The PRICE! my goodness this place is NOT WORTH THE PRICE! way too expensive for a mediocre size meal that I feel I could've made with more love at home. The food tasted good but not good enough for the arm and leg they are charging. there should not be a reason i'm paying $100 for 2 coffees, MINI EMPANADAS and 2 sandwiches. I am normally a Macondo fan but this last time it was a total fail. Ordered two lunch specials to go, an espresso and smoothie. The lunch order to go took a long time. They gave the coffee and smoothie first. By the time we received the food and left, in the car, realized the espresso coffee was COLD and a HORRIBLE flavor: old, bitter, even kind of salty. So weird. I have ordered coffee plenty of times and espresso is one of our favorites but what happened? The smoothie had no flavor: as if the fruit was not well chosen. You couldn't distinguish any fruit flavor. Even though it had chunks of fruit that didn't get blended all the way. We couldn't say anything because we had already left with our to go order. The sandwhich a caprese was supposed to come in a ciabatta but instead it came in a BURNT wrap. It was missing the basil and tomato sauce. The bowl was very sad looking with soggy sweet potatoes. This breakfast place is some of the best food I've had in Miami! After a week on a cruise, this was the perfect first meal back on land. The menu is extensive, which options for everyone. I highly recommend getting a drink with your meal - the chai latte was one of the best I've had. The serving sizes are large, so don't be afraid to split something OR come hungry. Definitely going back! I think I found my new breakfast spot. Everything was delicious, nothing was a miss. We were four dining and all enjoyed our choices. The moment I took a sip, it brought back a wave of great memories from my student days at FIU. I had never been to this location before, but have to admit that they hit the nail on the head with their latte. Now originally I sat down to enjoy a warm beverage to square away, some work stuff in between the ambience, the customer service and the quality of the coffee I ended up ordering one for the road. When I saw they had empanada de queso I didn't hesitate to place an order in boy was I glad I had done so about an hour and a half later. The texture of the empanada was crunchy were had to be in soft and warm where it needed to be. I chose light eyes for my cold brew coffee, which I enjoyed with a single packet of raw Brown sugar. All in all, it was a great visit. If you're looking to stop by midday, I would advise doing so prior to 10 AM because quality coffee attracts south Meridian's like moths to a flame; this place will get packed and stay that way due to the great options at hand read more

Great place! This was a hit with our group of adults and kids on vacation. There was plenty of seating and so many options for food and drink. The coffee was great and the service was friendly. This was my first time here . To begin with , horrible service . I got here at 5:45 and I understand they are about to close but I ask the lady for the vanilla cake that they had in display which is not made in the kitchen and she said she can't sell it because they're about to close . It's literally a cake that you get from the fridge but okay I'm glad I didn't get it . The coffee I ordered was a latte and I noticed it was more milk than coffee . After I processed to tell the guy if he could do more coffee which he proceeded to charge me 7 dollars for two espresso shots . Unbelievable, never coming back here again . This is a local coffee shop around the corner of my house. I've been living here and coming to this shopping center for years but never ventured in - today was that day. The place is small, but with a cool vibe. The food was good, although all I ordered was a breakfast croissant, a ham & cheese empanada, breakfast potatoes and a latte. Not much to go on. Let's start with the obvious since they are a coffee house, and which was also their best item, their latte - coffee was VERY SMOOTH, without any burnt or bitter flavor, and the milk was creamy and frothed to perfection. The croissant was also good - one of the few places where you get a real buttery tasting croissant, and a large one too - they do charge accordingly. The egg, ham and cheese croissant came up to around $14 because the ham and croissant are both extra. The only cheese they offer at the establishment is mozzarella, so as long as you're good with that, the sandwich won't blow your socks off, but it will be satisfying. My companion had the empanada and I'm not sure if she told me it was alright - I think it was - and it better have been, because at $4.20 for an empanada in Miami, it better be a great empanada LOL. I'd say it was more of a $3.50 empanada and that's already at the top end for this type, in my personal opinion, but then again. I didn't taste if it was perfection. I asked for a side of breakfast potatoes since sandwich comes 'solo' and that was a cool $3, but was the small price matched the small portion, which should be OK for most people. They do seem to pour some 'after-the-fact' garlic salt/seasoning, to which I happen to be intolerant (those supermarket garlic salt type of seasonings). Also, these square fries were a bit overcooked and cardboardsy on the outside, with the meat missing a bit from the inside; so I'd say try their regular French fries (which I don't know if they are any better seeing as I've not tried them yet), but might be more typical. Service was decent - you order at counter (staff was nice and polite) and they bring food to table; although, they seemed to serve the lattes for 2 to 3 tables that came after me before mine. At some point waitress came with 2 lattes to our table and I advised I had only ordered one, and she immediately went to leave w both of them, so I said, no, wait, I did order one, leave one; and she told me those 2 were then for another table - again, one of the tables that ordered after me. Other than that, service was decent and the latte was worth the wait. They have some of the best coffee I've had in town or anywhere around the world, for that matter. read more

I had a great time visiting Macondo for the first time! Firstly, I loved the name, and I hope it's a reference to Gabriel Garcia Marquez! The ambiance was fun, bright, and colorful. The service was so nice! Even though there was a line behind me, they didn't make me feel rushed and let me ask questions. The tea was delicious! I wish I remember the name, but it's their white tea offering. My friend and I ordered Fabio's Favorite (fried eggs on toast with avocado, tomato, and pesto), and we were not disappointed! It was definitely messy but so worth it! My other friend said she enjoyed her avocado toast and coffee (I'm not a coffee person so I forgot what she ordered). We all shared the guava cake, which was tasty and not too sweet. I had a hard time choosing what to order because they had so many vegetarian options! Went here for the first time, and will be the last. Placed an order for three people, then it was my turn to order. The guy running the register was asked about an issue with someone's food, and he walks away from the register. He put a kid that barely spoke English in charge of the remainder of the order. The new kid had no clue, tried to read back the order but couldn't. Long story short the original guy didn't place items that had been asked for. Three people got their food, and the fourth waited a bit, then inquired abt their meal, which the order was never placed. They were more than happy to come charge for the ignored order instead of making it right. The person decided that since everyone was mostly done, they just wouldn't eat. We won't be going back here. The oversight was completely unnecessary, and should have been handled differently. If you're assigned to the register, do your job, regardless what your relationship is with the owner. read more

Nice shop with a friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the wait for our coffee was quite long. We ordered two 20-oz caramel lattes, but the caramel was never added. I also noticed one cup was filled to the top while the other was only about half full, and it was shrugged off before the lids were put on. Came back here and once again it was packed on a Saturday morning. Good for them but the way the restaurant is designed it's weird. The line wraps around the middle of the restaurant around people sitting at their tables.... Not to mention all the tables are packed so I ended up sitting at the bar at the window. Which is fine I was alone, but still I think the set up of the restaurant is weird and stressful to not know if you have a place to sit once you order your food. Any way, I ordered Fabio's Favorite for my breakfast. And I was disappointed. It wasn't bad but really didn't have much flavor. There was barely pesto on it and everything was just plain. I looked around for salt and pepper and there was none around. Server never came back after dropping the food off so I was on my own to eat my flavorless breakfast. This is a great coffee shop in the Kendall area. Service wise everybody on the staff is extremely nice and very helpful. This is a busy location so the staff is working like a very well oiled machine! In terms of decor, it is a smaller location, so it is very busy, but the tables are spacious and it's very vibrant and colorful! The decor is very coffee oriented and perfectly on theme! Even the front door handle is coffee themed! All the food is delicious and best part is that they offer breakfast options all day. The tuna salad is a definite must try and I can't wait to go back to try their pizza! Also, if you're a coffee lover, this is a must try spot. Would really like to support this place but will not be back. Employee David Alejandro, once I spoke in English, treated me completely different from other customers who spoke Spanish. That is a shame. He took away my plates and cups aggressively without excusing himself and did not greet or say goodbye or thanks or spoke at all at the counter or at the table whereas he was cordial and shared greetings thanks and goodbyes with all other customers. I just arrived from a long trip and came here before closing as had not eaten all day. Not the greeting expected from a local business in Miami. I can't recall being treated in such an unwelcome manner for a simple counter order of coffee and breakfast, and ironically tipping for service. Macondo managers were sitting in a table next to me and did not notice. If this means that English speakers are not welcome here then will find another local coffee shop that welcomes customers who speak all languages. read more
