I stopped by Dolce Venezia just a little while ago, and honestly, my experience was very different from some of the reviews I had read. The employee working there was a friendly and welcoming gentleman (not the woman mentioned in some older reviews). He was very patient, offered great service, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The shop was also clean and well maintained. We ordered two extra-large cups for $11.50 each, which I thought was a fair price for the quality and portion size. The tip wasn't included, and I was happy to leave one because he truly deserved it. Maybe the shop is under new management, but whatever has changed, it's working. I tried Sicilian Pistachio, Vanilla Bean, and Tiramisu, while my wife chose Mango, Italian Espresso, and Caribbean Coconut. Every flavor we sampled was delicious, creamy, and full of flavor. The Sicilian Pistachio and Italian Espresso were our favorites, but we honestly enjoyed all six flavors. This place deserves much better reviews than some of the older ones suggest. I came in. It was dead. No one around. A lady came up to me, not so pleasant. I wanted 2 scoops of 2 different flavors so I had to get the cup that was $8.99. I have been to many gelato stores. This lady gave me the smallest scoops. She barely tried to make it smooth and look nice. I still went ahead and paid. She definitely over changed me too because it was over the regular tax amount plus the $8.99 price. The Gelato was okay, I have had better. Will not be going back again. For being expensive ice cream, the service should be better. They never answer phones. I came at 5:17 PM on a Monday, the sign says open, there's ice cream out, and the door is locked. No one is answering or picking up the phone. They need to lower their prices because they're overpricing their products and can't even provide good / reliable service. Glad to be supporting local businesses during this time. They have plenty of flavors, and I love the chocolate/nut/creamy varieties more, as they are very smooth and creamy. Horrible place. This is the second time I've gone to this gelato and it is always closed even though it says open on their website. They have an employee there but the door is locked and they won't open the door for you. They never answer the phone. This is so disrespectful to customers. Great to find a Gelato shop nearby! We were craving Run Raising and Dark Chocolate Gelato and Dolce Venezia fulfilled our craving. My favorite was the Dark Chocolate flavor. They do have a wide variety of flavors and offer cup options, cones, and waffle cups. We also tried the Rum Raisin flavor ( it tasted good but was too sweet for my liking) and also the Mango flavor ( this was good and a bit sweeter than usual). The shop is a bit small, however, they offer outdoor seating as well. As to the service, it was good enough to get in and out without any complaints. I definitely recommend this establishment and it is a good runner up to my all time favorite "Freddo Gelato". read more

At last! A much awaited and needed Gelateria is here...Kendall has a brand new Gelato and Sorbetto Shop! Located in the Kendale Lakes Plaza just right off Kendall drive and 137, in a small but cute little corner, the friendly shop does not dissapoint. The Place is colorfull and the Gelato Flavor's are beautifully displayed like the Authentic Italian Gelato Stores. I had a small cup of the strawberry cheesecake, it was delicious and the portion satisfying. They also sell popsicles for kids, mini desserts, and coffee. I'd go here for Gelato, but if I had my pick between here and Doral, I'd go to "Made in Italy" over coming here, just for the closer authenticity (neither are 100%). Here they server Nestlé, but at "Made in Italy" they serve Lavazza, which is authentic Italian coffee. Decided to try Dolce's gelato and it was just okay. I've had much better in The Grove and around town. I tried the coconut, passion fruit, hazelnut crunch and pistachio. Coconut was good, passion fruit was typical, a little strong (expected). Hazelnut was just okay. The pistachio didn't taste like pistachio at all. I can't even explain the taste. Maybe cookie crumbs.
