I hadn't been here in yrs so we decided to grab lunch. The restaurant hasn't changed much and the abundance of items are still there. I wanted to get a turkey legs but they didn't have any so I decided to get the fried swai fish dinner. The fish was fried perfectly, just the right amount of seasoning but not over powering. My sides were the okra and stuffing. The okra was delicious and the stuffing while ok wasn't as good as I remember it to be. The rolls are still fresh baked and fluffy. For dessert I got a small peach cobbler to go. I would recommend Piccadilly's peach cobbler over peach cobbler factorys any day of the week!!!!!. In these economic times to get two full course home cooked meals for $28 is such a great deal. I would recommend this location.

Picadilly is a chain of cafeteria style restaurants found mainly in the south and Gulf Coast. The first Piccadilly Cafeteria opened in 1932 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Picadilly was bought by T.H. "Tandy" Hamilton in 1944. In 1988 they purchased another cafeteria chain, Morrison's Cafeterias which was founded by J. A. Morrison in 1920. At their height, there was 270 restaurants but poor management led to bankruptcy in 2003 and again in 2012 and they were sold off to Yucaipa Companies and Diversified Investment Management Group. By 2012 they were down to only 41 locations. South Florida had two Piccadilly Cafeterias, one in Hialeah at the Westland Mall and on the Palm Springs Mile. Both are now closed butthere is a Facebook page dedicated their memory. Today there are only two locations left in Florida, Jacksonville and this one in Hollywood! I couldn't believe there was still one left here and I made it a point to stop by for lunch.' As soon as I walked in I was flooded with nostalgia. Even the decor looks the same as I remembered. You grab a try and slide it down the line telling them what you want added to your plate. Meals include a protein, two sides, and a bread. You can add more sides for an additional price. They also have a selection of desserts of cakes, pies, and cobblers. Expect to find homestyle dishes like chicken, teriyaki chicken, fish, and fried shrimp. Vegetarians can order the four vegetable plate. I had the roast beef drenched in au jus, carrot souffle, and broccoli rice au gratin. It was all as good as I remembered, especially the decadent carrot souffle which is a dessert in itself. I just found a copycat recipe for the Picadilly carrot souffle and it is getting added to the Easter dinner menu. So many of our memories are associated with food and this was like a warm hug from the past. I started to tell a server how excited I was that there was still a Picadilly left and she said honey we hear that all the time. I gather a lot of their diners come here for the memories. So many of us grew up eating at cafeteria style restaurants with beloved family members no longer here. Eating here is a way to connect to the past. The restaurant was filled on the week day I visited so hopefully they will be here for a long time to come. I am already planning a visit back with a family member who is going to be elated to come here.

This place is nostalgic. I thought all of the locations were closed until we rode past this location while visiting South Florida. I had to do a uturn for some takeout. Ordered the chopped steak and fish & shrimp and everything was delicious!! It definitely took me back to my childhood. Prices are reasonable and the staff was nice. The building could use a little TLC, but at least they are still open.

My family and I went to Piccadilly cafeteria for our annual New Year's day dinner. The restaurant was very clean, especially around the different food stations. We were greeted by each server and host, as we made our way through the line. As we paid for our food, we had a host that came and took our trays to our tables which was greatly appreciated. I decided to try their blackened catfish, with a side of black-eyed peas and carrots soufflé. This catfish was amazing! I was given a nice portion size; the catfish was seasoned very well and tender. The vegetables on top of the catfish tasted great as well. The food was so good, I almost forgot to take a picture of it lol. My favorite side dish from them has always been the carrot soufflé. Also this was my first time trying their black-eyed peas, and the peas were great. As always I can't wait to return to this restaurant.

Fried fish, steamed broccoli, sautéed squash, mashed potatoes, roll. Good, but not hot.

So I haven't been to Picadilly since my days in Houston, so it was cool to wax nostalgic with a meal at an old favorite spot. For years, I've pretty much gotten the same meal every time that I visit Picadilly - fried fish, mashed potatoes, broccoli, roll. Overall, the meal was good but I take issue with instant mashed potatoes. No way should a relatively good meal be totally jacked with instant anything! Otherwise, no complaints. Staff was friendly and engaging, which made for a pleasant experience.

It was a nice and inexpensive restaurant. My family and I really appreciate the helpfulness of the staff and they were very accommodating to our party size. Our waiter (which I can't remember his name) was really attentive and kind hearted. He really did make our Easter very special.

My husband ordered fried tilapia, yams, and lima beans. All dinners comes with a rice. We had pigeon peas and rice. My husband went in the restaurant to pick up the food. He came back and as I was looking over the food, I didn't see any cornbread. I saw the reviews on YELP, so I asked him to ask can we purchase cornbread or do they have any. The female employee stated she gave us some. No, we didn't have any. My husband came back to check and none was in our bag. She said that she gave us some. First of all, we would not ask for anything that we didn't pay for. If you look at how much we dine out, you would know that we spend money really well, and don't need any handouts. I was really disappointed! But anyway, she gave us what we were supposed to have, which was the cornbread what we NEVER received. My husband said he think that it was the owner that told the employee not to argue with the customer. That was unacceptable, PERIOD! :-( The food score: My food- collard greens-8 potato salad-4 Pigeon peas and rice-4 Turkey-8 Cornbread-10 Husband food- Fried tilapia-7 Pigeon peas and rice-6 Yams-6 Lima beans-5 Cornbread-10 *needed more seasoning on fish, and Lima beans. It was also a task order as they were out of a lot of items on the menu so the menu was very limited. I ended up ordering a wing meal, which was about $19 with two sides. I also ordered the kids meal. The chicken wing meal was five wings, portion of rice, candied yams, and macaroni and cheese . I will say that portion sizes were a bit small for the price. The yams were perfectly seasoned not too sweet not too tart. The macaroni and cheese was also very delicious. It had the right amount of cheese and the right amount of crisps on top. I wish there was a little bit more to taste, and the wings were perfectly fried and seasoned well. I will say the chicken tenders for the kids meal were very tiny. They were more like strips instead of actual full-size tenders and they were packaged with the fries which made them extremely sweaty and wet, and the fries were also very soggy. I would recommend packaging the items separately and not stuffed in a box to sweat together. The drink for the kids meal was very tasty a little on the sweet side. It was their mystery tropical drink. Customer service was extremely friendly. I had to ask for condiments and napkins but overall they seem like young kids that did their best. I will say the price is a little bit on the tad side. This was almost $30 and the serving sizes just weren't there for the money. But the taste was great. I'll definitely try again as I really wanna try a few other items on the menu that they were sold out of.

As odd as it is to go during the day and have brunch, I would say it is the move. You pull into a plaza where everything else is closed except for this business and say hi to the security guard stationed at the entrance of the place---at 11 AM---to walk into a lounge beautifully decorated with green walls, floral accents and a disco ball. It is clear that the majority of patrons come much later in the day, like after 9 PM, to get bottle service listening to a DJ or any other performer. This would explain why the air conditioning was cranked so high, to accommodate the bodies and electricity that would pack the place much later. Our server didn't crack a smile but immediately brought us water after we asked and rounded back twice to take our order. Like I said, going during the day when there are only about 5 other parties dining seems to be the move for prompt service and food preparation. The dishes came out super hot and fresh. The Creole Seafood Omelette ($26) was chock full of well seasoned shrimp and lobster and cheese, with a creamy roux on the side that was good to occasionally dip a bite into but wasn't necessary all the time. The potatoes that came on the side were just the right amount of crispy while leaving some heartiness to them. The Fried Chicken and Waffles ($26) included flavorful fried chicken with breading that didn't quit when you tore it or cut into it. The cool part of this dish is the choice you have of the waffle it comes with. The Cookies and Cream Waffles should be your go-to. They were topped with the chocolate cookie sandwich crumbles and a great homemade vanilla icing. For a Lauderhill establishment in an area where you really don't know of anything else happening, this place is worth a venture out for your brunch. I'd go back to try the other items and drinks!

However, the ones I was served were very disappointing--the meat was hard and not tender at all. From my experience, fresh stone crabs should have soft, flavorful meat, and this was clearly not the case. This wasn't my first time eating stone crabs, so I know what they are supposed to taste like, and I was honestly surprised by how poorly these were prepared. It really felt like the freshness and quality promised were not met. On top of that, the service was very bad. The staff seemed inattentive and unhelpful, which made the overall experience even worse. When visiting a restaurant known for its seafood, I expect both the food and the service to be up to standard, and sadly, neither met expectations this time. I hope the restaurant takes these issues seriously because stone crabs are a specialty, and when they aren't fresh and the service is poor, it completely undermines the experience.
