I have never been to Piccadilly's, so since we were visiting Florida we decided to try it. We had battered fish, cajun style catfish, collard greens, broccoli casserole, sweet potatoes, strawberry shortcake, pecan pie & sweet potato pie. I was surprised because the food did not tasted homecooked. It looked good, but looks can be deceiving. The greens tasted like they were frozen greens, sweet potatoes canned & the pie store bought. You don't see many Piccadilly's around so when I found this one, I just had to go. The line seemed long when we walked in but it went pretty fast. We went on a Sunday evening. Restaurant was clean and organized. The food was great for the most part. the prices were great. My only complaint is that the staff really wasn't friendly. At one point a girl who was dishing out the food was just plain rude. The only friendly staff member was the waitress that came to our table once or twice. With that being said, I'd still go back. It was the first time for me here - an old friend suggestes it and we all went. I loved it - they just don't have places like this anymore. The staff was friendly and helpful and yes, the decor throws you back in time, but that's what makes it charming and unique these days. I don't need yet another glas and black and white restaurant that's either so dark I can't see my dood or so loud that it's impossible to have a conversation with my friends at the table without yelling. Once you get past the extra-worn carpet and the old trays, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the taste of the actual food. I've been coming to this Picadilly since the early 2000's and I tell you, that nothing has changed (this includes the look and the food quality). Food has always been good and it is a big reason to come here. Price is inexpensive, though a little higher than fast food, but not as much as most sit down restaurants. Picadillys Cafeteria- 7/14/15 Hollywood Blvd - ample parking in rear, but drainage problem, it seems to always have standing water. Old school decor, light music , plenty of seating tables, booths & meeting rooms, restrooms tend to be clean & stocked. I have been visiting different Picadillys cafeterias for as long as I can remember, and have to say they never change, Good food, consistent in preparation & serving, always fairly quickly even w/ long lines at times , & always a pleasant staff. Managers are active on expo of the food & the customer cue. What's good almost anything you see that you like, from salads , dessert, main course or sides. Floor person always happy to get whatever you need. Lots of older black & white southern folks, just having a meal in peace together. Not much fried fish ready on the line so I chose baked chicken, spicy corn muffin, cabbage, mac and cheese. Biggest complaint, was the lukewarm food temperature. I was hopeful as my experiences with the location in Orlando have been great. I wanted to have a buffet breakfast that didn't cost an arm and a leg. What I experiences was a cafeteria style restaurant with horrible food and very high prices. Basically you enter the restaurant, grab a plastic tray, and head down a cresent shaped buffet line. The first options are the desserts. There's no price listed where you pick them up or anywhere that I saw, no menu or price board near the entrance or while your waiting in line to get your tray, but they are $2.99 and once you pick it up, it's yours! Sneaky tactic. Then come the meat options. The prices are written on the glass with dry erase markers and half the writings are missing as it's been wipped away. The prices mention a combo with very fine print as to what it includes. If you don't have great vision, you'll easily miss it and get what you think comes with it and a surprise at the cash out register On to the veggies and bread. The bread options are plain bread slices, corn bread in a long oval shape, or triangular jalapeno corn bread. I'm hoping it was just a fluke that the corn bread I got was extremely dry. The veggies were at least moist but lack flavor or seasoning. I chose the chicken tenders, water, a tiny corn bread, and a small side of Mac n cheese and potatoes. It came with 3 chicken tenders and the meal cost me $10. The chicken tender breading was soggy but the meat was on the dry side (how does that even happen?), Mac and cheese looked good but the noodles were over boiled and it lacked flavor, corn bread was dry, and potatoes weren't cooked with any salt in the water. I have a strong stomach and didn't each much, but still ended up with stomach cramps for most of the remainder of the day. My mom ordered the fried fish, collared greens, corn bread, cheesecake, and an I've tea. It was $19!?!? The only thing she didn't have was the fish. read more

Piccadilly review This is not a buffet, you pick out the food you want, everything is already cooked. My 6 year said "at least the fries are good." Is that a good enough reason to give this place 2 stars? Probably not. So 1 star it is. So let's begin...... I asked "which dessert is on the kids menu?" And the lady looked at me extremely confused and said "yes it's good". So i said "thank you" and walked to the next lady and asked the same question and that lady said "pudding and jello" and I said "ok thank you" and I we walked all the back to the dessert area, mind you it's 5 of us- 3 kids and 2 adults. We asked "what is considered a side?" And they were all confused. So I asked "can I get macaroni, green beans and roll?" And the lady said yes. When we get to the end to pay the cashier was charging us extra and when I asked why? It was because bread is a side, ridiculous. They need better management or better understanding of their own jobs. They didn't have any French fries ready, so the kids had to wait at the table till the fries came out. Barbecue sauce and honey mustard sauce I think comes free only with the kids meal. My turkey and stuffing meal was rather salty but ok. My husband had fried shrimp, he said it was just ok. My 6 year old daughter had spaghetti and sauce but she barely touched it. I tasted it, it was not good. My 2 sons had chicken strips and fries and they both were saying how they wished we had went to Flanigans or Cheddars instead. When we were sitting at the table there was such a strange smell that I was sniffing around looking for it our entire time we were there. Every one at our table could smell it too. I thought it was my meal, then I thought it was the rug. But no, the old moldy smelling grossness was the table cloth. Ewwwwww. So the restroom was not any better. In the ladies room you can visibly see they hadn't wiped anything down in a long time. There were 2 tiny roaches by the toilet and 1 big roach under the sink. The floors were extremely sticky. I came here today with a few family members for the weekend breakfast buffet. First thing is first. The food is fresh, also a nice variety from scrambled eggs, to biscuits and gravy, to even a omlette station that you tell them what you want AND THEY BRING IT TO YOU !!! We also liked the fact that it's usually never packed with people like other breakfast restaurants. let me not forget the price is reasonable too. Actually better then going to some regular diners. No. I was so disappointed. There was a Piccadilly my grandmother used to take me to when I was younger. It was great. You picked your meal from various options and then you picked your drink and dessert. The location on Flagler by Mall of the Americas closed ages ago and left us feeling the void. Then i found out there was a Piccadilly up North. We were going to the drive in theater so we took the opportunity to visit Piccadilly finally. The establishment gets some stars because the service was very friendly and you could tell they were trying to please their customers. However, the food options weren't as bountiful and the food was at best like having cafeteria food in elementary school. Perhaps I was disappointed because i had expectations and it didn't meet them. Blame the night manager Very disappointed this time. This is our favorite hangout when we're in Hollywood. We are usually very happy. We have spent time discussing the improvements the day manager has made and told him in person we had posted a wonderful review on TripAdvisor. This time however we went for a late meal and it could not have been worse. There was no line so the service should have been swift. The food displays were sloppy even though the restaurant was still open for another hour and a half. One elderly server for the entire counter. She was hesitant and slow and mixed up the order. Then a second, younger server made her appearance and she was straightaway rude. She handed me the vegetables all watery and when I asked to drain the watery goo she replied loud I WASN'T FINISHED YET! even though she'd passed it onto me already. The roast beef - my favorite - was finished. We had plans to take some extra home. So sad. There was one small blackened fish left but plenty of chicken. So why did they replenish the chicken trays but not the roast beef? All veggies sat there in a white watery goo. Not appealing. One slice of toasted bread - for two... My wife had the last pork chop. Thick but cold. The chicken I ordered disinclined, was dried out and extremely salty. The yellow rice same. Some of it hard like pea rock and inedible. The carrot salad - my wife's favorite - sour. She returned it and the extremely corpulent night manager looked at it and ignored her. He turned away from her! I got up and told him the carrot salad was sour. He replied I SEE IT. How can you SEE that food is sour? I blame him for not tasting or smelling the food that is to be sold in the evening. One waiter who works at this cafeteria since it was Morrison's, many years ago, and knows us fairly well, agreed with me: the manager should inspect the food before serving. And not to stop here, this big guy sat down for his late snack with a sumptuous plate of huge red slices of fresh cut roast beef, right in our face. Where did that come from? To end this: we were offered another salad for the sour carrots but since we had finished our meal, we settled for a slice of cake to take home. There was only one choice of cake available anymore. Lunch here yesterday. I had the baked chicken delicious meat easily coming off the bone, mashed potatoes just the right texture and corn was sweet and excellent, there sourdough bread is very good (i prefer golden corrals however). My girlfriend had chopped steak mmhm whoa cooked just right, broccoli is usually better but wasn't bad at all and corn. You can try almost anything here and be satisfied. I am really a big fan of Piccadilly's which was fka Morrison's Cafeteria and this was a childhood favorite of mine and my families so to know that there is one still standing in the area I am delighted, they offer a smorgasbord of different food options such as Salads, entrees, Sides, breads, and desserts, they also offer breakfast on the weekends from what I saw on a flyer, Piccadilly's offers homestyle comfort food, for example they offer Fried Chicken, Fish, Liver and onions, Carrot Soufflé and Mac and Cheese so there's always something for everyone at Piccadilly's for my lunch meal I had a broccoli salad, the Liver and Onions with Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes along with the Mexican cornbread, I have loved their liver and onions and the way they've prepared it for many years and it never get old to me and this time was no different they prepared it fresh so when the waitress brought it out it was hot and most of all it was very tender, sides did not disappoint mac and cheese very cheesy and mashed potatoes w/ gravy was good also. I really miss that there are not many cafeteria's around in the area but for now I'll just have to take the drive down to Hollywood. This was a very good dining for me and it satisfied my taste buds exceptionally. I'll definitely be going back to eat some of my other favs that they offer. read more

The BEST "home-cooking" in Hollywood can be found at the Piccadilly Cafeteria. There's an excellent assortment of entrees, sides, and desserts to choose from. The food is much better, in my opinion, than that served at the competitors, HomeTown Buffet and Golden Corral. If the restaurant were a little closer to the church I attend, I would probably go out to lunch a couple Sundays a month. My food was tasteless, lukewarm at best and a waste of money. I only stayed because the people I went with were diabetic and needed food right away. Got a flier in the mail advertising their Saturday & Sunday breakfast buffet so we gave it a try. 7:30 to 10:30 AM only. At $7.99 it was an OK deal. All you can eat including a drink. All the usual stuff including a omelet station. Omelet pan toooo hot so the eggs are too browned for my liking. 2 things I was glad to see were biscuits and sausage gravy and cinnamon sticky buns.
