If you asked me what is good here. One 5hing comes to mind right away, chicharrones and it is something I always get. They get the skin just right and it's crispy and good. My favorite thing here are 5he chicharrones. The Cuban coffee is great. I sometimes get the Cuban sandwich and always liked it. The restaurant has a window outside that you can order without coming inside. It is convenient for takeout. The customer service is not so good sometimes if you use the window. I feel it takes a little extra to get the attention of the counter person. They are always on a personal conversation. The restaurant has good daily specials. They are always posted at the entrance. Wow! On a recent crowded Sunday morning we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast, that was actually quite reasonable. My breakfast included coffee Cuban & toast along with eggs, bacon, and some of the best home fries I've had. The café con leche was so good! Just the way I like it with a hint of sweetness. Señor Café gives coffee shop/bistro vibes. Our server was friendly and patient with me as I practiced my Spanish. One minor thing, though I prefer my bacon a little more crispy, but that is just a personal preference. The price we paid for the quantity and quality of food was unbelievable. I was very pleased with the ambiance! There is a walk up window to the outside where customers can just order coffee and pastelitos. The menu is extensive with a wide variety of classic Cuban dishes. I went for the breakfast and was happy for the portion sizes at the cost. VERY WELL DONE. It was a pleasant environment- you could feel the love and contentment from the servers at the counter. I placed my order to go, but I observed the patrons and how they were treated. Customer service is EVERYTHING these days and this establishment got it right! I'll definitely be back for more.... We ordered takeout, ropa vieja, moros and plantanos, and chicharones. The ropa vieja dish and moros was the best I've had in a long time, maybe ever. The quality of food was generous. The chicharones were more like pork chunks. I didn't enjoy as much. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Definitely go. My new go to. Now I have to try some of my favorite dishes like vaca frita. read more

I was picking my mom from the airport and wanted to give her fresh o.j after the long trip, she almost spitted it out, and when I tried it I was shocked. How gross. Mind you they charge almost 7$ and put it in a tiny Capuucino cup, it made no sense, so I paid more and got the large which was still very small and not served in a juice cup. The layout is very Calle Ocho, with the main restaurant on one side and a charming little walk-up coffee window--ventanita--on the other, which adds a lot of local flair. Inside, you're greeted by large, vibrant photos of Caribbean landscapes that transport you even warmer, beachier vibes, while the east-facing glass wall gives you a front-row seat to the hustle and bustle of US1. It's a fun contrast that somehow works. The food? Definitely above average, especially for the price point. The shrimp omelet is a sleeper hit, and their classic chicken soup is pure comfort in a bowl--like my Noni used to make. This wonderful business is a great local community eatery that you need to visit. You can enjoy Breakfast as early as 6:00am. I was pleasantly surprised with my order of grilled beef flat steak with black beans & rice. Also tried the plantains, both were excellent, and it was so convenient . Breakfast today was decent. I got a build your own omelette which was good and the french toast which was pretty basic but good as well. The pricing is what I found the best as it was fair breakfast prices all around. Would definitely be a regular if this was close by home. I have bumped into this very nice Cuban food restaurant in Hallandale. The ambiance is nice, not for a romantic meal but it is clean, and the food is good. The have Cuban pastries but the croquettes are only made of ham. They have good service and cordial. The skirt steak was the worse! It was incredibly chewy and nothing like the tender skirt we often eat in NJ. Chinese rice had mussels.... Eh since when? Not a fan. Tamal, croquetas, black beans, and white rice were basic. The beef pastelito had an odd tasting sweet beef vs savory beef at just about all other establishments in both Fl & NJ. This place was just honestly really disappointing I really wanted to love this place :( I came here with a party of three on New Year's Day it wasn't very busy. When we got there it was a bit confusing we didn't know if we had to seat ourselves or if we were supposed to be seated. While ordering I feel the language barrier made it difficult to order. I got the Cuban sandwich and it got to the table about 10 minutes after everyone else got their food. When I got the sandwich I was a bit confused it didn't come with any fries or anything, the sandwich seemed as if it were not pressed and it was really cold. I was not impressed, the sandwich was so big I couldn't even fit it in my mouth.. I really wanted to love this place! Unfortunately we never got to try any of the pastries. They were out of mango milkshakes and strawberry smoothies that was a bummer, the guy who came to our table was very nice when I told them I wanted to send my sandwich back.. our server didn't seem happy to be there she wasn't smiling she just seemed like she didn't want to be there.
