Cute little gem of a place. I would describe it as cozy and dreamy. Came here with a friend to check it out. The pastries looked to die for. I eyed some of the other things people around us ordered from the menu, and the portions looked generous. There's is limited space inside but they have quite a few tables outside which is perfect for the upcoming cooler months. I wanted to give this place a try especially knowing that they employ adults with special needs. This is a great hidden location. I found this place doing a search for coffee shops. I ordered their green tea and a blueberry muffin. The tea was very good and the muffin tasted very good and was very fresh. Seating was comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxing. There were many people inside working on there lap tops. The music is relaxing and not loud so it is perfect for conversation. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and we ordered from the counter and the drinks and food were delivered to our table without a long wait. It is a small strip mall but with plenty of free parking. This place is also dog friendly. I have no doubt I will return. read more

This was a yelp favorite and decided to give it a try before checking out the Miami Zoo. My husband and I are from California and are visiting. Being from California, we frequent many coffee shops and can say this has been one of the best cups of coffee we've ever had. The coffee was very smooth and flavorful yet not overpowering the rest of the flavors. The breakfast we ordered was fantastic. My husband had the Lox bagel and I had the breakfast croissant which were both delightful and filling. The ambiance was cozy, family friendly and many locals favorite. This coffee shop is hidden in a small shopping center in a residential area. Everyone working there was very friendly which was the biggest pro for me of this coffee shop. The food was good. I had the Breakfast Croissant. The Lavendar Rose latte was the special drink and was very flavorful. The ambiance for me was okay. They did have a shelf of books which I thought was cool (I'm not sure if it was just for reading there or like a free library). I felt like the seating was not the most comfortable though. My wife and I went to Our Grounds and, unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing experience. Before arriving, my wife looked at the menu online and wanted the lox avocado toast, but they were out of salmon. No big deal--she switched to the Jen avocado toast. I ordered the Mediterranean sando, and we also ordered one iced coffee and one hot coffee. The coffees came out first. My wife said hers was mediocre, but my hot coffee was honestly one of the saddest coffees I've had in a long time. Then the waitress came back to tell me they were also out of turkey for the sandwich. I switched to the hummus toast, but it barely had any hummus on it--it mostly tasted like arugula, pickles, and onions. My wife's avocado toast came out extremely hard and overloaded with honey. The online menu doesn't mention honey (the in-store one does), so we asked them to remake it without honey. They did, but the bread was still so hard you could barely cut into it. What really bothered me is that my original dish was $12.99 and the toast I ended up with was $9.99, and no one offered a refund or even mentioned the price difference. Overall, between items being out of stock, bad coffee, tough bread, and no effort to make things right on the bill, the experience was pretty disappointing. read more

Great local coffee house with an amazing concept! The owner, hires people with different abilities which is a play on words for what society calls people with "disabilities"! I love this concept so much I recently visited and almost cried! The dirty chai lattes and cappuccinos were amazing! Thank you for having non-dairy milk for this very lactose intolerant customer! Come with me to Our Grounds, a coffee shop in West Kendall. This was my first visit, and I was kindly greeted by Mia and Matt, who work there. I was unsure what to order and asked for recommendations, which Mia kindly provided. I went with an Iced Caramel Latte with oat milk and a Turkey and Cheese Croissant. Both were very good. What makes Our Grounds different from other coffee shops is their mission; they provide vocational training, education, and employment opportunities to adults with intellectual and cognitive disabilities.  Overall, Our Grounds was excellent. My favorite item is Jens avocado toast, which I believe to be the best avocado toast I've ever tried. It features avocado, bacon, arugula, goat cheese, red pepper flakes, and honey. If you're like me and a fan of sweet and salty combos, then you have to try this! Another item I like is the breakfast croissant, which includes scrambled eggs, cheddar, bacon, and herb butter, as well as an alternative veggie version. Lately, I've been swapping out the croissant with whole wheat bread for a healthier option.  Overall, Our Grounds is a superb establishment with a delicious menu and welcoming staff. I love the atmosphere and environment. I've always wanted a "go-to" coffee shop like the ones you see in movies and shows, and Our Grounds has the coziest vibe. I also hold a strong belief about advocating for accessibility in education (which is never shared on my Yelp page as this is all about food!!) But.... Our grounds take this to the next level. I personally spent my Sunday studying away at our grounds fueled by the coffee and bites. I love the uplifting purpose of this coffee shop. Adults with cognitive and intellectual disabilities are twice as likely to be unemployed as the general population despite having skills and the willingness to work hard. The mission of Our Grounds is to provide self esteem boosting meaningful jobs to this underserved segment of the community. I have had Our Grounds bookmarked forever but the timing never worked out right because they close kind of early, at 4:30 everyday. I was finally in the area at the right time and I am so glad I was able to stop by this lovely coffee shop for an afternoon java fix. They have a cute little patio area outside and a welcoming interior with couches, tables, and chairs. They provide wifi so you can work as you sip and nosh. The menu includes a variety of coffee and tea drinks, croissants, toast, bagels, and baked goods along with weekly specials like ice cream by Sweet Lichs. I ordered an iced latte and an almond croissant. The latte was delicious and the croissant was very fresh. They were perfect afternoon pick me up. You can support Our Grounds by visiting the physical location but you can also make a donation on their website. They are looking for volunteers and local businesses to partner with them. I would love to see their shops and message spread. read more

Love the relaxed vibe here!! The team was very good, friendly and attentive and made everybody feel welcome. Seems to be a very relaxed area known by locals with seating inside or on the patio. We had fully dressed bagels with lox and it was clear how much care they put into preparation. Coffee was terrific and the baked goods looked beautiful so I added an apple tart to my order! First time at Our Grounds yesterday and it won't be my last. Overall I had a wonderful experience as the staff were attentive, kind, and patient. It's a cozy place with a touch of modern aesthetics; very comfy. I went in to study (had about one outlet available per table) and they had reliable free wifi. Their friendly chill music was not too loud and there were a few families entering in and out on a Tuesday afternoon. Bathroom was also squeaky clean and cute inside too! As for my drink: They didn't have lavender syrup for my go-to latte, however, this gave me the opportunity to try their pumpkin spice latte with oat milk and WOWZER!! The texture was smooth and creamy, but not too thick or sweet. Also, I will need to come back because I heard a lot of customers ask for their Coffee Cake, but unfortunately at ~2:30PM they were all out. Bonus: it makes my heart extra warm that this is a safe environment for all types of abilities. Completely forgot to take photos, but this place is so cute! I would come back for a study session or for a casual hangout with friends. It's cozy inside with about 4 tables and a small couch sitting area. There is outdoor seating as well. The service is great- both baristas being super friendly and welcoming. I got the pumpkin spice latte w/ Oatmilk with one pump of syrup so it wasn't too sweet. The oat milk was okay, but overall I enjoyed it! There's free parking in the plaza and other food spots to try.
