I was craving waffles, so I had to go for the protein waffle--and the best part is you get to pick 4 toppings. I chose banana, strawberry, Nutella, and peanut butter... OMG. Absolutely incredible. Like, next-level delicious. I'm not exaggerating when I say I was literally doing a happy dance while eating it. My boyfriend went for the organic empanadas--one beef and like three cheese ones--and he was OBSESSED with the cheese. The dough is made from yuca, and that combo? Straight up dangerous. So good it should come with a warning. We also got two protein smoothies, both with 24g of protein. The Avalon mocha had an espresso shot with chocolate protein--rich, smooth, and honestly perfect. The Tropical Twist was mango, pineapple, coconut, and vanilla protein... super refreshing, light, and very tropical vibes. I genuinely can't even put into words how good everything tasted. The service is okay, from my brother's experience it's way better when the owners are there. It makes sense since the employees are on the younger side. I checked out this place after a bike ride in the Everglades. Their menu is expansive focusing on protein-packed, clean fruity eats! The acai bowl was refreshing and I chose from unlimited toppings including tropical fruits, strawberries, blueberries, nut butter drizzles, cinnamon powder, guava sauce, cereals, and other candylike toppings. Everything came well balanced with a layer of granola on the bottom. The sandwiches were perfectly toasted, perhaps on the smaller compact side but had savory dipping sauces. I got a large Tropical Twist smoothie and it was HUGE!! The smoothie was mango, pineapple, & coconut. It was great but coconut was the dominant flavor couldn't really taste the fruit in it. Found this place online and it peaked my curiosity. Everything on the menu looks sweet and full of sugar, but it's described as a healthy spot, so had to come in person and check out for myself. The two ladies working were great. Very nice and helpful. Their food is in fact all protein based (powder form) so they're able to pack in minimal sugar and high protein meals and drinks. Avalon Miami is your classic protein shake and juice chain restaurant! This takeout style shake bar, has a TON of healthy, high protein and low calorie shakes and treats. Personally I go for the Shake + Power Tea combo. While the combo is $20, there are a bunch of benefits including only 200 calories and over 10 flavors. Flavors include White Chocolate Snickers, Uh Oh Oreo, Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. All with over 20 grams of protein in them. Dairy free and no added sugar! They also have a variety of other treats like the 20 calorie teas (Passion Fruit is my favorite flavor.) Baked treats include protein waffles, pancakes, donuts and açaí bowls. The inside is super cute and the workers are always super friendly. Pro Tip: If you post a picture on your instagram story and tag them you get $1 off! read more

Really wanted to like this place but I HATED it... The staff was super friendly but they were disorganized and all over the place. I ordered 5 things and I had to wait 40 minutes for the staff to fulfill it. A couple of people arrived after me and the staff completed their order in the middle of working on mine, which didn't sit right with me. I also didn't know almost all of the menu contains protein powder. I wanted an all fruit base for the acai bowl and smoothie but it wasn't an option. The acai bowl was awful and tasted like pure protein powder. I couldn't taste a hint of acai or any fruit for that matter. The same goes for the smoothie. I ordered a "strawberry banana" but it just tasted like banana protein powder. Looking at it now, they probably forgot to put the strawberries because it doesn't have a pink tint at all... Overall, I don't recommend and don't plan on ever coming back here. There are plenty of healthier options around Miami. read more

You get to see the barista make the bowl right in front of you with real ingredients and no added sugar. The toppings were plentiful, fun, and something for everyone! I placed an online order for pickup, because I'm trying to make healthier choices while I'm on the go. For starters, my toddler fell asleep as I was pulling into the shopping center, so I called the store to see if they offer curbside. The Avalon has been open for about 8 months. It's located in a Winn Dixie shopping center with ample parking. Sebastian is great and very helpful. One thing I really appreciate is they use fresh fruit. I had the vanilla added pb2 and fresh strawberry. The macros are great on these shakes! Im gluten free and dairy free and the protein shake and donut didn't hurt my stomach. My friends had a birthday cake and the nutty banana. The nutty banana is definitely banana forward. The birthday cake stole the show my friend couldn't stop raving about it. Not to mention all of the shakes we got had 40g of protein! The shakes come dairy free with soy protein, however if you want whey they do have that and you just have to ask. read more
