So my husband purchased a Groupon package of laser hair removal for me for Christmas, and I think I've coming here for about 4.5 months now. And although I've never had any type of laser hair removal before, and I didn't really have any other experiences to compare it to, I'd say I'm pretty happy with my my results so far. Between each treatment, the hair has grown in less and less, it comes back thinner and it takes longer and longer to grow back. The procedure itself is pretty painless, and you're in-and-out in pretty quickly. The staff has always been friendly and answered all of the questions I had. Do they talk to you about purchasing additional services?... Yes, but what business doesn't? McDonalds asks you if you'd like to "Super Size" your meal! It goes with the territory of business. It's how businesses stay in business and I definitely don't mind continuing to patronize a business that has provided me with a service that I've been fully pleased with. On top of that, I've never found them to be pushy about talking to me about additional services. And they've been super flexible about scheduling, so it's always been super convenient for me to fit into my schedule, despite them being a little further from me than some of the other places. I've been coming here for almost a year for hair removal services. I've had almost all the technicians (including the owner) and they're all professional and know what they're doing. I've also tried both machines (the gliding one with gel and the one with laser shooting out) and both are on the painless side. The owner will explain to you if you'll be a good candidate to the treatment and depends on your natural skin color and hair color, she will set the right expectation for you. In the beginning, I merely wanted facial hair removed, but because of the staff's demeanor I chose to continue with their services. I have to agree with the other reviews on here... Vahideh is professional and makes you feel comfortable. She'll ask you questions about your skin to make sure you get the correct treatment. I have dark, thick, coarse hair and used to get in-grown hairs and razor burn until I came here, then I started seeing results after my second treatment. But keep in mind, you have to keep up the treatments to see results. I would have to break some appointments because of work and would notice the changes so keep up your cycle! Also, because of the type of hair I have, I'm one of those people that have to come in more than 6 times but I'm really glad that she has deals all throughout the year. Laser hair removal is not only for women but men as well. I have seen several men, old and young come through this office so this is not a service for women only. Men, don't shy away, Vahideh's team knows what they are doing. The prices here are much lower than other laser centers; trust me I've checked all over DC because I don't live too close to this place anymore but it is totally worth the drive! This is cheaper and a time saver when you aren't shaving every day anymore! :) If price really worries you then I would check on Groupon, LivingSocial, or their website. Also, if you call them about pricing, they might work something out for you or let you know of any deals/specials going on at that time. I have been going to McLean Laser Center since December 2014. I started going for laser for the underarm area, and continued to add areas of the body since. Each area of the body responded differently and so the number of treatments required varied. Lasting results do not come after only 3 or 6 sessions; however, I stuck to the schedule recommended and have been very impressed with how little hair I have left! Before my wedding, I also did a 3-package of microdermbarasian (once a month) and a collagen facial the week before. My skin has never felt or looked better, and my wedding day my skin was flawless. Farzaneh is the sweetest, and is not pushy to buy the skin care products they use, which so many other facial places do! I have been a client of Mclean Laser Center since May of 2013. Prior to my experience today, my previous experiences with Vahideh and her staff have been good, albeit sometimes abrupt which may be perceived as rude as other reviewers have noted. However, it was nothing that I felt warranted any attention. My experience today, however, was both unprofessional and demeaning. I had purchased 2 laser hair removal packages back in July 2016, each package included 6 laser treatments. At the time of my purchase they had a special offer in which you get 1 free treatment with every package of 6 treatments you purchased. I finished my treatments along with the 2 free treatments they advertised and noticed I still had a few areas that needed touching up. I purchased an additional $30 "spot" treatment for my underarms. When I got home I noticed a few hairs did not fall out, as it normally does a few weeks after treatment. I e-mailed them, and was told to wait after my shedding cycle ended and to come back for treatment. This was not an isolated experience, during my treatments I had returned twice to get areas treated that had been missed during my regularly scheduled appointments (which they had always been understanding and accommodating). I e-mailed them to reschedule, because I was out of town for work for 2 weeks, but was told that I was in mid shedding cycle and they could not see me until the following week. Fast forward to today, I went in for the scheduled appointment and was immediately treated like a hostile witness. Vahideh and her assistant took me into the treatment room and as I walked in, they shut the door and stood side by side and began asking, "what exactly is the problem?," "let me see, there's more than just a few hairs, you're past your shedding cycle," "this will cost additional if we treat today," "what do you want?" "you've already received so many free treatments." Those "free" treatments they were referring to, was apart of their advertised special as I mentioned earlier. I don't consider them "free" if you offer them as part of a paid package. I felt like I was being ganged up on, I was not offered a seat, instead we just stood there as I tried to explain and show them the area I was concerned with, which was quickly dismissed. She kept reiterating that I had received all these "free" treatments, as if to convey that i'm trying to scam them out of something. I've paid quite a bit of money to them over the past 4 years, I don't appreciate being made to feel like I've done something wrong. I left feeling extremely frustrated. I tried calling after I had time to cool down and think straight, to better explain myself, but was asked who this was, when I told them my name and that I was just in the office, I was told that Vahideh was busy with a client and would call me back in 10 mins, 4 hours have passed. I'm not holding my breath for a phone call. Also, take the ratings this place has received with a grain of salt, in the past I had been offered a free treatment for leaving a yelp review, which I never did because I didn't feel right doing so. read more

I originally purchased a groupon in 2012 and haven't stopped coming back! I love it here! Five Stars because the staff pushes it to the top. They are so nice and accommodating. I have NEVER had any issues with any service I have received. I have had hair removed from bikini and underarms and recently started my legs. Though the building is on the older side, the office is clean and the machines are newer using updated technology. I knew going into this that hair removal was a process, but it is the most liberating and freeing feeling! I know that I don't have to shave or wax again! I have been going to Mclean Laser Center for over two years now. The staff is very nice and friendly, and it is very easy and quick to make/reschedule appointments. They are also very professional. I was lucky to be able to make an appointment on their first day of reopening during COVID-19 pandemic, and I witnessed the amount of effort and care that the staff put in into sanitizing the entire place prior to letting me go into the room. First they checked my temp., then they provided me with hand sanitizer so that I could disinfect my hand before signing a form agreeing that I did not have any covid-19 symptoms. Then i was allowed into the room and was asked to wear gloves, and after the services were done i was once again provided with hand sanitizer to disinfect my hands. The room was then sanitized immediately after I was done. The staff was also wearing face masks and shields, as well as gloves, and they took 6 feet distancing very serious. I had a great experience today and am so glad that I chose Mclean Laser Removal. At least now I can be at peace knowing that I can visit the place without being worried about the sanitization of the place because the staff knows exactly what they're doing!!! read more

First, I will say that though it's far from the city, parking is fairly easy, the office is comfortable and clean, and the treatment was quick and professional. I've only been for one session so far and experienced no pain on a "medium" sized area, either during or after treatment. However, I was disappointed to learn that their "regular bikini" treatment only includes a one inch strip on the right and left sides!! At first I thought this was because I came with a Groupon, but upon calling anonymously later learned that it's standard for them. That's not much hair removal, even for not-very-hairy me. I called around to a couple of the other well-reviewed laser centers in the area, and learned that at Hela Spa, a regular bikini treatment includes "however much needs to go on both sides and the top," and at Gentlelaser, it includes TWO inches on BOTH sides of the bikini line and on top! So, while the price at Mclean was right (even reasonable without a groupon), that's because it covers less than a third of what you'd get somewhere else. read more

If you want more hair on your skin by paying over $1000, this is the place. I decided to do my laser hair removal for my legs and arms from this place since the location is near my home and seemed like its clean. The owner's confident comment about her place was that she uses the most updated and excellent painless machine in northern Virginia area. I guess her machine helps skin to grow thicker and more hair than before. If knew this was going to happen I will never ever pay over $1000. It's extremely upsetting me and hope the owner won't rip off from any other clients besides me, because that will only help her to shut her business down. After I completed my sessions, everybody noticed that I gained more hair than before I started getting my treatments. I complained to the owner and ask why this was happening. She said it is because I didn't take care of my skin well. I mean what is there to take care?? Should I go get extra laser treatments after McLean Laser Center's place?? Also, she suggested that I should purchase more treatments and try four more times. After I heard that from her, I figured that the owner is just dishonest person who just look for chances to rip off from her clients who don't know much about laser treatments. read more

Vahideh is nice but very pushy about upselling more services, to the point of slightly insulting you ("You have a lot of hair..."). In each of my 6 sessions, she would ask if I'd had laser before (I had) and would proceed to tell me why I still needed treatments in those areas (I didn't). She also told me each time that laser was pointless unless I kept coming and that if I stopped I might not see the change permanently. I understand the importance of selling business, but I don't think she was offering advice or professional opinions in my favor - just trying to extract more money and time. The result has been good, exactly what I wanted for 6 sessions - a significant reduction, not all out elimination of hair. Her hours aren't consistent - she starts at either 9 or 9:30, depending on what her assistant feels like booking. Originally, I was told no Saturday appointments but today she told me they did do Saturdays. The facility is clean enough but cramped and garish. She applies CVS or Vaseline brand aloe lotion as the soothing gel at the end, not exactly high quality. Her equipment usually looks clean, but sometimes she would wipe down the end of the laser with a paper towel, which concerned me. Perhaps to wipe off the cryogenic build up?. I wouldn't go back but am glad to have tried her. It's on par what I expected from the Groupon deal through which I found her. Oh yeah - they will tell you to park at the lot across the street. After a while looking for a good place to take care of my skin and body, I've finally found McLean Laser Center. They really know how to treat the skin in all aspects to make you look great. They also use very effective cosmetic products. The laser machine is leading-edge compared to those I've experienced in other places in the area; you really don't feel any discomfort at all during or after treatment. Fariba (the laser professional) does a great job in covering the entire area under treatment, and she does it gently and with care. I have been going to Mclean laser center since 2013, and started facial hair removal first and then added underarm and other areas. I like the service and their machines a lot. I saw a big difference in my skin as I have a very sensitive skin and hormonal facial hair was causing me pimple and acne. Now it is all gone and I keep adding other areas, as it feels perfect when the hair is gone.
