Very personal, small business with professional interactions. I like these small, single owner spa facilities. The big facilities are always trying to upsell more products. At this facility everything is low key, private and quiet. There isn't the 'upselling' or pushing products and services. Farzi is fantastic, efficient and really knows what she is doing and if you ask, she will give her honest experienced opinion, which after my treatments for leg veins, I respect. I have been going to McLean laser center for several years now. I started with bikini, then underarm and now I am getting lower leg. Before this location I went to another place w Groupon and after 6 session I didn't see any result. Here I saw result after 3 sessions! I am so so happy with result that I recommended several of my friends. They all love it!! They often have Groupon special but if you take a screen shot and bring it to them they will honor the price without you having to buy a Groupon. Another thing I love about the place is people. Been here a bunch of times and until I got laser hair removal treatment at another location, I didn't realize how this clinic intentionally sets their laser at less than optimal settings to keep you coming back as the treatment was only partially effective. Spend more elsewhere to get your results fully taken care of, this place will rip you off. Their business model isn't providing patients with effective treatment that gives lasting results, but treatment that gives partial results to give you an idea that it's working and keep coming back. Been going to McLean Laser Center for years for laser hair removal and decided to buy a facial package from Farzi - pre-pandemic and the initial sessions were relaxing and she makes good suggestions based on what she sees. Obviously adjustments have been made given due to pandemic so if you can equally adjust your expectations, I recommend giving the facials a try. As for the laser services, I've used them for years and recommended countless friends to their business. I've had a complete set back with the section I started since the Pandemic so that sucks but the machine they use is the most effective for my skin so I'll likely continue to use them for a long time to come! read more

I have been going to Mclean laser . I am glad to find here and chose them. I recommend here because their staffs are professional and friendly and also it's safe there during covid-19. Looks like I'm not the only person that got burned from here. I bought 2 packages for the hair removal. The last session I went for Brazilian hair removal, they burned my private area badly. It was very painful during the treatment. At first I thought it might be normal as they might have to turn up the setting a little higher as it wasn't my first session. But the pain was almost unbearable, then I went home and noticed it was all burned down there. I was miserable for the following 10 days. It was painful and very itchy due to skin recovering from the burn. Part of the private area skin start to peel off after 2 weeks.. but still a big area left with burn mark. I'm very upset and self conscious about the mark. I reached out to them and they don't seem to really care. They just told me it will be fine.. But now, it has been almost a month now and the burn marks are still there. I doubt they will ever disappear.. :( It was a total disaster this time and I suffered from it both physically and mentally. I will never come back. Ladies, before you come, please think about it carefully and be very cautious about this place. read more

The treatment itself hurt as expected but it was less than waxing in my opinion. The treatment room was clean and she was very professional. I'll highly recommend! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I can't tell you how easy, affordable and simple Vahideh made laser hair removal. After one treatment on my legs, my hair grew out noticeable lighter and grew out slower too. Seriously worth it! Okay, so more about this place: I found Vahideh through Groupon and she is WONDERFUL! She is very thorough, she tells you everything in advance and asks you a lot of questions about how you care for your skin, sun tanning, lotions, etc.,. She answered all my questions patiently and provided excellent customer service. I always do the research when it comes to the price of procedures and qualifications. She is not only very qualified (would you trust your skin to just anybody?) but she also has one of the best rates for laser hair removal I have found. I wish this place were more metro friendly, but I can't take a star of for that Most of the laser places are in the 'burbs. What she saves in the rent of the space, you save for the cost of the procedure. Find your way to McLean and GO! It's a train to Vienna and a bus. WORTH IT. You only go 4-6 times and you are HAIR FREE FOR LIFE! Throw out the razors and chuck the shaving cream. no more nicks, cuts and pain. Also... NO MORE RAZOR BUMPS. hallelujah! Anyway, love this place. I am writing this as an update to my first 5 star review. I had laser vein removal twice on my legs (Jan 2014 and then again July 2014). After both procedures I can definitely see now that my veins are actually worse and more noticeable than before. The laser tech told me at my initial visit that I probably wouldn't need another treatment because I seemed to respond well, and my veins were few and small. After the 3 month period passed since the first visit, my veins showed no improvement and actually looked a little worse. I called the center and they offered me another treatment at the Groupon price and said sometimes it takes more than one session, and they can look worse before they get better. So I went in for another treatment in July. Now they are even worse, and it looks like I have bruises around the veins, but the "bruises" have been there for months. Upon closer inspection it actually looks like more spider veins have collected in the area around the first one, giving me permanent purple and blue marks on my legs. After some more research and a consult for sclerotherapy at a medical doctor's office, I have found that laser vein removal is not ideal for use on the legs. It is more effective on areas like the face where the skin is thinner. The laser simply cannot penetrate leg skin enough to produce results. I feel like this is something the laser center should have been aware of and warned me about. They are using a procedure on an area of the body where medical research states it is just not useful or effective. In response to the comment from Vahideh 9/29: I absolutely mentioned the veins were worse, both on the phone when I made the second appointment, and to the vein technician in person during my appointment, which was not you, so you were not a part of that conversation. Also, I am fully aware of the informed consent and the risks involved. I am also aware of the false prognosis that was verbalized to me, and this is why I am unhappy. read more

Not sure why so many good reviews were filtered out, because they would average the ratings of this spa more accurately. It is reasonably priced here, and the owner is very knowledgeable about laser effectiveness and safety techniques. I didn't feel the pressure to buy anything - I think she just informed of what was available and/or of what may be needed to get desired results (which is to no longer shave, generally). Hair removal is a PROCESS, and must be done on schedule and as needed to get best possible results. I think she may have just be trying to explain that. I can see some cultural influences in her expressions, which may be misunderstood by some. The laser tip was wiped w/tissue during procedure to keep lint, hair, cryogenic frost, etc. from accumulating on it to avoid damage to both laser lens and client's skin. This is NOT a sterilizing effort. Definitely recommend, as safety is number 1 here, unlike at many places (even @ doctor's offices, which have been known to burn their patients!). (NOTE: You do have to park across the street, which is fine by me. My review is for the service and pricing, and spa is simple and clean so nothing to take away.) read more

This place is really excellent - professional, clean, affordable, and friendly. I was very pleased with the services and would recommend this to a friend. Appointments are easy to book, and more importantly, there was no wait time!! 4 stars versus 5 because the parking is inconvenient - you have to park across the street and cross 4 lanes of traffic, since every spot in front of the building is specifically reserved for other businesses inside. Also, the inside of the building itself is kind of run down and dated and provides an initial unsettling impression. But McLean Laser's space is new, bright, and welcoming.
