One of my favorite stores on Oahu PERIOD. The owner, Lori, is one of the sweetest, personable, dog…read more& environment loving people I've ever met. Everyone who works at the store is just as kind, helpful, and thoughtful as Lori. The positive, friendly & fun culture of this store is unmatched. They've downsized their refill options in the last year to make way for the thrift side of their store, but they still have all the household & personal care essentials we need. Lori does such an awesome job with vetting everything she carries in the store. Basically, if it's in the store, it's because she loves it & it works! We come to Protea at least 2 times a month to refill our household & personal items. We live about 20 minutes away, so we make it worthwhile by grabbing a coffee and a meal from a local shop nearby. I'd highly recommend you check out this lovely shop! Also, make sure to follow them on Instagram @proteazerowaste to find out about sales, events, & more! *Since another review brought it up I wanted to say that they will sometimes post on their IG stories & feed that they have to close early or close for a day when they're normally open (VERY infrequent) because, just like all small, local businesses, that has a small team (I think there are 4 of them total), sometimes things come up and they aren't able to staff the store. I think it's important to give our small local businesses some grace if they're closed when they've supposed to be open. Even though it's frustrating, I don't think it's worth writing a 1 star review without having experienced the store & without knowing why they were closed. Let's practice giving benefit of the doubt & showing some aloha.

This trip I noticed they didn't have soaps or refillable body products for sale anymore, but I was impressed by how big the clothing selection was. I love that it's more than just clothes too - it feels thoughtful, sustainable, and inspiring every time I go. A must for thrifting lovers looking for quality pieces!

As a former vendor of Stott's that had to stop accepting work orders from them because the reviews…read morehere don't lie, I can confirm that this is the most poorly run company I have ever had to deal with. There is no way I would ever rent from them either after the stories we have heard from their owners and tenants (as recently as today!). There is one person who is ultimately responsible but I won't name him because he apparently has very thin skin. I'm writing this review because I heard through Coconut Wireless that some other company is taking over managing Stott's properties. Whoever they are they should try to do better, and to that end I want to add my voice so they can't blame all of the complaints on the tenants. The reason it's so hard to get anyone out to fix anything is because no one wants to work for them. It's consistent work and good money until you realize everything takes three times longer than it should because no one over there knows what anyone else is doing. They went through probably five assistants during the time we did business with them. They couldn't even get fully trained before they were overwhelmed by the disorganization, and either quit or got fired. To be honest I don't know how some companies succeed, but hopefully this change will bring positive things.

This is by far the worst property management company I have ever used and would never use them…read moreagain or recommend them to anyone. I had an 8 month lease, during which I was constantly being bugged to provide access for not at all time-sensitive maintenance projects such as installing new windows which already worked fine. Stott did not work with me at all to adjust to my schedule and entered my apartment anyways if I couldn't find a time to be home the day they wanted. Interactions with management were always extremely rude and unpleasant. When I moved out, I cleaned the apartment extremely thoroughly and left it in even cleaner condition than when I moved in. The agent from Stott who inspected the apartment gave me the "all clear," told me it looked great and that my deposit would be in the mail. After which point I received a letter from Stott with a charge of over $400 in cleaning fees with no explanation. When I called to dispute this, I was simply told that the owner of the apartment was "particular" and didn't think it was clean enough. They claimed it was a mistake on behalf of the inspector for clearing me. Do not use this company. They are shady, rude and will just take your money. Horrible experience.
