I cannot recommend Tony and Evelina at Town and Country Real Estate highly enough…read more If you want personalized service and want to feel like YOU matter to your realtor (not just the property you wish to sell), then Tony and Evelina are for you. They are caring, hard-working people who will find you the property you will love (or they will help you sell yours). Their prices are super fair and Tony even helped us move! I'm not kidding. I'm also not kidding when I say they even helped us paint some of the rooms. We were originally with another large, high-profile company for several months and very unhappy with their attitude and lack of service. This former realtor was often representing the sellers so could not properly work in our best interest. I know that happens in Hawaii but they definitely didn't show interest in what we wanted or needed. Thankfully, we had friends that had worked with Tony to purchase their home and they highly recommended we call him. After about five months with the former realtor we called Tony. We told him what we were looking for, the fact we wanted to stay in Manoa, and our price range and he immediately found us properties to visit that following weekend. We had long discussions with Tony about strategy and about making good offers, what the property actually should be valued at and just some good helpful conversations. Tony's vision for properties is excellent. Some of the homes in Manoa are in poor condition but Tony had plenty of ideas of how to change things to add value or advice for making an offer that would be accepted but wouldn't overburden us with debt AND repairs. In about a month we had an accepted offer on an awesome house. The moment our house went on the market and before we even knew about it, Tony was already in his car driving out to see it. He called us on the way and we met him there. This was SO different from the service we had gotten with the previous realtor. The house was perfect and here we are today forever grateful to Tony and Evelina for ALL they have done for us. They may not help you paint your walls (I feel kinda bad mentioning it because now everyone is going to want some help with that - haha) but they will give you excellent care and service whether you are buying or selling. That's the kind of people they are. We are unlikely to ever leave our home but if we do, there is no question we will call Tony and Evelina to manage our sale.

My husband and I have been trying to find a rental that will accept our multiple pets for awhile…read morenow and have experienced that majority of the agents with other companies do not reply to any of our calls, emails, and/or texts. They don't even acknowledge that we reached out or applied. When a rental became available with Royal Realty, I immediately called the agent listed for the rental expecting no answer. However, he answered the phone immediately and was very pleasant and helpful! I was shocked! I told him, "Wow, thank you for even answering your phone! Most agents completely ignore my emails and calls." Rodney has consistently communicated with me throughout the viewing and application process. He has been the ONLY agent that has done so throughout our three months of hunting for a rental for our family. Just about when I was going to give up on finding a rental, we met Rodney today in person to view the rental and he was so kind and thorough. He explained every part of the home and even took us around the property to show us where the shared units were located, ones that we were not applying for, but that we would be sharing the space with. He took the time to get to know us as people and made us feel seen and welcomed. Most agents we've seen in person unlock the door and just tell us, "Okay you can go look inside" and never really talk to us or show us around. He was very transparent about the application process and the owners needing time to decide if they would be willing to accept our multiple pets. I told Rodney regardless of the outcome, I truly appreciated his timely and consistent communication with us and meeting him today. We are hopeful that the owners will accept our family and multiple pets, but even if not, our experience with Rodney makes us want to find a rental with this company since we know they will take care of us and our needs. Mahalo nui, Rodney!

Renter Beware: Avoid This Property Management Company…read more I rented through this agency for over 4 years, always paid on time, and left the apartment in better condition than when I moved in. Despite this, they withheld most my security deposit and tried to charge me for furniture that was never even provided in the unit. This wasn't an isolated incident of poor service -- I had requested replacement curtains after mine fell apart, and it took the agency over a year to follow through. Communication was consistently unresponsive and unprofessional throughout my tenancy. What makes this worse is that I now own a rental property myself. Having seen how this company treats tenants, I would never use them -- not as a renter, and not as an owner looking for a property management company. They seem far more interested in squeezing every dollar from deposits than treating good tenants fairly. If you're considering renting from this agency, think twice. And if you're a property owner considering hiring them to manage your property, look elsewhere.

We recently moved out, after living for 5 years in a one bedroom apartment at 400 Hobron Ln, The…read moreVilla at Eaton Square. This place was roach infested from the start of our lease. We were unable to use a majority of the kitchen cabinets, as they were faultily built with cracks and spaces all throughout the cabinets and counter tops where the roaches would have access and constantly leave a mess everywhere. And when we told the people who were sent for regular maintenance inspections that there was a roach problem, their response was "Yeah it's a problem. we get that complaint from a lot of the apartments in this building." So they acknowledged the problem but did nothing about it. We did once pay with our own money for pest control that the building offered, but they just sprayed chemicals for less that a minute in the kitchen and the problem didn't resolve or improve so I was not willing to pay for toxic chemicals to be sprayed in my home again. I've suffered from asthma and eczema and am sensitive to strong cleaners, pesticides/insecticides and fragrances so I avoid using those in my home. Instead I use natural non-toxic cleaning products. Also being pregnant, and having a toddler I was very careful about what I bring and use in my home. When moving out, we barely interacted with our property manager Ian, but instead with the relator he was working with named Marsha. Marsha and Ian came to check the apartment and take pictures for listing and Marsha told us they would be listing the apartment next week, and to start looking for a place to move. So we did and ended up moving out the next month, and they still hadn't listed the place. Anyways, we asked our property manger Ian for a list of cleaning vendors that they suggest and work with and he said to talk to Marsha the Relator. Marsha said she had a cleaner who was already working on another apartment in the building and he could do the cleaning, carpet cleaning and fix paint if needed but we had be completely moved out and officially hand over the keys to her 4 days before our scheduled move out date, so she could give they keys to the cleaner and it would take him the next 4 days to complete. This was very stressful and really messed with our moving out process. But we did it because Marsha said that if we went with another cleaner, we could end up having to pay more if they needed to come back to clean more. We checked with Ian and he was okay with this, so on our last day I met with Marsha at 6pm and she had me and my brother help her check all the cabinets were empty. She sprayed Raid roach killing spray all throughout the apartment, the fumes were so strong I had a head ache and felt sick, and we still had to stay standing in the apartment for about an hour and a half as she inspected the place and talked a lot to us. I showed her the mailbox and the parking lot. She also had me bend over behind the toilet to turn off the water, mind you I'm 6 months pregnant with all of this happening. I felt like it was a very unprofessional and it took way longer than expected, almost 2 hours in total before we said goodbye and I could finally get back to my toddler. I think or hope it would've been different if the property manager Ian had handled the check out inspection and handing over of keys instead of the relator. Now 3 weeks after moving out, we've received our security deposit return check and notice, which is a lot less than we were expecting. We asked for an itemized receipt with our return and were told yes, but only received this "breakout". Now seeing we were charged $890 for cleaning and carpet is ridiculous. We lived in a small 1 bedroom apartment which was left pretty much the same was we found it, plus 5 years of normal lived in wear and tear, without any maintenance on the property managements part, besides fixing the washing machine a couple times when it would stop working. We left the apartment bare, the same way we found it and generally cleaned what was in our control. I have no idea how it costs nearly a thousand dollars for the cleaning fee of that apartment. And without an itemized receipt. It doesn't add up. Also the $200 charge for roach treatment is not our responsibility to pay, we did not cause the roach infestation, and had previously complained about it to the management company who ignored the problem. We always had combat and hoy hoy roach traps in every cabinet and around the kitchen, it did not fix the problem and I was not willing to spray toxic chemicals in my home daily at the expense of my family and our health. It was always a problem that we had to deal with and it will continue to be a problem unless they fix the cabinets/countertops and seal all cracks, holes to cover the access points and hiding spots for the nests, they will come back especially with the roaches traveling from the trash room and apartment to apartment through the pipes, electrical outlets, AC vents, ect. Check attached photos.
