I have used McJacks for a couple of different services and I was very pleased with the work performed. This first thing was I bought a set of their superb Modified C4 Ceramic Coated Factory Corvette Headers, these are the ones they supply to Corvette Central. The fit is perfect and they keep you smog legal. Yes, I know most people go for long tube, but the mods on these make almost as much power difference, not sure how McJack do it, but they work. The other service I had there was their under hood detail service. When they are done you could eat your diner off the engine, it is spotless. If you have just bought a vette and you want to see what you have, or you are selling and want to impress, this service is worth it. So why only 4 stars, one word, cost. Yes they are very very good at what they do, but you pay for this. Seriously, keep this credit card bill away from your spouse! read more

Exceptional experience here at McJacks. Stopped in on a Friday around lunchtime to get an opinion/estimate on my 2007 Atomic Orange Corvette that had been "bumped" in a parking lot by a dear friend. Jack quickly assessed the damage and gave me a fair and complete estimate in minutes. And then.....Said he could complete the work the following Monday. What??????? Seriously ??? No one works that fast. Yep. McJacks does. I brought the car back, had the car repaired in a day and when I came back to pick it up, the car was immaculate. Perfect paint and clean as could be. I am very glad I shipped my 1969 Stingray almost 3,000 miles to McJack's. My corvette was not even in road worthy condition and now it's body is strait with great lines and shines like a champ. These guys know what the are doing with corvette restoration, and welcome owner involvement. They really treated me like part of the extended family. I read the negative reviews and respectfully disagree. McJack's went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied and I think their pricing was reasonable for the amount of work involved. They identify and address not only obvious issues but the hidden ones that always pop up during restoration projects. They kept me informed at each stage, sending pictures often enough to make me comfortable about the process. They called for decisions when needed and rendered clear opinions on how to proceed. I have not seen anyone more skilled with fiberglass restoration and I really like the custom headers available made at this very shop. My project isn't quite done yet, but so far, I think my Stingray is in the best place. I researched competitors and am not disappointed with the choice yet. I hope to revisit this review after I get my eager hands on the steering wheel for the first time after completion. read more

In early January I purchased a 1977 black Corvette from McJacks Corvettes. When arriving at the shop I was in in awe of all the corvettes they had. All being repaired/ restored or for sale. They even had a limmo corvette showcar. When I saw the car I was there for I was shocked by the current condition it was in. Under the hood was flawless body was a 9/10 and the interior a 9/10 as well. For being 38 years old the car was in great shape. All original with some oem replacements. It was a pleasure working with Jack. I can tell that he knows these cars inside out and wants to deliver the best service. Jack called me to see how everything was going with the car! I brought up that there were a couple of small things that needed attention. I wasnt upset about it knowing how old the car was. He told me to bring in the car so he could take care of it. He said he only wants me to have the best experience and to be able to enjoy my car. So I brought the car to him with a small list. Two days later he calls saying the car is ready to pick up. I get there to find he knocked out everything on the list and even looked beyond what I wrote inspecting the rest of the car testing how it was running. He replaced other parts that werent up to his standard for free! Ive been driving my car a lot tonight since I picked it up and I can honestly feel a difference. It's running even better than the flawlessness it was before! Any of you who saw the bad review below. Id ignore it. In fact I did. Im happy too! Ive had the same Mechanic for 10 years and this corvette isnt ever going to their shop. Its only coming to McJacks Corvettes because of their extensive knowledge and exceptional customer experience. These guys know their stuff! I went to a few other corvette shops locally, but always felt like they were trying to get rich off of me. Jack was super helpful and took the time to show me what had to be done to replace the input shaft bearing on my C5. Crazy job btw! You have to drop the whole rear end to change that SOB. There I was driving the 405 one dark night and bam! An SUV sideswiped my beautiful perfect corvette. No biggie, I took it to Jack and he hand crafted the repairs and custom mixed the paint to match perfectly. Jack is a true artist of the classic fiberglass bodied corvettes. Jack worked his magic and my car is like new. I am grateful that there is a vette specialist. Within reasonable driving distance fro my home. and he is a great guy to boot. Let me share my experience with this place with others. Although it has been a few years, I bought my 1970 Corvette at McJacks. I can honestly say, if you want to stand around for someone to help you and act like they are not really interested in your business, run over to Corvette Mike's. If you want a different experience, try here. I went into McJacks several years back to just look. I was thinking someday of getting a Corvette, but really didn't have a ton of funds for it, so a 1967 427 3x2 was not in my immediate future. That said, I was more interested in a C3 anyways, something that did not run hot and it had to be numbers matching. So I just went there on a lark. I went in and just started looking around. Jack strolled by, he had been waxing something, and pleasantly asked me what I was looking for. I told him I was not ready to buy but looking. He was unfazed. He said looking was an important part. He said, look around, go and sit in the cars, get a feel for them, and if I wanted to take any out, let him know. Then he padded off and said to grab him if I had any questions. Wow, impressive. So I sat in a 427 C3. A few C2s. My wife was with me and weighed in. Then I saw a really nice red C3. Yes, it was a "cruiser", with the 300hp 350 and factory air, great paint, great interior. Just a really nice car. Jack knew I liked it. He said, let me have your number and we'll keep in touch. A few months later, Jack calls me. He said, "I still have that red numbers matching car, and I have a new finance company with great terms. Why don't you come down to talk, or just look at my new inventory?" It was no pressure, but I was intrigued. I went down there. Having just had a fat raise, and with the car priced with something that made sense for me, we struck a deal. I drove it home, with wife's approval. Could not have been a more pleasant experience. Then this happened. A few months after I bought the car, the A/C went out. I was really disappointed; although the A/C in any Vette is not like it is in your new car, I really wanted to drive the car in the summer and I wanted that A/C. I drove it back there for the repair; there was a young mechanic there that identified the problem as a bad compressor. Jack shows up out of nowhere with a box and a new compressor, and the mechanic put it on. Charge? $0. Jack didn't have to do that. There was no warranty. He said he wanted to keep me as a client, and all he asked was to keep him in mind if I ever wanted to up-trade my car. A good guy and a great place. read more

I had a coolant leak in my C5 as well as a sad-looking front end where a rock hit us. Other shops have charged a LOT of money for mediocre service that I could have gotten anywhere. So, I went looking for a new Corvette shop that really knows these cars. This place was awesome!! They not only solved my overheating issue but did some beautiful body work as well. They went above and beyond what was quoted for the work and detailing. The car looked like BRAND NEW when I got her back. Highly recommend this shop - they obviously take pride in their work. They did all the paint and body, installed rebuilt motor and trans and completed a full interior restoration. Not impressed with the lack of help or interest in helping or even looking at my car. Had a incident with bottoming out on the front end of the car. Had the bracket fixed at a closer shop. Looked at the car and wanted to see about some body work to be done as well as realign the light. It was off. Thought it was the bumper at first but the lamp was off. The son was more interested in helping. The father or owner seemed like he didn't want to do anything about it and had no interest in helping. Was discussed with the attitude and lack of interest in helping. The light clearly had a gap and the father kept saying that is just they way they are, when clearly with the other C6 corvettes that were there it was not. Total disappointment seeing that I drove from San Diego for that. Did all my research on this place and was impressed with the quality of work on the other vehicles. Was hoping to get some paint work done on the car as well as a repair on my lower part of my door. Never was able to maintain the mans interest long enough to talk to him. He may learn a thing or two from his son. read more

I brought my 2010 Grand Sport to Jack for a repair to the passenger side rocker panel. Everyone else wanted $3500.00+ to remove and replace the thing. Seemed unnecessary to me and Jack agreed. He repaired the rocker in three days (everyone else wanted over a week to do the work) and it looks fantastic. He was able to fix a small hole on the bottom and a fairly large amount of scrapes on the side. Cost: a little over $700.00 I was thrilled and the care they took and the job they did was nothing but the best I could have imagined. The car once again looks fantastic! On a side note - I read a very negative Yelp review on McJacks and for the life of me cannot figure what that guys problem was! None of what he said seemed to be accurate. I wish I can give someone zero stars. This place was perhaps the worst buying experience of any product in my entire life. It happened years before Yelp and now I finally get some retribution by being able to tell others how bad they are. Don't walk away from this place, run. I bought a car here a few years back and I can tell you they are hustlers, liers and cheats. They will cut corners wherever possible and disappoint you at every turn. Horrible workmanship, terrible customer service.... uuuuggggg. Every time I brought my car in for service, which was practically every week, it would come out with new scratches on it. I mean big old nasty scratches. One time it looked like someone dragged a toolbox across the back of my 69 Vette. Another time they scratched my door so bad that they had to repaint it - which only occurred after complaining until I was blue in the face. My horrible experience was many years ago but the scars still linger in my psychy. Go to West Coast Corvettes in Anaheim instead. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I love this place. I have known Jack for quite a few years from bringing in my corvette to him when I was in my teens. He always drops what he is doing for me, even if I stop in without any notice. Jack is good at making his customers feel special and cared about, knowing he will take care of your car like it is his own. All of my family take their cars to Jack, from my dad, to my brother & sisters, to my brother in law, and we always refer him to other corvette owners. This guy knows his stuff, and has been doing this since before I was born :) I have also seen the custom headers they designed and are made on-site, which are immaculate. That will be my next purchase. The headers are welded by Tony, Jack's son. It's pretty cool to know where your car parts are coming from! Not just in the USA, they are made in Santa Ana, CA! Jack did a great job restoring my 77 Corvette. He reupholstered the front seat, put in new carpet kit, fixed my headlights, and windows all in a timely fashion. I have been searching for about a year to find an experienced Corvette body and paint person. I quickly learned that the quality and price difference between companies varied greatly. A friend recommended that I visit McJack's to evaluate his service. I was very impressed with the quality of the body fits and paint work on Jack's cars displayed at the shop. Jack provided a detailed written estimate and indicated that additional body work may be required once the paint is stripped and the fiberglass could be closely examined. I found the estimate to be very fair and agreed to the job. During the 2-month process, I found Jack to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the C2 corvettes. I really liked Jack's relaxed attitude and that he did not try to over sell me on anything. I also really liked that Jack's shop has an open door policy and he allowed me to make frequent visits during the entire process. When it came for paint, I wanted to return the car to the factory original color. Although the paint supplier provided their correct formulation of the color, Jack and I felt the color was not correct. Jack spent hours working with me and the paint suppliers to obtain a color that I felt closely represented the original color. It is almost impossible to correctly duplicate old lacquer colors with current paint colors and clear coats, but Jack's has an excellent eye for paint and color.
