I recently dined at McGlinn's with a group of five. While the food was enjoyable and the atmosphere was pleasant, I wanted to share feedback regarding the service we received. Hannah was our server. After being seated, she took our drink orders, including a root beer for one member of our group, and I ordered the JoJo's appetizer along with my meal. I expected the appetizer to arrive before the entrée. After approximately 30-40 minutes, the root beer and the appetizer still had not been served, even though my pizza had already arrived. When Hannah returned to the table, I politely asked about the missing items. Her response was dismissive, stating that she had not forgotten them and that appetizers are typically brought out with the meal. When I told her I no longer needed the JoJo's, she appeared frustrated and left the table. She later returned, explaining that the restaurant was busy and that appetizers are served with entrées during such times. She brought the JoJo's and said she would not charge for them, which I appreciated, though I did not eat them. I believe Hannah may simply benefit from additional customer service guidance from McGlinn's management. read more

I actually walked half a mile to try out McGlinn's! I was staying at Coast Wenatchee and had a craving for pizza. I found McGlinn's in Yelp and decided I would add to my steps and walk there. When I got to McGlinn's I saw that their outside seating was full, so I went inside and was led to a table. There a very friendly and helpful server took my drink order and gave me a menu. I decided on the pepperoni pizza and was happy with what I got. It was a very thin crust, luckily I prefer thin crust. My experience with pepperoni pizza led me to believe it would be soaked in pizza grease. I was surprised when there was very little grease left on the tray. read more

It's hard to review an old friend! Since returning to Wenatchee three years ago, we have cycled around to most of the haunts we frequented 15 years ago, mostly restaurants where we had made friends with the wait-staff and owners as well. Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. Wow! We had breakfast here Sunday and it was delicious. We were greeted and seated right away at a cute little table near the front window. Our server was friendly and helpful. Corina and I shared the mama Mary biscuit sandwich, Randy had the avo stack and we all shared the rosemary potatoes. Sharing the biscuit sandwich and having some potatoes was the perfect portion size. The gravy is the best I've had in ages, maybe ever. So much flavor and an excellent consistency. Overcooked salmon.... Like waaay overcooked dry and chewy, cold mashed potatoes, totally mushy broccoli. Top 5 worst meals of life. I travel 120+ days a year and eat out more than I would like. This was uniquely bad. Jojo app was just as bad as dinner. Small and lukewarm, a little of cheese and somewhere I guess there was bacon. Wife's Pizza was edible yet below average. My sister and laws steak salad didn't look like anything I've ever seen. I think some others had an ok dinner, yet I can't ever imagine returning. read more

Great and friendly service, our waitress was very attentive! Definitely a bar and grill type of vibe. I came with my boyfriend and mom and we all loved our dishes, my mom got the steak, boyfriend got a pizza, and I got the chicken cranberry sandwich. All very different dishes, so I'd say this restaurant is pretty versatile. The chicken cranberry sandwich was very unique in flavor, but everything worked so well together and was very fresh 10/10! Can't forget dessert, with the lime cheesecake and it was so creamy 9/10. Highly recommend this spot, I'll definitely be back to try more! read more

Had to knock two stars off because they're forever changing the menu and removing my most favorite things. The Blue Mac was amazing!! Totally crave-worthy. I specifically went there for it...and it's not on the menu now. But the mysteriously left the totally blah and uninteresting Alfredo. What are they thinking?! No thanks. Wait staff are great. Bit loud but decent inside. Appreciate the gluten free options. But I'm vegetarian and gluten free. And you just killed one of your best menu items. So...not much is calling me back. After flying up from Los Angeles for a few days, I just had dinner at McGlinn's Public House with a friend. As an aficionado of mushrooms, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Nest wood-fired pizza. It was delectable, light and crisp yet rich with an array of artfully coordinated toppings that evoked subtle savory flavors without being overpowering. I might even put the Wild Mushroom Nest in my list of top 10 all-time meals, collected over 50-odd years of dining all over the world. The McGlinn's staff were friendly and attentive, the ambience was warm and inviting, the noise level was perfect for conversation, and the whole place smelled extremely appetizing. I find that far too many pubs these days smell like the stale ghosts of beers gone by, but McGlinn's smells like wood-fired ovens and delicious things being grilled. You can tell by the picture what matters to me most and it's MASHED POTATOES - these were excellent sometimes garlic mashed potatoes are either too salty or too much garlic *dodges thrown shoe* but not here The salmon was prepared well but it was hoping it would have a little more of a kick. For me though it was the service and vibe that made me feel comfortable talking with family and enjoying a meal. McGlinn's has always been my go to place to come on special occasions since i was a teenager. Their Food is always excellent. A bit pricy, but at least it is good. Last night i had the worst service experience. My server was rude and our food took over 40 mins to come out. She wasn't accommodating at all and only checked on us once before our food got there. When we tried ordering desert, she walked away before we were done talking. Then after we ate, she glared at us from behind the bar until we left. McGlinn's Public House is such a fun spot in Wentchee to dine at with live music on the weekends, friendly staff, delicious food and is located in a historic building. It's one of the more popular places to eat at in Wenatchee, and I can see why after checking it out. We came here on a Sunday night and there was live music playing out on the patio, which is where we wanted to sit since we had our dog with us. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table to open up as this place gets busy on the weekends. The building used to be a pool hall and housed a Wenatchee baseball team on the upper level back in the day. Our server said it's haunted in some areas, which she has personally experienced...so kind of spooky! The menu features different, classic items to choose from like burgers, sandwiches, salads and a handful of entrees with beers and wine. My partner ordered the ribeye plate while I had the caesar salad with smoked salmon and a side of clam chowder soup. Everything was tasty. The clam chowder was nice and thick, with chunks of seafood. And the caesar salad was a huge portion with lots of smoked salmon. I can see why McGlinn's is so popular after checking it out as it has solid food and fantastic service. I've been a regular customer of Mcglinns for a while now and they always meet the mcglinns expectations. Today I was surprised when I received a burnt pizza, the undercarriage of the pizza looked okay, but the top was burnt to the point the cheese looked a dark brown and the whole pizza was uncomfortable to eat because of how hard the entire crust was. That being said the ingredients were of great caliber and the execution was just off tonight, I hope to come again and for mcglinns to meet the standards they have set here in the valley. Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday, was immediately greeted at the door. I elected to sit at the bar which a finished copper, with that being said it is a family friendly spot. Nostalgic pieces and photos are up on the walls. They have a wide selection of beer and wine. Their menu is unique gastro pub fair, their pizzas and burgers looked good. I went with the grilled pork chop. It was about a minute or two overdone, but the flavor was excellent, I wasn't really a fan of the root veggies (but that is personal preference,) that gravy though was tasty I'm glad I got extra. Even with the slightly overcooked chop, I'm definitely going to give this place another chance since I think mine is a one off as they were really slammed. Overall I highly recommend. read more

The food is good and we had two of the John Paul Burgers that came with a hand pressed seven ounce beef patty, Hempler's bacon, mixed greens, cheddar, tomato, pickled onion, dill pickle, burger sauce and a side of chips. We also had the blackened ribeye 10 ounce steak with seasonal sauteed veggies, and garlic mashed potatoes. Can't forget the wood fired nachos loaded with pulled pork, roasted veggies, tomato, cheddar, mozzarella, onion, cilantro, housemade tomato and two types of tomatillo salsas. We had dinner out on the patio (with cozy heaters) last week, on a somewhat cool evening. The hostess and servers couldn't have been warmer on welcoming us to the patio - dog got water, pets, and treats. We were easily able to make our pizza vegan (excellent) by subbing vegan cheese and the hot spiced wine really hit the spot.
