New York Burger made with beefalo
Sandra L.

I am a huge Pybus Market fan. I was excited to see Hellbent Brewing opened a taproom. The atmosphere is cozy and fits like a glove in middle of the market. We stopped by on a busy Friday afternoon. We didn't see a wait to be seated sign so we sat ourselves. Kind of refreshing because all other establishments require you to wait. A server immediately came over with menus and our drink order. We love hazy IPA's, the server suggests Ok Spaceman. It was a perfect delicious and juicy a perfect mix of hop and citrus. We also shared a New York Burger Inspired by NY's Chopped Cheese Sandwich. 100% Ground Beefalo Patty, Smashed Thin.(Freshly Ground at Mike's Meats), Topped with Bacon, Cheddar, Tomato, Spring Mix, Diced Red Onion and Burger Sauce on Bosket Bread Co. Hoagie. We loved this burger! The beefalo was seasoned and fried perfectly. The veggies and burger sauce were fresh and tasty. The soft yummy hoagie held this juicy sandwich together like a champ.

Buffalo chicken salad

Good food, good beers and a nice outdoor dining area. The buffalo chicken salad was super good and a great size!

The food and service was brilliant. This will definitely be one of our "go-to" spots in Wanachee next time we visit. We shared the pork belly nachos, which are officially my new favorite nachos ever. The two salsas were wonderful, but the jalapeño salsa was the bomb diggity. I could drink that stuff I liked it so much. It was spicy, but I didn't think it was too hot. But then I like spicy so take my words out heat with a grain of salt and test first. I think I may have dreamed about the nachos last night, I'm not sure. But, I woke up with a full soul and I think they contributed. We also shared the French dip, which was very tasty. When we asked our server, she said the French Dip was a must try option. My cutie and I are not normally French Dip people, I will say, nothing was left on the plate and not because we were hungry, having just demolished the nachos. So I'd say the French Dip was great. Very flavorful and the au jus was delicious. The service was wonderful, very friendly staff and a great space. We listened to live music as we sipped from our cider and Pilsner prospectively, and enjoyed our food in a wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend. There are many other things we didn't try and I would want to try next time.

The rye definitely has a rye taste which is a good combo with both sandwiches. Hot, hot jojos, lightly seasoned stayed warm through entire outside meal. And, of course, the beer is cold. We were in town to have lunch with a friend, go to the dog park and then hit Costco. Well, the dog park was closed, unfortunately. We walked around Riverside Park a bit in the shade but I was worried about my dog getting too hot. We headed to the brewery where we saw a friendly sign encouraging me to bring the dog inside to the hostess stand. A friendly hostess encouraged me to bring the dog inside because their patio was available but it was just so hot. They brought over a dog bowl for Freddy with lots of ice in it. He proceeded to enjoy crunching the ice and made a big slobbery mess on the floor. I offered to clean it up but the staff was unperturbed and friendly while they mopped the water/drool up. The ambience in here is really cool. Lots of fans, music playing, garage doors rolled up to let the breeze in. It was a bit noisy with the music and fans but I could still hear my friend talking. I had them customize a BLT croissant sandwich to make it vegetarian friendly and they were happy to. They offered to cook a dog hamburger patty for Freddy for $2.99 and I took them up on it - he loved it! My friend enjoyed his Cobb (or chef?) salad. We split a pretzel appetizer - it was really good! The JoJos that came with my sandwich were really good too. Unfortunately we had lots of driving to do so we had iced teas and I can't tell you about the beer or wine here. Next time! Thanks for taking such good care of my hot, thirsty, hungry dog and welcoming us in! We'll be back!

Corina and I shared the mama Mary biscuit sandwich, Randy had the avo stack and we all shared the rosemary potatoes. Sharing the biscuit sandwich and having some potatoes was the perfect portion size. The gravy is the best I've had in ages, maybe ever. So much flavor and an excellent consistency. We will definitely come back when we're in town again.

It's hard to review an old friend!…read more Since returning to Wenatchee three years ago, we have cycled around to most of the haunts we frequented 15 years ago, mostly restaurants where we had made friends with the wait-staff and owners as well. Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

Bomb Burrito serves breakfast till noon, and maybe later if you ask nicely. At 1:30PM, Emily the hostess talked the cook into making Huevos Rancheros for me. Emily is full time, most of the time--what a sweetheart. I caught her off guard with a photo, told her she'd be in the New York Times tomorrow. She joked with me, but nothing short of excellent service with 12 other customers there (even past lunchtime). The Huevos Rancheros got its bold flavor from the garnishes, herbs, spices and salsa. The beans, rice, tortillas and eggs were very basic--it was the add-ons that brought the entrée to life. It made an excellent presentation without flames coming out my ears. Instead, a comfortable, happy tummy. (See the pics!) The whole facility and furnishings are new and spotless, especially the restrooms. Choose high tables and stools, low tables and chairs, or sit at the bar--there's always an LED screen TV in view. The menu options cover all the basics, and of course, burritos are the featured item.
