Fried cauliflower - 1/2 eaten
Sara F.

Great dinner before date night at the Gateway Cinemas while visiting Leavenworth (quick 15 min drive!). We sat outside on the patio, which was a little close to the street for my liking. My chair was not even, wobbling around, which was kind of annoying. The prices are medium to high for a pub dinner spot with one steak on the menu. But, the food and service were top notch. Delicious - homemade dips, large portions, good choices. Definitely would visit again!

Chairman of the board and Chicken Schnitzel

Good atmosphere and great friendly service. Had the meat and cheese board (Chairman of the Board) appetizer which was good. My entree was delicious! The chicken schnitzel was crispy and the risotto was so creamy. Highly recommend this tasty spot!

King Salmon

10/10 amazing food and drinks. Our server was very friendly. Great ambiance. Highly recommend the King Salmon and chocolate espresso martini.

Amazing charcuterie board

Probably one of my favorite spots in Wenatchee! Everything from the service to the food was spot on. We made a same day reservation which was definitely needed as a conference was going on nearby and the place was packed when we arrived around 6. We were quickly greeted and seated and given some recommendations by our server. Our water was served with cucumbers and lemon which was a really nice touch. We ordered the goat cheese salad and charcuterie board which our server warned was pretty massive for just two people, and he was completely correct. Everything served was delicious though - the fried goat cheese on the salad was warm and gooey, and the charcuterie board had a great mix of local meats and cheeses. Our server kindly boxed up everything we couldn't finish. It's definitely a spot I can't wait to try again!

Shrimp Carbonara
Marie G.

I had heard really great things about this place so I really wanted to try it out. The service was adequate. Nothing bad to report there. I had the shrimp carbonara. It was really yummy but also very rich! I could only eat half and then ate the other half the next day. It was still good though and had great flavor and cook on the shrimp. I ordered a lemon drop and was brought a lavender lemon drop but I'm easy-going so I went with it. It was pretty good. My friends ordered the mango chili margarita which I thought was great, and my other friend ordered the bees knees which was excellent! I would definitely get that next time. I'll be back to explore more of the menu!

Long wait , left after waiting 20 minutes... wasn't busy. No place to sit if you're waiting for a table.

This glorious gem of a place is a tasting room (for Dead Crow wines), a wine bar (offering a select number of master-crafted wines by the glass), and a bottle shop (filled with an impressively extensive list of options from the $20s to the low $100s). It offers something for every taste, including non-drinkers, and if you like wine and are anywhere around Wenatchee, this is a must visit. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered Sabrina's casually elegant and comfortable establishment until we left, floating on bubbles like we had been fêted. She's engaging and passionate about what she offers, and she is a brilliant wine talker who knows her champagne and bubbles (and if I may, has great taste in both, but I'm biased because she likes a lot of the same profiles I do). She takes good care of her customers, juggling between tastings seamlessly, keeping tastes poured and orders filled. The space feels intimate but still spacious enough that we weren't crammed next to others, and I love the color scheme. If I didn't live an hour and a half away, I would spend waaaay to much time here. So, go enjoy for those of us who can't!.

Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

After perusing the assorted yummy veggies being sold at the outdoor part of the market, the hubby noticed a car show was also going on there, too. (Note: is my spouse the only one with a near superhuman ability to sniff out a car show?) Anyway, I used this as an opportunity to check out the indoor area (it's called Pybus Market), which was housed in a renovated old steel mill and reminded me a little of San Francisco's Ferry Building (but without the insane prices). As I sampled a lovely gouda at the resident cheese shop, I noticed the lovely wine bar next door to it... and this, my friends, is how I found Jones of Washington. This intimate little tasting room features wines by the bottle or glass, or for a $5 tasting fee you can sample up to six of their fine wines. The fee is refundable with any bottle purchase. I chose three whites and three reds, with bottle prices ranging from $10 to $50, so there's pretty much a price range for everyone. I settled on buying a bottle of their sweet (but not *too* sweet) bottle of their Riesling. Well, wouldn't you know it, they were actually having a killer special on Riesling by the case so I ended up with 12 bottles to take home! The service could not have been friendlier here, by the way. They also sell various wine-related merchandise as well.

While the rating isn't super high, we saw that the public market itself is an attraction, and the pictures look like the type of vibe that my wife likes, we decided to try out Fire. The space is very open, we were quickly greeted and seated shortly. There were a good amount of selections, but we ended up going with a pizza and the pork belly sandwich. Kids got the spaghetti and cheese off of the kids menu, both were solid, easy 4-5*. The salumi pizza was also solid, fresh ingredients, and baked well 4.5*. The porchetta was absolutely delicious, pork belly was done well and paired well with the rest of the ingredients, 5*. We got the charred brussel sprouts, but it was very charred and my wife almost wanted to ask for it to be remade. I didn't mind it too much, and just continued to eat (I was really craving for some cooked veggie), I finished majority of the portion so we didn't bother to ask for it to be remade. Our waitress was very nice, but there was a period where she disappeared (looked like she had her jacket on and went out to get something) and only asked us how the food were immediately after the food arrived and after we were pretty much done eating. Dessert was this crepe with Nutella ice cream inside, 5*. Overall it was an enjoyable meal, but given the price, this was a 4* experience.
