    Sausage Burrito
    Louie F.

After three days of flavor free breakfasts at The Gorge's Oasis campground, we needed flavor. Bomb burrito was on the way home and hopefully would redeem the breakfast burrito category! So I ordered a sausage burrito and got some of their verde and arbol salsas. The burrito was grilled much like you see in CA which is a good sign. It had ample sausage, but a bit too much when compared to the amount of egg. Potatoes or beans would have helped balance the flavor. Both their salsas were great with the verde being the star for this burrito. If I was local I'd definitely head back to try the dinner menu!

Small but comfortable it looks more like a bar than a place you would pick up a breakfast burrito. I was surprised that all the meat style burritos did not come with any onions or peppers as an option but when I asked to put some on mine the gentleman was very polite and asked if I wanted sautéed or raw (choose sautéed). Was pleased with the size of the burrito. I ordered the sausage which potatoes, eggs and cheese and with the added veggies I gotta say it was really good and filling

We were in the area and looking for a good dinner spot, just randomly decided to go here. The place is in a complex with ample of parking space. It looks like a small Mexican place from outside but ample of sitting space inside. Short & sweet menu. We ordered their:- Guacamole & chips- Nice crisp nacho chips with tangy guac. Wet burrito- which comes with rice, beans, onion, cilantro, red salsa sauce, choice of meat with side of again rice & beans topped with cheese. Being Vegetarian we opted the dish without any meat. The price $20 including tax! Argh, & food quantity plus taste? Well we'd be better of going to a taco bell. Well, this is what you get when you visit a place without seeing the reviews. Lol

Went to check out the hype! Service was great! The waitress was very attentive. There was a longer than usual wait for our food and drinks. Was it worth it? Ambiance: It was busy, you have all sorts of people trying this place out. I imagined it as casual but everyone was a little extra that day except me. It was loud I could tell weather this was a family friendly place or a cantina with burritos. I hope once the hype settles down we can get a better feel. The important part the food: I tried the asada tacos they came 4 per order. They were good , meat was tender the tortillas were doubled up to prevent the taco from breaking that's a plus. But were shy of greatness mark. They came with a side of fries and they lacked salt. Burrito de adobada: this was delicious and way to big for me to eat alone definitely sharing size. It had meat beans rice and guacamole. It came with a side of chips and they were oily, not even sure how that it possible. The drinks: I tried the pomegranate mojito this was a bust it was too sweet and I couldn't taste any pomegranate. I would not recommend it. It did look pretty but fell way short on flavor. The margarita flight: it is a beauty to look at. Fresh made drinks with real fruit which is a bonus but I had to look at the menu twice thinking they were virgin drinks because no alcohol presence in the drinks. Overall this was not bad the price tag is not for simple take out though but it is not 5 stars. I would return for the burrito alone.

    Wet burrito

Bomb burrito is seriously the bomb!!! Food was bursting with flavor. We had wet burritos one with adobada and the other original with asada. Both were really good! I can't believe it took us so long to try it! The ambiance here is very nice with equally nice servers/bartender. We ordered at the counter so I didn't expect such great customer service but this place has some of the nicest people who are very welcoming and efficient.

The name says it all- the burritos are great, if you eat at the main restraint the fresh salsas are delightful.

Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

All the food was fresh, hot and delicious. The tomato bisque was exceptional! Terry, the cook, came out and said hello, asking me how I liked the meal. I let him know that I'm a trained chef, and his meal was fabulous! The waitress said he's worked there for 15 years, that his specialty is prime rib, served every Saturday. I will definitely be back for that. This bar has been here 85 years, and I moved here 30 years ago but had never been here till this evening. I'm guessing the food here is better than most of the restaurants in Wenatchee. The decor is plain and simple. The ambience is what you would expect in a local bar with a long history and a loyal local clientele. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and the staff was friendly. Even being charged a 4% credit card processing fee, food pricing is better than other restaurants. So are the quality and portion sizes. New tables and chairs with cushioned seating fill two dining rooms. And there is plenty of offstreet parking. All things considered, it's worth the 20 minute drive from Wenatchee down to Rock Island, just to enjoy the food and the drinks. I don't think anyone gets turned away here. What's not to like? This was a five star experience for me.

In addition to a casserole with all these same things was overkill. adding some crepes and/or quiches to the menu would be nice. We ordered the: - Belgian Dürüm Wrap (5s) - Bacon-Mushroom Döner (4s) - Feta (French) Fries (3s) The Belgian Dürüm Wrap was the star of the show--fresh ingredients with lots of crunch in each bite, nicely wrapped so as not to spill or leak. The Bacon-Mushroom Döner was a sandwich with enough sauce to leak all over. The flavor was complex and fresh, and all the food groups were represented. But there wasn't a distinguishing flavor-forward identity. It was a vegetable sandwich with bacon. I'm not complaining, it was good. But the wrapping did not keep ingredients and sauce from falling out on my clothing. Still, I give it the benefit of the doubt. The FFF (Feta French Fries) were the biggest challenge for me because: [Hot Fries+Cold Garnish=Cold Fries]. Maybe this combination is popular in Germany or Turkey, I wouldn't think it's popular in the US. I could have finished it, but chose not to. I'm looking forward next time to the more traditional menu items, like the Turkish Rice dishes.
