Unfortunately, we did not have the same experience this time. We like to sit in the bar area. It was slow when we wandered in and sat at the bar, but the bartender seemed bored and completely unenthused. She took our drink order and then disappeared for a while. A group of locals sitting nearby were singing loudly to the speaker music. Not a huge deal, but a little annoying--they might have been over-served. We actually had to ask someone else to order an appetizer: the Pimento dip. The dip itself was delicious, but the accompanying veggies were a little slimy. The dish looked beautiful initially, but we couldn't eat some of the vegetables because they weren't fresh. Anyway, it's a shame. Based on this experience, we probably won't be back.

That changed recently. One of the newer bartenders used what can only be described as a public triangulation move in front of other staff and customers, making it clear my presence was unwanted even though I was a paying customer who had already been there for hours. The language was framed as "respectful," but the delivery and timing were designed to create an awkward, uncomfortable situation. No one on duty intervened or redirected the conversation. A business is only as strong as the people it puts on the floor. One staff member's need to center themselves and create division can undo years of goodwill. When management's response is to explain it away rather than correct it, the message is clear: customer comfort is secondary to staff preference. I attached a short video clip to show how these same service nuances play out in real time. The video isn't meant to accuse any specific individuals of bias. It simply illustrates how easily a Black customer can be singled out in an otherwise relaxed environment, especially when one person holds influence and uses triangulation to pull others into their corner. If the goal was privacy or personal space, there are far better ways to communicate that without publicly humiliating a paying customer. A simple, polite private conversation would have sufficed. I'm not returning. It's unfortunate, because the place itself has value. I found McGlinn's in Yelp and decided I would add to my steps and walk there. When I got to McGlinn's I saw that their outside seating was full, so I went inside and was led to a table. There a very friendly and helpful server took my drink order and gave me a menu. I decided on the pepperoni pizza and was happy with what I got. It was a very thin crust, luckily I prefer thin crust. My experience with pepperoni pizza led me to believe it would be soaked in pizza grease. I was surprised when there was very little grease left on the tray.

And the rice and beans were hands-down better than anywhere in Wenatchee. I posted photos of the menu, I hope that helps. They clearly have many more food options than the other photos imply. Search the menus and you'll find something you like-- including steak and seafood. I was told the owners are from the coastal area of Mexico and the menu options reflect that.
