Rude confrontational not going back. Didn't realize I needed to give a dissertation that the drink tasted off... charged me for it anyway.

We stayed at Wenatchee after a short visit to Leavenworth. As usual, I looked up Yelp to see what's…read moregood when exploring a new area. While the rating isn't super high, we saw that the public market itself is an attraction, and the pictures look like the type of vibe that my wife likes, we decided to try out Fire. The space is very open, we were quickly greeted and seated shortly. There were a good amount of selections, but we ended up going with a pizza and the pork belly sandwich. Kids got the spaghetti and cheese off of the kids menu, both were solid, easy 4-5*. The salumi pizza was also solid, fresh ingredients, and baked well 4.5*. The porchetta was absolutely delicious, pork belly was done well and paired well with the rest of the ingredients, 5*. We got the charred brussel sprouts, but it was very charred and my wife almost wanted to ask for it to be remade. I didn't mind it too much, and just continued to eat (I was really craving for some cooked veggie), I finished majority of the portion so we didn't bother to ask for it to be remade. Our waitress was very nice, but there was a period where she disappeared (looked like she had her jacket on and went out to get something) and only asked us how the food were immediately after the food arrived and after we were pretty much done eating. Dessert was this crepe with Nutella ice cream inside, 5*. Overall it was an enjoyable meal, but given the price, this was a 4* experience.

Great food: I sat at the bar and it's a joy watching the pizzas being made: nice! The house-cured meats are also great in many of the dishes. The main salon has opened up with the central wall removed and booths turned into tables and chairs. Very nice art on the walls, and excellent lighting, create a very inviting, warm atmosphere. The back wall of the restaurant is now a fully visible open bar with every drink you can imagine. I settled for the Michelada (the Hispanic version of a Bloody Mary with beer, not vodka-- absolutely delicious!) I had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans, and I took shrimp in garlic butter sauce home to Sherrie-- my dish is shown. The red enchilada sauce was really excellent-- it made the dish! And the rice and beans were hands-down better than anywhere in Wenatchee. I posted photos of the menu, I hope that helps. They clearly have many more food options than the other photos imply. Search the menus and you'll find something you like-- including steak and seafood. I was told the owners are from the coastal area of Mexico and the menu options reflect that. What's not to like? 5-Stars!

Then the food we ordered was so disappointing from the first time we came when fairly new. Ceviche was disgusting! Not even cooked by citrus it was raw! Then they were out of avocados! No guacamole no avocado which the dish describe as having. Sadly we will not be coming back.

Corina and I shared the mama Mary biscuit sandwich, Randy had the avo stack and we all shared the rosemary potatoes. Sharing the biscuit sandwich and having some potatoes was the perfect portion size. The gravy is the best I've had in ages, maybe ever. So much flavor and an excellent consistency. We will definitely come back when we're in town again.

It's hard to review an old friend!…read more Since returning to Wenatchee three years ago, we have cycled around to most of the haunts we frequented 15 years ago, mostly restaurants where we had made friends with the wait-staff and owners as well. Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------
