Okkkkk we love this place. We had friends from out of town. Asked for low table. Sat. Ordered. Got drinks. Then we're asked to move to a High top behind us. Um. No. So they stick us way over in corner. Apparently a party of 12 was coming in at 530. Ok it's 445. You could've not said a word or asked us to be done by then. Yet nope. Ruuuude. It's 530. Still no party here. Hope u get your tip from them. Not sure if we will be back. Love the food. It was the service for us!

I'm still waiting for the avacado that should have came on my sandwich, and my boyfriend has finished his meal.

Extra long wait due to just recently reopening. My Bacon Avocado turkey sandwich had no avacado. When I finally did get it, it was frozen. My boyfriend upgraded his burger to include bacon, which was also missing. As I posted in 2019, the food here has gone way downhill. Huge disappointment after waiting so long to come here.

The NW IPA, tasty and goes down nice and easy

So besides the clear fact that they are getting everything set-up in their hybrid brewery/ tap-room restaurant, their brews are pretty damn decent. I started with their house brew NW IPA which is quite tasty and mildly bitter, and I enjoyed that prior to my food choice of loaded nachos (their small portion is huge and only 8.99, that's a good deal). Next I had the house brew Witbier which was delightful to say the least and goes down with a hint of a kick to the taste buds. My only recommendation to the Columbia Valley Brewing Co, is that they teach their taproom employees at the bar to keep their personal life issues to themselves when they are talking near the bar. Overall great place, easy to access and prices are spot on. Hop on CVB!!

Most definitely! They are welcome inside and outside on the deck. Seems there's always at least one dog on the premises when I'm there.

Sadly, many of them have moved on. But some still remain, and encountering them again is exhilarating. I always look forward to the hugs and squealing laughter.--"...where did you go and what have you done...? We've missed you!" McGlinn's Alehouse is the place we spent most of our time for the first five years of our marriage. It was originally the Orondo Tavern, built in 1922 as a solid brick two-story commercial building in the small town rural American style--big, open storefront windows on the ground floor, and small offices and apartments on the second, with tiny windows surrounded in iron bar planters. Such buildings have long narrow internal staircases up the right side entrance--one you'd never access unless to lived in one of those vaults upstairs. I finally returned to McGlinn's tonight. I had been meaning to, long before this, but there was never any parking in front --many restaurants now have covered sidewalk-cabanas out front--a code violation waved during the COVID pandemic. Inside, the left wall is still that half-block-long cabinet of all the liquor bottles you can imagine, multiplied in depth by the mirrors behind them. Down the middle of the room is one long continuous table that seats 14 people on a side--yes, strangers sit together. At the very back wall there is still, the largest brick open-hearth wood-burning oven you'd ever bake a leg of lamb and two pizzas in, at the same time. And down the right side-wall were six wooden tables-of-four, all sealed in a hard resin clear coat, as shiny and clean as they were vintage and rustic. I sat in the first chair at the first table, my back to the stairway down to bathrooms in the basement below the sidewalk. I had the Pulled Pork Sandwich with Tim's chips, a departure from the "John Paul Bacon Burger with pickled onions (McGlinn's is famous for). Ask to sit in Sadie's section--she's been there 20 years. McGlinn's has been there 34 years! What's not to like about an old friend! -------== ##### ==-------

While the rating isn't super high, we saw that the public market itself is an attraction, and the pictures look like the type of vibe that my wife likes, we decided to try out Fire. The space is very open, we were quickly greeted and seated shortly. There were a good amount of selections, but we ended up going with a pizza and the pork belly sandwich. Kids got the spaghetti and cheese off of the kids menu, both were solid, easy 4-5*. The salumi pizza was also solid, fresh ingredients, and baked well 4.5*. The porchetta was absolutely delicious, pork belly was done well and paired well with the rest of the ingredients, 5*. We got the charred brussel sprouts, but it was very charred and my wife almost wanted to ask for it to be remade. I didn't mind it too much, and just continued to eat (I was really craving for some cooked veggie), I finished majority of the portion so we didn't bother to ask for it to be remade. Our waitress was very nice, but there was a period where she disappeared (looked like she had her jacket on and went out to get something) and only asked us how the food were immediately after the food arrived and after we were pretty much done eating. Dessert was this crepe with Nutella ice cream inside, 5*. Overall it was an enjoyable meal, but given the price, this was a 4* experience.

After perusing the assorted yummy veggies being sold at the outdoor part of the market, the hubby noticed a car show was also going on there, too. (Note: is my spouse the only one with a near superhuman ability to sniff out a car show?) Anyway, I used this as an opportunity to check out the indoor area (it's called Pybus Market), which was housed in a renovated old steel mill and reminded me a little of San Francisco's Ferry Building (but without the insane prices). As I sampled a lovely gouda at the resident cheese shop, I noticed the lovely wine bar next door to it... and this, my friends, is how I found Jones of Washington. This intimate little tasting room features wines by the bottle or glass, or for a $5 tasting fee you can sample up to six of their fine wines. The fee is refundable with any bottle purchase. I chose three whites and three reds, with bottle prices ranging from $10 to $50, so there's pretty much a price range for everyone. I settled on buying a bottle of their sweet (but not *too* sweet) bottle of their Riesling. Well, wouldn't you know it, they were actually having a killer special on Riesling by the case so I ended up with 12 bottles to take home! The service could not have been friendlier here, by the way. They also sell various wine-related merchandise as well.

I don't really ever eat a potato side - I'll either ask for it to be omitted or maybe take a bite or two. It was delicious. This place is good solid Americana food. Nothing fancy, big portions.
