    BEST bouncer EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Kimberly H.

Honestly, I had such a good time at this pub in Boston! My uncle was performing in a band that night, and I had a great time!!! The main reason I had a great time was because of the bouncer. He literally made the night a night to remember. He is truly a good guy. I had an issue in the beginning of the night, and he took care of it. Hadn't he taken care of it the night would have been ruined! But he did, and I will never forget it. His service was great, it just goes to show there really are good people out there! This was a fun night, I will return :) Pictured in the photo, he's the guy in the middle in black.

$5 Guiness Drafts and $6 Ketel Ones and soda. Didn't have any food but bar service was attentive and fast.

Great pint of Guinness. High quality and at $5, $1.50 cheaper than the Harp. Good food, good crowd - nothing pretentious.

The $10 cover sucked, but it was St. Patty's day. The atmosphere made up for it. Great sliders.

Tho I've never really liked full size burgers so always been a slider fan. Damn. Let me repeat, damn. Again, damn. Super simple but so so juicy and whatever sauce they are saucing on it? My mouth waters at the memory. They are decent sized and you get 4, plus a massive tower of also very good onion rings. The onion rings were good no complaints but after the sliders nothing was going to compare so I kind of forgot any opinions I had on them. Inside is cozy, staff are fun and great, reasonable prices and good vibes anytime I've gone in. And I'll be going in again soon bc damn. A few days later I was out with friends somewhere else and we got sliders and I was so disappointed now that I've known 21st's.

Place was not super busy and our server Izzy was on it...she seated us immediately and took our drink and food orders. We snacked on spinach dip which was pretty filling and ordered some cups of clam chowda! The chef put some southwestern flavor which I thought was fabulous, since we are from TX! We finished by ordering the plate of sliders and by far, the best pub sliders I have ever had! Everything we ate was amazing. Izzy was energetic and never let our glasses go empty! The building was historic and it felt like you walked back in time! We would go back in heart beat for sure!

It's homely, welcoming, and I feel included. Last went here during the Red Bull Heavy Metal event that was happening at City Hall. Place was packed. I love the attention to detail this place puts regarding its decorative wood around the bar, the lighting, life music, and more. Great place to have a drink. Yes, I think the food could improve a bit - maybe some nice club sandwiches or vary the food offerings, but overall love this place.

We kept trying to make eye contact, but it didn't work~eventually we had to wave someone down. Even then, the response from the bar felt like it was an inconvenience just to send our server over. That said, the food was mostly good. The bangers & mash and the burger were spot on. However, the "Taste of Ireland" pies were disappointing~2 in particular missed the mark. The shepherd's pie had no mince (just potatoes and peas), & the Guinness pie was more like a beef stew than a proper pie. Overall, some strong dishes, but the service and a few key items would make me hesitate to return.

I ordered the blackened chicken quesadilla and immediately understood why people write emotional support reviews on Yelp. Perfectly spicy, ridiculously cheesy, and so good I started eating faster in case someone at the table got "just a little taste" ideas. My wife got the fish & chips, which arrived looking like it belonged in a food commercial. Crispy, flaky fish, perfectly crunchy fries, and somehow not greasy at all -- basically the unicorn of fish & chips. My only regret is that we are in town for only a few days so we won't be able to return to 5 Horses Tavern until our next trip. If you leave hungry, that's on you.

The server was very knowledgeable and attentive. The tacos were pretty good, but if you're a taco maven, don't get them. To be honest, the fish taco had too much Mayo/sauce on it. They each came with two corn tortillas, which were a little stuck together as if microwaved. It was definitely my mistake because they are definitely not a Mexican restaurant. I would be interested in their salmon dish, as well as their bowls. Four stars for good options (gf included), good portion size, and good vibes. Will definitely be returning to try more!
