I really wanted to go back every day during my business trip, but my colleagues had other plans. Our server was very helpful. This is an Irish pub so it was a lot of fun. My husband and I had dinner here around 5:30p on 3/15 and it was fantastic! We each had a bowl of clam chowder; which was delicious and thick, and we shared the fish and chips entree, which was huge and could feed two people. Our server was the nicest young guy and was very attentive. I can't recall his name, but he's happily married and loves watching RAW wresting (if this helps the owner recognize which great server he was around that time). We were exploring the sights of Boston and came about this place while walking through Quincy Market. We wanted to catch the baseball game and it was a perfect day to sit outside to watch the game, enjoy a Samuel Adam's and have some nibbles of the local foods. We were seated right away by the host who was very friendly giving us a great table. Our server followed getting our drink orders as well as bringing us water. Both very friendly, smiling and not bothered by the larger crowd in the beer garden. We got our drinks and gave our orders and not long after that our food came out. We went here over the weekend and there was no one in the bar really. There may have been 20 people or so. The music they played was good and there was no cover. The drink prices were also reasonable. The employees were also rude when it was time to leave, when we were headed towards the exit. My sister and I were in Boston for a concert. She guided us to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, where we discovered Ned Devine's. A nice place to eat! After a long day of walking around, my boyfriend and I stumbled upon Ned Devine's. After searching through the market, we decided to go the traditional sit down route because we were hungry and exhausted. We sat in the upstairs patio and we were sat down pretty quickly. Our drink and food orders were taken pretty quickly and I was excited because everything sounded pretty good. I ordered the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese and I would probably rate it a 3/10. It had the consistency of marinara sauce and the buffalo was extremely light. I also ordered the mule with raspberry and it was okay. My boyfriend ordered the Boston hot chicken sandwich and it was probably a 5/10. It would have been way better if it was hot like it mentioned in the title. Stopped by just for a snack in the middle of sightseeing and slight hunger. We read that the chowder won some awards at some point so we stopped by specifically for this. One person in our party ordered the French Onion Soup and said it was really good. It's typically for it to be overly salty but this one was just right. In terms of the clam chowder, it was really, really good! The chunks of clam were substantial. It was creamy but not overly so. There were potatoes but it wasn't just potato! Overall the experience was good and I would come back again. The only slight nit picky thing is that our waitress was literally the energizer bunny. It was a bit over the top. On most days I would say that this is a good thing, but as a waitress, you have to be able to "read the room" and adjust accordingly. read more

As I was walking around the Quincy Market area, I saw the banner for this Irish flavored restaurant so I decided to try this place. As I walked into this restaurant, I noticed the sign to check in with the host, which is near the exterior entrance. I stood there for a few minutes, then I asked the "hostess" who was eating from a carry out container told me to find a seat. Please note, there were few people in the bar area. There's another level of dining on the second floor. The bartender took my order of Fish & Chips and a soda. He placed the soda in front of me and then that's pretty much the last time he interacted with me. He was at the end of his shift so he was preparing the paperwork and just waiting to leave. I've worked in the restaurant industry, so I could tell. Few minutes later, the meal was delivered to me. When the relief bartender, Khalid S, came in, he was gone. Overall, the food was very good. Came here on a quick weekend trip to Boston. We were just walking around looking for somewhere to eat and this place looked like it had a lot of good options for two extremely picky eaters. We came into Ned Devine's while we were walking the Freedom Trail to get something to drink and get out of the cold. It is convenient to have a still down bar/restaurant inside Quincy Hall. The staff was friendly and quick to take our order. We did not end up getting food, but had some drinks while we warmed up. A decent place to hang out in the Quincy Market / Faneuil Hall area. The food is decent though some elements could use some work. The Kitchen Sink Caesar Salad was flavorful, probably because they put these (ahem!) bacon bits in the salad. The dressing was a bit heavy, and the banana peppers didn't necessarily go with it.
