I know, I know!!! I was desperate, it was Tuesday evening, I'd been a busy lassie and my tummy was shouting at me through it's low grumbles. Feeeeed me! I didn't know what state the trains were in, with all the lines down with the wind, so I was going to head for a bus. I had just missed one so instead of waiting a half hour in the wind and rain Micky Ds was the next best option. It was good in the sense it was quiet compared to the Saturday craziness of neds and trendys swinging from the fixings. So I got served straight away, so it started off well. Once the ordering process began it just went down a bit wet slippery slope of Micky Ds milkshake. I started to order and was about get charged £3.17 when I realised it was just the same as a Happy Meal, so I had to say to the man serving. So he didn't look too pleased and gave a big huff and voided the order. So ok I hadn't realised, my fault, I was tired, but to be honest I am the customer. Accidently though I have done this before and the member of staff did picked up on it and suggested the Happy Meal, which was very good of them. Anyway I handed over my £2 and then he slammed the till drawer shut and walked away. I was like ehhh........ my change??!! My meal?? Eh...what...food??! Anyway another young member of staff came up and she gave me my meal, so he had passed over my order to someone else and didn't tell me what was happening. I said to the young girl I didn't get my change, which she was shocked by, I said if you could take it out the till and just put it in the charity box instead. I doubt it happened to be honest. Oh I forget to mention that the man serving was a manager. The service was appauling. I know my change wasn't much but to me it's the principle of the situation. To them it's another 1p in their "big money making" pocket instead of mine or a charity's and I'd rather it went to the latter. I managed to find a half decent seat as most of the tables were dirty, mines was still grubby and had to give it a bit of a clean. You would think with it not been that busy that clearing the tables would have been taking care of. At the end of the day I did choose McDonalds out of all the nice restaurants in Glasgow I could have went to. It was for quickness, cheapness and convience which it did provide me. Wah, Wah, wah. But did you die? Maybe not today, but certainly in a few years. The food is consistently diabolical. Why do we continue to contaminate ourselves with such indignant chemicals? One's mind is too processed to process such metaphysical abstractions. Did you know you can get fresh-fried fries if you ask for them unsalted? You can do your best to polish a turd, but the fancy new decor does little to hide the fact that this is just like every other McDonalds, down to the 17 year old, acne ridden "shift manager", resplendent in clip-on tie, to the group of ASBO kids in the corner. You know to expect all of the above from McDonalds though, so I'll concentrate on the good points. The Big Tasty, a plain double cheeseburger, or the hot apple pie. Why in the world did we end up here? Oh right...booze + cheap vouchers= easy meal. After a night out, Sophie K, my boyfriend and I decided we were a bit peckish. Sophie K remembered that she had some vouchers on hand for various meal deals for £1.99 so we decided to give it a go. Since this location was closer to where Sophie K had to walk, we ended up here. It's like any other McDonalds during a late night booze rush. Loads of drunk people babbling to make sense of the night, ordering up some mass produced sludge that tastes oh so good after you've had a few. Big Macs, cheeseburgers and a fish fillet were order, all with fries, no drinks. Everything went down a treat as you can imagine, no guilt required. The toilets in this particular McDonald's are disgusting, dirty, wet everywhere, just put loads of toilet roll down, you'll be fine. The one girl who helped us was super soft spoken and worked the crowd like a champ. She deserves the three stars in this review for having to put up with the booze bags of Glasgow! read more

This McDonalds has always been a bit of a madhouse. Lately, though, it has been given the re-branded, "Hey, check us out, we're chic now!" McDonalds make-over. I popped in for a cheeseburger recently and realised that this doesn't change the typical clientèle of the place, and that the customers will always be a bit neddy and generally a little bit unpleasant to be around. Vastly improved since its revamp, though, and if - like me - you just have a craving for a Big Mac once in awhile, it's really not that bad at all. Just avoid it on a Saturday afternoon, alright! read more

McDonalds have in the past few years vastly improved their image. Some restaurants (if you are happy for me to call them that) have also tidied up their once garish appearance. It is for this reason that I am happy to review the Sauchiehall Street franchise as I think it is no longer a last resort money saving option but a perfectly amiable place to nip in and grab some gut busting overley self indulgent wonderfully unhealthy food. The new warmer decor and friendliness of staff in this branch make it less of a burden to eat such questionable food. For me this makes it a branch worth reviewing. read more

This Maccy D's has some things going for it, such as the location between a number of pubs and both Glasgow's train stations, plus a fancy digital ordering system. But every time I go to a Maccy's I feel a bit more guilty. This isn't helped by the really poor state of cleanliness encountered on my last visit. If you're really in need of cheap food and you don't care what it is apart from being warm, this is your place. read more

Being a guy who has lived in California USA I know what value for money is. The thing that annoys me most are these take away firms that are franchise in the UK ripping the public off. Why in American any fat food chain you go in you get free refills, while the same chains in the UK you only get a ridiculous measure? When I ask for a drink without ice then I don't expect it to be filled one inch from the top, ie 500ml. Then when you open your rib meal to see it's 2/3 the size of the box if not smaller. I know we are being ripped off in the UK I suppose the only good thing apart from the mcrib that was as chewy as the sole from your training shoes, was the French fries were actually hot. The decor looks better than it was a few years ago since I last came here. Next time it will be the Kebab and chips option. Come on McDonalds, pull your socks up, as it's the UK that has made you what you are, as all your stores in the USA are empty due to the popular In&Out "best burgers in the USA, and Taco Bel. So stop ripping the people off who have helped build your empire. read more

I'm not a great fan of McDonald's, but this place is a zoo. The way it set up for some reason seems to have contributed to total chaos. The lines are long, and my travel companion had a problem getting the chicken sandwich she ordered. I think the big problem is that it is such a popular place to eat. So go ahead, if you think you really need to. read more

Not much to recommend about eating here, but if need be - try using the self-serve touchscreens during busy times. OH needed a quick snack while we were out Christmas shopping and it was quick and easy to order and pay, his food was ready quickly (the self-serve order numbers are displayed on a screen much like you'd see in Argos and you are called to your 'collection point'!), and it saved a much longer wait in the queues. read more

The alternative fast food places are cheaper and better (or at least give you more food) why would you go to mcdonalds when there are so many places to eat that are equally cheap all around. read more

Ahh Mcdonalds. Sometimes I just want to eat rubbish and when I do I come here. It's the purest form of junk food. The world would probably be a better place if it didn't exist but I don't care. The staff are sometimes friendly, sometimes they are complete dicks. The toilet is usually in a disgraceful state. Their coffee is actually surprisingly good. I prefer it to Costa/Starbucks Nero although that isn't saying much. read more

I was in this mcdonalds and accidentally dropped a chip on the ground, one of the staff came over and started shouting at me and told me to pick it up, when I told her no because she was being rude she got me thrown out of the place!! Absolute disgrace!! read more
