The coffee shop is inviting with a lot of tables, whimsical decor charging ports at tables and kid-friendly activities including board games, cards and books. At the counter, there is a pastry case with fresh baked goods. My only note is that they don't display the names of the pastries or what's in them. For drinks, they have coffee, refreshers and matcha. All of which can be customized. I ordered an iced latte with 2% milk and it was very smooth. They also have build-your-own breakfast and lunch sandwiches with your choice of bread. I ordered a croissant with eggs, avocado and cheese. The croissant was warm, flaky and buttery. The eggs were perfectly creamy and the sandwich wasn't overly salty. I could tell everything was made fresh and it was delicious. It was also very reasonable. For a coffee and the sandwich, which was pretty big, it was only $13. My friend and I ordered everything to go but the sandwiches took a little while. We ended up sitting at a table that had a deck of cards and we played one of our favorite games. We really enjoyed having something to do while waiting. Between the drinks, food, inviting atmosphere and prices, Flakes & Fables is doing everything right!

I decided to do the large size iced Thai tea with brulee on top (about 7 dollars). After ordering, we waited in an open space in the back. A couple minutes later, my tea came. I think I ordered my tea half sweet, which was perfect as I can enjoy the flavors of the Thai tea. The brulee on top added more sweetness when I needed it. After finishing the tea, I ate the brulee, which matched the creme brulee taste from the restaurants. Service was friendly and there was ample room to sit and enjoy the tea. Smooth jazz music was in the background, making the environment inviting. While you order at the counter, the staff delivers the tea to you. This was a very nice tea place in Oviedo. The iced latte wasn't my favorite but it got the job done. I ordered an iced latte with almond milk and honey and cinnamon, and the honey was compiled at the bottom rather than being melted underneath the espresso. My friends ordered a burrito and one of the rice bowls and I ordered the BLT waffle. It took over 30 minutes for our food to come out and once it arrived, my BLT waffle did not have any bacon on it. I notified the staff and then they brought out the bacon shortly after. Everything was delicious and we cleaned our plates. Our only complaint was the long wait time, but my friend said that that was pretty typical for this location. I will gladly come back and try more menu items! The patio area was very peaceful with lounge chairs and umbrellas and was very aesthetically pleasing.

I ordered a large iced strawberry Matcha with almond milk and the overnight oats came with oats, coconut milk, fresh berries, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Sure, the people are nice enough, but I am quite literally ALWAYS waiting 15 minutes for a single coffee. Often times its more, like 20-25 minutes. Like literally every time I patiently wait and it hits me - "hey, I've been waiting a while, wheres my drink?" The food comes out quicker than the coffee usually! I ordered food from a place across the street, walked over to Craft, order a coffee, it took 18 minutes, and then by the time I picked up the food and got back - my food was cold. Crazy work. All the other shops do it fine; Deeply, Stemma, Lineage. Framework etc - their average wait time is like 5-8 minutes once you order. Craft has some serious issue with the efficiency of their barista line. And I am aware craft coffee isn't immediate unless you're getting drip - I'm only ordering an Americano, its one of the easiest beverages to make. I will sometimes even people who ordered after me get something fancy and then get their drink before mine! And to that note, its not the best coffee. Its surely good, its quality; but they're not making the best stuff in town. If there's some extra steps or something going on, its not worth making me wait at minimum 15 minutes for a drink when there's literally no line, 5 people sitting down in the shop and 6 employees. It makes me not want to go to this shop ever, its just so unfortunately convenient to where I work that its THE place to go. So thats why I'm writing this - were in the same space and I want to see them improve their wait times. They've been consistently bad for far too long! EDIT: I forgot I wrote a review in 2023 being more forgiving but still complaining about wait times. Well, clearly that has not been fixed!
