Fish and chips: menu photo versus actual meal.
John H.

We went on a Saturday night and go there around 6:30 pm. The parking lot was almost empty, we were seated almost immediately, and there were only a few customers in the place. I don't know if it's a good or bad sign that the place is that quiet on a Saturday evening. The waitress said she was just coming back after having been off for a long time so she wasn't that familiar with the menu. We got the fried pickles to start but my wife said they tasted like they had already been battered and just thrown in a fryer. So, not freshly made. I got what they called the Monte Crisco in a pancake, which was like an omelet: it had diced turkey, ham, and cheese, but in a pancake instead of an egg. When I ordered, the menu said that it came with either potatoes or hash browns so I ordered hash browns. The waitress came back a few minutes later to make sure that's actually what came with the item. But it wasn't as good as I expected: the taste of the pancake was overwhelming and I couldn't really taste the meat or cheese. Okay, sure, the pancake with the maple syrup was good, but if I wanted to eat pancakes with maple syrup, I would have ordered a stack of pancakes. The hash browns seemed like they weren't cooked all the way through. And it seemed like the diced meat was only stuffed inside and not overflowing, like the picture on the menu. My wife got the fish and chips and it was terrible! First, when the waitress brought them out, it was a few large fish nuggets, and a big pile of fries. The fish was hard and seemed like it wasn't fresh, and one of the nuggets was burned! Her dish was NOTHING AT ALL like the photo shown on the website or on the menu! The photo showed 3 long, golden brown pieces with some fries around it, but hers was more like burned nuggets. I know there's a certain amount of "puffery" on menu photos, but still! We complained to the waitress who then brought the manager over. She said that it's a little hard to cook the fish all the way through while not burning the outside. Yes, but that doesn't explain why the size of the fish doesn't match the menu. She asked my wife if she wanted something else, so she got the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and corn. (And the manager took the fish and chips off our bill.) But it seemed like the mashed potatoes and corn didn't taste fresh, like they were microwaved, since the plate itself was still hot. They had a special price to add a beverage and pie to an entree, so I got the peanut butter silk pie to go. But when I looked at it, it seemed like a fairly small slice, and definitely small for the $4.99 listed on the menu. The service was good and the waitress was quick to refill our drinks and check on us. But overall, we weren't that impressed with the food so I don't know if we'll be back.

The most terrible overcook burger

This place operates Mr. beast burger and it is complete garbage. They act like they have no control over it but the same cooks that cook for Perkins is the same cooks that cook for Mr. beast burger. After ordering my food I was excited looking at the menu seen a beautiful big Smashburger and some amazing beast fries. What showed up to me was some trash burger that was so hard it was not edible and fries that looked like they were cooked 20 minutes too long. When logging my complaint they said they do not operate beast burger which is the opposite of what the girl said before the manager came to talk to me she directly told me that the cooks are the same and they operate the same it's just a different name for delivery! Be very cautious of the scam because it goes on quite frequently where restaurants operate fictitious names to deliver garbage food! Perkins you need to do a better job besides robbing peoples money with trash food....

Love the service here! Very down home atmosphere which is important to a GA girl such as myself. I had a party of 8 waiting for 20 mins at the IHOP across the street. It was a bit ridiculous since the place was pretty empty so we left. Came to Perkins and was seated immediately and..... they had way more people. Our Waitress was very nice and continuously kept our drinks filled. We tried the southern chicken biscuits, the country fried steak, and the steak and eggs. All which were extremely flavorful and well seasoned.

The cocktail bar is the main draw for me, elevated, beautifully crafted drinks, but still relaxed enough where you can show up for a casual beer too. You can dress up or keep it chill, and either way it fits. It's also a food hall, which makes it even better. You've got multiple options all in one spot--Thrive Cocktail Lounge & Eatery for sushi, plus BBQ, vegan options, and dessert, so it works for literally any group. They host farmers markets, comedy nights, and different events, so there's always something going on. It's perfect for families, but also such a great date night spot. And I have to shout out Mel behind the barher espresso martinis are stunning every single time. Honestly, I'd come here weekly if I could. The vibe alone makes it worth

They have a tube rental truck where we rented our tubes for the lazy river over at Rock Springs. We stopped in for a few beers and a quick bite after tubing. Immediately the vibe was exactly what we were looking for. Chill, relaxed and easy going. Our bartender was a lovely chatty woman, serving with a smile and great recommendations for what we should do next. We ordered food & drinks and played some tunes on their touch tunes jukebox box. We amused ourselves with the customary message on a dollar bill tapped to the roof activity. The food came out crisp and hot. Fries were excellent! Wings juicy. Chicken tenders fried perfectly. They are a beer and wine establishment. No hard liquor. An elderly gentleman man, who we assumed was the owner, came over to say hello to us and was very pleasant also with recommendations for our next adventure. I highly recommend this bar if you're into dive bars and a good time.

We walked in and were instantly greeted by the staff, they were not busy, we went to the bar and had a seat. I looked around and noit much had changed since my last visit, it isstill a dive biker bar, which I absolutley love. The friendly bartender, Ben, came over, gave us menus and took our drink order, I ordered a beer which he grabbed and put a cold one down in front of me instantly. My wife and I both ordered Bacon Cheeseburgers with fries and Jalapeno Poppers to start. The poppers came pretty quickly, they were the typical premade frozen type, but they were hot and good. I'll give them a pas next time. The burgers arrived and they were excellent- just what me and the wife were craving. am not usually a fan of crinkle-cut fries, but I make an exception here- the are crispy and tasty. The burgers were tasty and delicious, just like I remembered. We both scarfed our burgers down fairly quickly. It was Karaoke night, but there weren't any takers, so the DJ sang most of the songs, and I must admit, he was pretty entertaining. But the surprise of the night was when the chef came out and sang a song- he can not only cook a mean burger, he can sing! If you are hankering for a good burger in a Dive Bar, I can highly recommend this place! I will be coming back more- next time I want the Cheesesteak!

I wish I knew his name, but I loved his service. The wine and the espresso martini were really good. My girlfriend, especially like the espresso martini and its blend of liquor with the tartness. In terms of the food, it was all really wonderful. The chicken and dumplings came with this delicious sauce that I couldn't get enough off. The potato dumplings were alright, but the seasoning and mix of the sauce was perfect for the chicken. The serving size was good as well and there was barely any bone to interrupt eating it. My girlfriend said that the steak was cooked perfectly medium as they asked. The steak sauce paired really well, and they had enough for leftovers, and enjoyed it even more the day after. The Mac & cheese was alright, we just wish there had been more of a crunch to the cheese. However, we both really liked the shape of the pasta as we don't really see those as often. Also not depicted here, but we got the cocktail shrimp. My girlfriend loved this one too, specifically noting how large and cold the shrimps were. The cocktail sauce was delicious and had a nice kick to it, and definitely squeeze the lemon that comes with it on the shrimp. Since it was an anniversary, they surprised us with complimentary dessert that was phenomenal. My girlfriend doesn't really like cheesecake or coconut, but somehow loved the dessert. It's an off menu item but it blends coconut, cheesecake, and a brownie.
