I decided to order from Sweet & Salty Island Grindz, and the Katsu Chicken Plate was phenomenal. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. The portions were generous, and every bite tasted fresh and well prepared. One thing that really sets Halls on 5th apart is the bar. Unlike many food halls that only offer beer and wine, they have a full-service bar with an excellent selection of cocktails and spirits. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and provided outstanding service, which made the experience even better. Between the variety of food options, the full bar, and the great hospitality, Halls on 5th is a place I'll definitely be returning to. If you're in Apopka, it's well worth the visit. read more

This is a decent little food hall over in Apopka. I didn't know it existed, and I'm glad I stumbled upon it ! They have a pretty decent selection of food . There's an empanada spot, an Asian fusion spot, Hawaiian, vegan, and a couple of other places . There's a decent amount of community seating as well. You go up to the restaurant counter that you wanna order at, place your order, then pick it up once called. There's also a decent little bar in the sitting area. Stopped by "Empanada & Co." and tried their guava and cheese empanada. It wqs delicious!!! The way the cheese was mixed/blended with the guava made it fill in the empanada better than if it were just 2 ingredients thrown in there so that was really smart and delicious. Loved the ambiance and the customer service was 10/10! The DJ they had that evening was AMAZING! Song after song my brother and I enjoyed every second! We gave two vendors a try: Brave BBQ and Sweet and Salty Island Grindz At Brave we got the Piggy Smalls (a pulled pork sandwich) with Burbon BBQ sauce and Mac and cheese. The sauce was perfectly seasoned with a little kick of spice at the end. At Sweet and Salty we ordered the Chicken Katsu. You usually have to go all the way into Orlando or Winter Park for this kind of vibe, but this place brings it right here, and does it so well. My girlfriend and I went up for comedy night. They are doing that once a month now with about 5 different comedians from the area. It was really good, it did start out a little slow but picked up in the humor department. Now this was not our first time here. We have been several other times. For music bingo, to watch a game and to just enjoy a beer. The place has a cozy feel to it. And the outside patio is nice and relaxing too. They did have some of the employees running around serving tables but this is not the norm here. Usually just go up to bar and order. But the girls did a fantastic job. They have roughly 6 food places to pick from. Tonight we had the newest place, Crave BBQ. we got the pork nachos, cornbread basket and a side of Mac n cheese. Everything was so good and flavorful. There are about 6 food vendors inside, as well as a full bar (The Egret Bar) featuring craft cocktails and premium beer selections. I ordered an espresso martini and it was solid. We decided to order food from Sweet & Salty Island Grindz which specializes in Hawaiian BBQ. We got the Kalua pork plate served with rice and mac salad. They were out of Hawaiian rolls, but the meal typically comes with one as well. The pork was really tasty! We also got dessert waffles from Parlor Kitchen and they were amazing. The flavor options rotate seasonally but we loved the corn mochi and the peach gobbler waffles. The waffles are stuffed with cookies and omg wow -- you just have to try it. The service times vary from vendor to vendor, so just be prepared that some take longer than others. They have a great outdoor patio with plenty of picnic tables for seating and lawn games out back. Really liked this food hall. It's not too big and not too many vendors but the ones they have sure caught my eye. Theres 7 vendors and when you first walk in, you see the inside seating area and the bar. You walk through the hall way with vendors and include empanadas, bites and baos, Hawaiian food, waffles, matcha, drinks, ice cream just to name a few off the top of my head. Sweet and Salty, Thrive, Parlour Kitchen, and Empanada all caught my attention. They have a parking lot beside their building and seating outside in the front and back. Right now they also have some Pumpkins and festive decs. I def want to come back again. Don't forget to visit propagate social house across the street too for drinks, music, entertainment and they have food too. We walked from there and which is across the street. I was finally able to check this place out! I came for the Parlor's waffles, but there were so many good looking lunch options, I got lunch instead. Halls is such a great addition to Apopka! It's a fun little hangout with a bar and 5 quick serve restaurants with a variety of food: a meat and cheese shop with subs and salads, a burger/bao bun/sushi spot, a vegan restaurant, a dessert waffle stand, and Hawaiian. We ended up getting the truffle sliders and the kids slider meal from Thrive. The kids sliders came with a juice box and a huge portions of fries. The fries were great. We gave the kids sliders a 3/5. The truffle sliders came on a normal sized bun, so I ended up putting both patties on one bun. They were pretty good, but surprisingly didn't have a lot of truffle flavor. I did love the onions and mushrooms though. I also got a Coco Collins cocktail from the bar. It was a perfectly mixed cocktail! It wasn't too sweet, and it was very refreshing. I can't wait to come back and try the espresso martini and the Apopka spritz! I have been wanting to visit Halls on 5th when I found out about this vegan restaurant for a while. I finally dragged my husband with me. Went in where there was possibly an outside event going on. The music was extremely blaring to where me and my husband wasn't even able to talk much. It seems like others felt the same because they were eating but not talking. Those sitting at the bar, they enjoyed the loud music as they sipped on their beverages and watched the football game. Excited to be able to try this place. They have a good amount of seating inside as well outside with lots of different vendors for different food options. We ended up at 3 of the different vendors. My youngest had a prosciutto and burrata sandwich from the Butcher's Nook. She said it was delicious. We all shared and loved the truffle fries from Thrive Eatery and the oldest and I shared the sliders - cooked perfectly with lots of flavor! For dessert we tried the waffles at the Parlor Kitchen and my oldest was also able to get her favorite Kelly's ice cream! The staff was super friendly - even coming to clear off tables. When a food hall has community building in mind over trends and profits, I will welcome with open arms! This abandoned building turned Food Hall is exactly what Apopka needs to add to their "third space". So far tenants include places for Hawaiian food, dessert, empanadas, vegan food, and a bar. I'll have separate reviews of the food in the different Yelp listings for the vendors. The space is modest and can get busy quick, but we didn't have any issues finding seats. I liked that they bus the tables for you and have waitstaff to assist with drink orders from the bar. You do have to order and pay at each individual kiosk. The place is beautifully decorated with modern decor on the inside and great patio vibes on the outside. My only critique is the kids area is fully exposed to the elements offering no shade for the kiddos. What a great addition to Apopka while complimenting the neighboring coffee shop, brewery, and restaurants nearby. What a great way to propagate community! Apopka doesn't suck lol read more

What more could you want! We visited over the weekend for lunch, grabbing a couple of beers at the spacious bar, ordering some of the best sandwiches I've had in recent memory from Butcher's Nook, and finishing with some truly memorable waffle desserts from Parlor Kitchen. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating options, which is a nice change from some of the other food halls in the area that can get quite cramped. There's a friendly employee that walks around the main seating area taking your finished trash and offering up refills on drinks as needed - a great touch that you don't find over at shared spaces. The hall is really cute with a mid century modern vibe! Lots of cool games out in the back and with a cool mural too! Lots of seating inside and outside, and plenty of parking too. The little tables come with your own lamp you can control too, which is neat. The bathrooms are clean. For the space, we give 5 stars. For the food, we thought this just okay, maybe around 3 stars. We tried the Hawaiian place (Sweet and Salty Island Grindz), which had pretty good pulled BBQ pork, rice, and bread roll. Around a 4*. The empanada place (Empanada and Co) was just okay... probably around a 3*. The empanada staff were friendly, but the food itself was really just okay in flavor. For the ice cream store (Parlor Waffle Kitchen) the cone was really good! Homemade ice cream was good too. They didn't give us enough sprinkles on our cone, and it was a $1 up charge. We think 4.5* for ice cream. Overall, a cool place and worth checking out! They will probably get better as they go along as well. read more

One for the space and one that includes the food. My Order: * Sweet & Salty Island Grindz (Kalbi Beef): Unfortunately, the beef was overcooked. There's a difference between tender-chewy and just plain tough, and this leaned toward the latter. * Thrive (Mochi Wangz): Crispy and packed with flavor, but the wings had more pink than I was comfortable with. * Empanada & Co (Chicken & Cheese): The absolute highlight of my visit. Came to this food hall for the first time after a long day in Apopka doing various activities and eating other various foodstuffs. We wanted a nice dinner from several different micro-restaurants, so we pulled up, sat down, and got to work. The bar itself was very visually appealing. The customer service was a little stiff and just a little off. Maybe a little more training there. But the drinks that came from behind it were good. They had a couple of non-alcoholic beers available, so that's always nice. As for the selection of restaurants, it was very varied. Any group of people would be able to eat here successfully and find something for every palate. There's even a vegan place. I love seeing that. I don't want to rate a food hall based on the individual experiences at the individual food stalls I encountered, but the experience was good, not great. Compared to what the gold standard of food hall experiences should be. I don't hold food halls to the standard five year statute of limitations that I do traditional restaurants, so I'm sure I'll be back to try again! read more

One of the nicer food halls! The volume of business depends on the timing of the day, in the afternoon its quieter, after 5pm it brings in a crowd. There is a bar inside along with high tops and short tables, and the food is seperate which causes much less foot traffic. I can appreciate that there is a variety of food options like Vegan, Polynesian, Hispanic, and Italian. There's even outdoor seating with picnic tables and activities for the kids. I would return to eat at Soulicious as my meal was super tasty and well seasoned. Everyone I encountered was super nice and helpful.
