We ordered two family style meals for our office and had a good experience. We got the chicken and waffles and the Bissell platter which came with our selection of biscuits, scrambled eggs, sausage, and hash browns. The food was well packaged and easy to serve. Everything was hot and fresh. They made sure we had plenty of condiments and plastic ware. I did order for pick up at 9:15 and the order was not ready when I arrived. It did cause me to be late. If you select a pick up time, the order should be ready to go out the door at that time. I was told they still had to make it. Mornings get busy and they were nice about it, so I understand. My family wanted to stop in at Metro Diner for a delicious BLT and onion rings to continue a birthday celebration. Diana was our marvelous and helpful server on this day. Diana let us know that the double BLT could be made with two pieces of bread instead of the three pieces as stated in the menu. We all loved to hear that and ordered it with the two pieces of bread instead of three. The birthday girl was given a very large slice of chocolate cake as a treat. As I continue my quest of falling back in love with Florida after living overseas for the last five years , today was Metro Diner! This place was so good! I'm always initially overwhelmed by all the amazing choices on the menu and metro didn't disappoint. Today I got the Bissell breakfast and substituted a waffle for pancakes. You can add fresh fruit on top of the waffle. Imagine a delicious griddle cooked waffle with strawberries baked into the batter l. The hash browns had the perfect amount of crisp and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The portions were ample and service was impeccable . I love a place who offers a drink to go!! read more

Enjoyed a valentines brunch with my love to start our day. Wait time was only about 25-30 mins and while waiting we enjoyed conversation with the Girl Scout troop selling cookies. The amount of food that you get here for the price is great. I always get the chicken and waffles when I come. The strawberry butter and the spicy syrup is delish. The chicken is actual chicken, not tenders. What people don't know is that then chicken and waffles comes in a 1/2 or full. I'm so happy Metro Diner has Mimosa Flights . They're really good . The flavors are -Pineapple -Peach Mango -Orange -Strawberry Lemonade They also have coffee flights too which I plan on trying on my next visit. I ordered the French toast and Chicken meal. It's listed on the menu as chicken & waffle, but I subbed the waffle for the Croissant French toast instead. Everything came out very quickly. They have sauce mix that goes well with the chicken ( mix the Louisianan hot sauce with the maple syrup ) it's like a sweet & spicy taste. The ambiance was super busy , so I added myself to the waitlist while parking so they texted me when to come in to be seated , so that's an awesome feature. It was Valentine's Day and Metro Diner had the inside decorated for the holiday. We waited a good 25 to 30 minutes for a table for 2. As soon as we walking in, we saw the specials board and saw they had Strawberry Shortcake Waffles. I had to order the Fried Chicken Tenders and Strawberry Shortcake Waffles with a Cranberry Juice. I've been to Metro several times in past (pre-Yelp days). I've always enjoyed the breakfast. They had several specials written on the chalk board. I was conflicted on this visit because my appetite hadn't returned after my workout. I didn't want to order anything too heavy or too big. I went with oatmeal, a side of sausage patties, and coffee. They serve a good size portion of oatmeal. The french vanilla coffee was delicious. Service was good. The server let me customize the fruit bowl that accompanied the oatmeal. I am GF and was surprised to learn that they had a whole GF menu! They made my meal, but before they brought it out, the waitress said that she was notified of accidental cross contamination and that they were fully remaking my meal. The staff was very friendly when taking our order and when we needed something extra. However, there were some things that I'd like to point out that I didn't like. There were 8 of us for this wonderful breakfast gathering. We ate everything so quickly I wasn't able to get pics. The best part of our visit was our waitstaff, Bree. She was helpful, patient and very attentive. My family can be challenging to please, but this visit was perfect. I shared the Bissell with my spouse, tasted many other entrees. The omelets are delicious. The nieces loved the waffles. I prefer the pancakes and they are tasty. The eggs are always cooked as requested. The grits are good and I love the whole grain toast. From the moment we walked in, Sasha set the tone with a warm quick greeting that made us feel like we had been regulars for years. She was incredibly accommodating throughout our meal, but one gesture in particular went far above and beyond. When my wife mentioned being unexpectedly cold, as the AC was recently repaired and working very well, Sasha didn't hesitate. She literally offered my wife her own personal jacket to wear. That is not just service, that is heart. Speaking of heart, when my world famous chicken and waffles arrived, paired with that signature hot syrup combo that deserves its own standing ovation, I noticed the strawberry butter had formed a heart shape. I recently ordered from Metro Diner through DoorDash, and my order was incorrect. I took photos of the food and receipt to document the issue and contacted the restaurant directly. When I called, I was placed on hold while an employee spoke with a manager. The manager then told me that because the order was placed through DoorDash, it was DoorDash's responsibility. However, the restaurant prepared the food, attached the receipt to the bag, and placed the wrong items inside the order. I understand that delivery issues can sometimes fall on DoorDash, but when the wrong food is packed and sent out, that is a restaurant error. I was disappointed by the lack of accountability and willingness to help resolve the situation. Because of this experience, I will not be ordering from this location again, and I would caution others ordering through DoorDash to carefully check their orders. Customers should not be left paying for food they did not order with no resolution offered. read more

A couple behind me seated at the table was playing YouTube videos with music set VERY loud on their phone which they had set up on the table to watch. This continued for about 20 minutes. I asked my server (Dakota) to ask them to stop. Music continued. I personally (and politely for whatever it's worth) asked them to please stop. He proceeded to TURN THE MUSIC UP LOUDER. A few minutes later I asked Dakota to ask them again. Customer stood up and announced that I "should shut the eff up" I was literally surrounded by staff this entire time. No one did anything. Finally the manager came over but not before the couple walked out. There was absolutely no reason for staff to allow that situation to slowly escalate like they did to the point that their female patrons (me) are being verbally threatened by male customers and in fear for their physical safety... and for what? So that he can play videos with full volume and disturb everyone? Really-- for what? Why? Manager apologized to me and that's it. I'm from a small seafood town and I've spent many years searching for shrimp and grits as tasty as the dish from there. I consider myself an expert on seafood dishes having been raised on seafood. Metro Diner over performs more than any restaurant I have ever eaten. If I could give an award, they would win! I'd send a picture but I was hungry. The very best shrimp and grits EVER!
