The food here is very overpriced for a McDonald's such as a Big Mac for 6.59 besides the drinks are 2 dollars with mainly ice. I'll start by saying it's important to give benefit of the doubt and people who work in the food business have a hard job so it's important to work with them and be graceful. That being said sadly this issue has happened multiple times so I wanted to mention. First experience a few months back the person taking our order was rude, let it go as they could have had a bad day or just had a misunderstanding with our order. Today I came in and made our order, the app has a special buy a breakfast sandwich and get one free. Person on the taking my order said they can offer that but no egg. McDonald's on Redwood is convenient, but consistently bungled orders and unhelpful service makes the experience a bummer way to start the day. The app prompts you with a full menu selection of Breakfast Sandwich options, allowing you to select 2 of the same or 2 different. Then it tells you that your selection is 'unavailable at this time'. Hmmm.... No Biscuits? eggs? Cheese? Go inside and order (where you are unable to use the app), and PRESTO!, the sandwich of choice is suddenly 'available' !?!?!?! McDONALD's: you lure customers to your restaurant with the promise of a deal, then renege??? What a way to win a customer over. PS: McDonalds UX/UI/dev, your crummy app can't distinguish between a 'Reward' and 'Deal'. Each order is allowed 1 'Deal'. If you use a 'Deal', app bumps out selected 'Reward' as a 2nd 'Deal'. I have accumulated enough rewards for several freebies, but have as yet been able to add a single one to an order. Management is an unfortunate joke too. Of course it's not their fault that the McDonald's app is DELIBERATELY DESIGNED to 'RENEGE'. But when you show management the problematic order, they suggest 'your device is broken'. Okay, that's just lame. The app certainly works when I allow it to charge me for both sandwiches. (Yeah, let's insult the customer by BLAMING their iPhone.) They try again, 'The deal must be expired'. Show them the DEAL is not expired. Finally, this manager will 'bait' you. 'You don't know how to use the app'. It's McDonald's ... and it's just like all the other locations. Sometimes your order is wrong. Usually, it's fine. Sometimes someone working there is in a bad mood. Usually, everyone working there is fine. The place is clean. The restroom is clean. They have free wifi (which does time out after a while, and this is a great reminder that I stopped for food, not to resume working for hours on end) and they don't seem to mind if you take up a table to get some work done. The negative reviews here don't make a lot of sense. I fairly regularly eat at this location, or one in San Rafael, or one in SF (mid-market). They have the same number of folks working and performing each role. Order accuracy is about the same. Just like at any restaurant in the world, when there's a rush you're more likely to see errors. The manager at this location is very nice, and not all locations have wifi. I would prefer to eat here than a lot of fast food and fast food type places. read more

This is the letter that I am sending to corporate. They need to know. I think you need to shake up your Mill Valley, CA location, store #1561. My wife and I stopped while driving though at 6pm. There were no customers present and in addition to the openly yawning counter person there was one clean-up guy emptying the trash. The store was nothing less than filthy. The floor needed a wet mopping, the condiment area was stained and sticky and the two ketchup pump dispensers were completely empty. I did not venture into the dining area or into the rest rooms. I told the yawner about the ketchup. My order was simple: a daily double meal and an additional diet Coke. the yawner forgot the additional drink, so had to ring it up and I had to pay again. The sandwich was fine, a good menu addition. However, the fries were awful: barely warm, soggy, limp and obviously had been in-queue for more than the 10 minute limit. We discovered how bad the fries were once we were in the car and given the situation just kissed off the experience and threw the fires out with the trash. How sad to find a McDonald's restaurant in such a deplorable condition as "I don't care" attitude, dirty, lacking in condiments and inaccurate order taking and delivery. Okay, I have to put my two cents in, for what it is worth. First let me say, I am not a big fan of Mickey D's, no matter where it is located. Generally the food is just plain not healthy. The only thing they've ever had going for them is long hours and fast service. It's another of those places that getting in & out fast is the primary goal. I actually do not think this Mickey D's is any worse than any of them. All fast food joints have crap speakers. Admit it, have you ever been to one - Wendy's, Burger-King, A & W, Mickey D's, etc. - that had a speaker that worked clearly? Add a teenager with an attitude and a different language and I have always felt extremely lucky to get even close to what I ordered. Actually, the menu & charges screen that some of them have has helped a lot. At least you know that the order was received correctly. I have to admit, I occasionally drive through here - - if I'm in a real hurry and starving. "Double cheeseburger , please." It is only a $1. It isn't big, but it takes the hunger away while I'm driving. And I figure you can't mess a coke up too badly - and they never have yet. I have always gotten what I ordered - but, of course, I don't order that much. I would never consider eating a real meal here consciously. It is only a place to keep me going when I really can't stop - and, if In-and-Out Burger up the street had a drive-thru, I'd probably never come here even for fast food. Not as good as Peets or Starbucks, but it isn't half bad and it is WAY CHEAPER and faster than either Peets or Starbucks. Don't know how I ended up here at 3:30 am...Damn! I wasn't even that hungry :( I think it was more the fact that there was something open that was open 24 hours in Marin. I promised myself that I would never review a McDonald's... but this experience could not go un-noted. I ordered a small snack to go (drive-thru): Filet 'o' Fish and a McDouble Filet 'o' Fish - the best I've had to date. Super soft bun (buttery!), fresh-out-of-the-oven fish, good cheese (as usual), and a perfect quantity of tartar sauce. I nearly creamed myself with each bite... McDouble - Particularly good today as well. Again, buttery soft bun, which pretty much made the burger better than the usual goodness I tend to appreciate. Lots of onion shreds added to the overall taste. At the drive-thru, the cashier asked me about my window tints (to my car). He said, "do you get tickets for your dark tints?" I replied, "no sir, I ALWAYS turn down my windows when I see a cop passing by... this includes rainy nights." We both shared a chuckle, he gave me the food I was about to enjoy (see above), and I was on my way. Poor Customer Service Watch out for the heavy set Hispanic manager!! He restricts your beverage refills to just one per visit. This rule is not posted anywhere in the restaurant, and it is appalling that he would make a big deal over repeat refills especially since refills probably cost the restaurant hardly anything. Keep in mind that other McDonalds locations have no problem giving as many refills as the customer desires, and the In-N-Out down the street has a refill your own beverage bar. OK, before I get into writing about this particular McDonald's location, I've got to admit that I am actually a McDonald's fan ...but I'm a fan of McDonald's that are ONLY located in Australia. Why? Because in Australia they tend to serve a higher quality meal, provide better service and they seem to accomplish this all with a higher level of hygiene. I rarely go to McDonald's in the USA - sorry, they just don't meet my standards on several levels! Now for my recent experience... My son and his friend stopped at this McDonald's location for breakfast last week. When they returned from their McDonald's visit, they began to experience 48+ hours of violent stomach problems. Worst of all, this wasn't the first time we've experienced problems here. After becoming ill after visits here, I often wonder why McDonald's don't pay more attention to their washroom hygiene - this is the likely source of their food borne illness problems.
