Asked what kind of cheese comes on a specific breakfast sandwich and this kid was aggressive about how he didn't know or care. The lady at food window is muttering obscenities under her breath when I have the audacity to ask, using "please" and "thank you" mind you, for ketchup packets. I have been to this location three times in the last 2 years and will never go back. They have not gotten my order right ONCE. If you do drive thru or carry out, check your bag before leaving. Absolutely terribly run location. Pulled up to the drive-through around 10:30 PM and waited four minutes for the car in front of me to have its order taken. When I finally pulled up to the speaker I had to repeat my order three times to be understood. Then pulled around to the line to pay and pick up my order only to find four cars in front of me. Clearly the staff was struggling to fill the orders properly, as there was multiple back-and-forths between customers and the staff exchanging food until a given order was correct. After around a 15 minute wait and still number two in line, I left the drive-through line and drove away without ever receiving my order. Obviously speed and accuracy are essential in a drive through line in this place failed on all accounts. Customer lost for good. read more

I have never written a review on ANYTHING in my LIFE so i am either really impressed or really displeased to take time away from my job to sign up for a yelp account and post a review, that came only after googling the McDonalds on Old Dominion Drive in Mclean,VA for the phone number to complain, only to find that the FAX number is published as the phone number. After I vent I will fax a copy of my review over to the number. I have been working in the office all morning and found myself craving a Mcdonalds Sweet tea and nugget meal so I begged coverage while I ran down the street to get something to eat. After waiting in line and feeling sorry for the poor guy who has to wait outside at the drive thru window (whats up with that anyway, seems cruel considering it is 102 degrees outside!) Fix your speaker soon so that innocent people working for less than appropiate pay dont suffer heat exhaustion. Anyway, after paying for my purchase I get to the second window where the lady seems too consumed with other things to even look up at me. She tosses me my bag and never ask me what kind of sauce or do i need ketchup, I am begging her pardon, saying excuse me, I even tried to whistle and failed, finally, I yelled HEY! and she turns around looks up and says YES! as if she heard me all the other times and never cared to acknowledge me. Her expression was on that made me want to embarass my mother by reacting ignorantly, but I didnt want to embarass my mother with bad manners so I asked for sweet and sour sauce and ketchup, the angry woman tossed the items in my hand and dropped some of them on the ground never apologizing or even thanking me. Not that I felt I deserved thanks possibly but not to put anyone out of there way...I get back to my job and disrobe my drinking straw, sink it into my large sweet tea on the hottest day of summer only to find the SWEET TEA HAS NO SUGAR!!! YUKK!! Worse surprise ever to a southern girl who has her heart set on a sugary tea to battle the hot summer afternoon! I tried to call and got a fax machine. Im totally blown over the fact that I have to eat salty fries and nuggets and no drink, i refuse to drink tea with no sugar, whats the point. Literally you barely stop your car at each window and you are moving as fast as you can to get your wallet out so you don't hold it up. The people are always friendly and it is my favorite McDonalds. This morning our car was hit at considerable speed while we waited in the drive-thru lane of this McDonalds (for an iced coffee of all things). An elderly woman behind us had mistaken the gas for the brake and she plowed into our rear end with unbelievable force. Our car was thrown into the back of the car in front of us. Neither our car or the car in front of us was moving at the time of the crash. Had we not had our seat belts on we would have the windshield. In the seconds following the crash, we got out of car, checked on the elderly driver who hit us (she was okay) as well as the car we were smushed into (he was fine, too). Our vehicles were not as well off. Between the front end and the back end of our one-year-old Jetta TDI wagon, I'm going to guess $15,000 of damage, minimum, was done. Why am I writing this here? Because in the two minutes after this accident, as we waited for the fire department to arrive to check on the dazed elderly driver, as well as the police department to come, the ONLY communication from McDonalds was to a ask us to move our cars from the drive-thru lane so commerce could continue. No one asked if we were okay, no manager EVER emerged from the restaurant to speak to us (and we were all there for an hour or so before the two truck arrived), no one offered us assistance of any kind. Only for us to move our cars quickly so people could get their Happy Meals. While we have lost our car for the next few weeks, we are of course grateful no one was injured in this wreck. And the three parties all worked together very cordially in the aftermath. The only true bummer was the total apathy demonstrated by the workers at this McDonalds towards customers of theirs who had been involved in an accident. Their only concern was making sure their drive-thru window was cleared of the debris quickly. Thanks for nothing, McDonalds of McLean. Should any of you get into a car accident, I hope the people around you are more concerned with your well being than with making money. read more

It's McD's so you know what to expect and that the food is just so-so...it's cheap and not bad, but not great. However, I'm giving this place 4 stars b/c they are so efficient. I have read some reviews of bad service here, but I've never experienced that. We live in McLean and I use McD's often in the morning to get coffee and sometimes the oatmeal or egg muffin and they are super super fast, clear, listen attentively (I never have to repeat my order in the speaker like I do at other McD's or fast food places), and get the order right! I've not had any bad service after 20 or so visits (yes, I like my McD's morning coffee!!) so they're doing that right! read more

Update: construction is complete, McDonalds is open once again Wow! Best McDonalds I ever had! I wasn't planning on writing a review but I was so impressed. The McGriddle (which I got with a fresh round egg) was perfectly cooked and my Caramel Mocha latte was perfect - not nauseatingly sweet like some locations make. Definitely recommend and will be coming back soon. Just updating that the service and quality continues to be very impressive! They have employees standing outside during busy hours even though it's freezing (hopefully they're not too cold), and they'll apologize if you even wait a second. Great for a quick snack or coffee in the morning! Since many people use the drive thru, I have found it to actually be faster to just hop in real quick and get what you want rather than waiting in the sometimes ridiculously long line for the drive thru. The service is good and it is as clean as someone can expect for a busy place, although there is almost always someone cleaning the place when you enter it. It is also one of the few in-city McDonald's that know how to make an espresso, rather than asking you what size you want! read more

OK. So the food is just fast food and all McDonalds are the same. Not true. I would never give a rating to a fast food place as the food is always mediocre or worse. But out of all the McDoanld's I have been to, this one knows how to do customer service. No matter how long the line at the drive-thru they get you out fast. This location never fails to make me regret eating at McDonalds. When I walk in the staff seem to be bothered that they have to take my order. When I receive my order it is usually wrong. They either got a request wrong (no pickles) or they completely forgot to give me something. And half the time there is no ice in the ice machine. And they never give me my sauces! I know these aren't life threatening issues but I refuse to go to mcdonalds again (unless they replace some of the staff with machines). read more

Three years later and nothing has changed. When they say at window no. 1, "do you want a receipt?" you had better say "yes" because your are heading for a fight at window no. 2 over your incorrect order. Now vastly experienced in the ways of this particular Mcdonald's when I'm told by the rude women at window no. 2 that they have my order right and that I am a stupid American (yes I know Spanish), I just hand them the receipt from window no. 1 and make them get the meal right. Of course Often I have to then go park in space 1 and 2 for cars waiting for drive-thru food, but at least I don't have to listen to the personal insults in Spanish where they call me "greedy cow" when it is they who have my order wrong, not I. McDonald's Headquarters take note. You need to clean shop here. It's not right that your customers are saying "thank you" for getting abuse heaped upon them at window no. 2 for errors that are not their fault. (It has never occurred to anyone at this McDonald's that they should be thanking the customers for their patronage. I find it odd that I "thank them". Sometimes I get a grunt back. usually nothing. Sometimes i just say "You're welcome" when they have thrown the bag of wrong orders to me just to mess with them for not saying "thank you and come again". read more

This McDonald's is a disgrace. I've been there twice in four days and it was worse the second time than the first. First, they forgot the sauce for my McNuggets, and when I called to let them know, they didn't answer the phone! 10 times I called and never an answer. I finally called McDonald's corporate and complained. I then got a phone call from the regional manager to apologize. Yesterday I went there for a soda. The woman at the counter couldn't tell me the prices of their soft drinks, she just said "it depends." (No prices listed on the menu, hence my question) After ordering the drink, she had to try 4 times to get my Apple Pay to register the sale. She then walked away and began preparing another customer's order. I asked another cashier who was standing at the same register if I could get my cup and he said "she'll get it." After another customer placed an order after mine, this cashier then turned around and brought back a cup which I assumed was for me. He told me it was for her (HELLO?? I was first). Turns out she'd ordered a different size than I, so it wasn't even her cup anyway. The lids were messed up and looked like someone had been manhandling them. This location is a disaster. There must have been 13 cars in the drive-through, which should give you some idea of how poor the service. Avoid!! read more

Bad management and employees. First I entered and used restroom, toilet was stopped up and not just with paper. As I proceed to order I think the cashiers name was lesbian.. anyway she was very rude in taking my order and telling me that I get my cup with the food, then when the worker placed my order on counter he called a number different from mine then walks away. The cashier then tells me that's my order and I'm like are you sure he called 255 my order is 254 she then makes an ugly face with a rude gesture saying sir it's your order. My review is based on the service I have been getting. I assume the food is standard. This place is the only McDonald's within 3 miles from my home (very unfortunately) and on my way home daily. I have seen poor or lack of adequate services all times. While drive-through may be fast, the lines insides are long and move slow due to apparent shortage of hands and lack of experienced servers. This is the most efficient and fast mcdonalds I've ever seen. They are constantly monitoring the drive thru lines and move people fast even if there's a big crowds or long lines. Regardless if how anyone might feel about the chain, this place is managed well and the staff work hard to keep it clean. That's why I give it a high rating. Like other Yelpers before me, I feel silly for reviewing a McDonald's, but this one has to have the most efficient drive-thru of any I've been to (and, seeing as I have three kids, I have been to countless McDonald's -- drive-thru dining is how we roll). Just today, I didn't even come to a complete stop in the drive-thru line. One guy took my order while walking alongside my car discouraging me from stopping, then another guy ran my credit card to the next window, and finally a lady is waving me past the pick-up window with my food in the bag. Yes, I'm reviewing a McDonald's at 5 stars, but hear me out. I haven't been to one in years, and when I pulled up and ordered a large #1 combo with diet coke I thought I'd get decent fries and a squished burger. The people who took my order were professional and efficient, the burger was great (with the proper ratio of sauce to square footage) and the fries were hot and not littered all over the inside of the bag. Im not big on Mcdonalds but i do frequent this location from time to time for coffee or an occasional breakfast sandwich, and although the staff isn't always the most chipper, they are hands down one of the most efficient fast food restaurants I've ever seen. They take your order and get you in and out in seconds, unlike other stores who are bogged down during the morning rush, this was facilitates the process and I have yet to have an order wrong from them, which is RARE for a Mcdonalds. The people taking orders at the drive thru are about as bad as they come. Today, fifteen minutes before closing, the woman who took our order ignored me when I asked how she was doing, added a quarter pounder to our order without being asked to, then sounded horribly inconvenienced when the order was repeated back for clarification. There was nobody at the first window when I drove up, but was not informed to pull up to the second window to pay either. After seeing my receipt, I noticed that the additional Lg drink that was ordered was not included. Also, the meal that was supposed to be LARGE had been changed to Medium. It took every ounce of my patience to remain polite. After getting home, I noticed that my Mcdouble did not have extra pickles, despite repeating my request TWICE for the woman at the drive thru window. My boyfriend's McChicken did not have two extra pieces of cheese that were paid for either. This experience was a complete s*** show from start to finish. Drive past this Mcdonalds- it is a complete waste of your time and no matter how many times you try to clarify the order at the Drive Thru, you will receive attitude and the order will be wrong no matter what. read more
