Portuguese sausage, scrambled eggs & steamed rice (8/28/25)
Marie B.

Surprisingly, a great economical breakfast from the drive through and eaten at the parking lot (8/28/25). Great drive through staff! Perfectly cooked steamed rice, slices of grilled Portuguese sausage, and fluffy scrambled eggs. We were provided with compostable utensils, shoyu, S&P packets. Delicious twist on local fave combo!

Nice McDonald's friendly people and also pretty clean. They have codes to use the bathroom. Inside I actually thought it was a cute and quirky style and far from plain and boring. Not bad

This is not a fresh nugget but visibly stale!

You could improve on everything! First your customer service does not exist, the staff minus two individuals I have encountered here is horrible, they either hate their job or lives either way they applied to a service based industry, but the tail follows the head so management can definitely do much better! Food is horrible not that fast food is healthy but at least serve me fresh unhealthy food. Not old visibly stale food. I order and asked specifically for my food to be cook to order, the drive through representative was as always rude she stated "I got it hold on", if it doesn't say cook to order on the screen like it should how do I as the customer know you got it? What makes these people on this island everywhere and I mean everywhere so unhappy, angry and down right seemingly miserable?!?! I then tell the representatives the window that I asked for cook to order prepared food, I park and guess what..... yep they brought out the same food and yep it was not cooked to order it was the exact same nuggets. So you had me wait only to give me the same food?!?! WOW I would give no stars if I could!

Very disappointed when management wouldn't refund the meal they made incorrectly. Gonna stop wasting my time with this garbage food and curt manager's..

KIHEI, HI 96753 / AMERICAN FAST FOOD / 10-29-23 / DINNER +The McTeri Burger is legit. +The restaurant was recently renovated, so it was fairly clean inside. -They don't serve Local Breakfast all day anymore. You can only order Local breakfast items until 1:00 P.M. -They are constantly sold out of the haupia (coconut pudding) and taro pies. -The have 4 self-order kiosks and 1 manned register. -No more fountain soda station.

Was just exploring and running errands all day that we dropped by to get a a quick snack of fries , a cheeseburger and a shake. Classic McDonald's fast food fix for myself and my cousin. Lol

When in Hawaii, one must stop at McDonald's for their pies. No, they don't just have apple pies here, but they have haupia and taro pies! (Although, the taro pie seems to be always out, sad face). But the haupia pie alone makes the visit to McDonald's worth it! The pie is fried instead of baked like in the mainland. In addition, the filling even has pieces of coconut inside. Eat it while it's warm and you could not have a better dessert. There are also some special Hawaiian breakfast options here as well. Don't miss out on trying these items offered only in Hawaii. Tip: Download the app and get good deals (free fries on Friday's!)

Nothing's free here... not even water Our last evening in Maui, we just wanted something fast and easy since we had to be up early the next day for a morning flight. Drive-thru was busy so we decided to order inside. It was a little after 8:00p. Two things: Their vending machine was broken/out of service. We asked for two cups of water at the counter with our order. We were charged 80-cents per cup for freaking water... really?! Just as we were finishing eating our meal I saw a baby cucaracha taking its usual skitter across the end of our table! I just about jumped out of my seat! Gross! Employee at counter not too friendly. No, I got nothing more to add. I don't even remember how I got two check-ins here and made me a Duchess of this McDonald's ¯\_('~')_/¯ Review #2716

Their service here is horrible!! The person in drive thru literally ask you what you want once and then just goes silent!! We wait for quite sometime thinking she's going to come back and ask what drink or what size we want but nope!! So we say "hello" then she proceeds to ask us what type of drink.. I order a Teri deluxe cause there's a BIG SIGN with it and apparently they advertise it but they don't serve it at the moment!! okay so arriving at the window she had no smile and just looked at me.. the French fries were old. It had absolutely no crunch and was rubbery. The chicken nuggets were hard like rock, LITERALLY, and all the drinks were missing about 2 inches of drink. Cause that's how empty the cups were!! Upon payment, they took my card which was the first usually they bring the machine out so you can tap your own card. And upon returning my card they did not give a receipt....

Fast service and good food, plus regional specialities at the best prices you'll find on the island! The local deluxe platter for breakfast includes eggs, spam, Portuguese sausage, and rice for under $10. You can also order platters with just spam or Portuguese sausage instead of both meats. Try the Haupia. It's a fried roll with coconut cream/pudding inside. Delicious! They also have fried apple pies. These are the same as the apple pies you'd find in the mainland US, but they're dropped into the deep fryer.

After see a fellows yelpers review on MacDonalds. We aren't Mickey D people. We noticed that Mickey D's slightly different food items then back home. We had to try McTeri burger, quarter pounder bacon cheese meal. The McTeri burger was very sloppy juicy and very yummy the fries were hot! Must eat this burger away from your body or you'll be wearing the sauce!! For walk in orders there is only one set of door to go in and out. Due to Covid and shortage of staff they don't allow dine in. Drive through was very busy. We decide to go in and order our meals. Plenty of parking easy in and out.

lol I don't know why I feel funny writing a review for McDonalds. Maybe because there's a plethora of good food in Hawaii, and I wound up at McDonalds? Well here goes. It's McDonald's. Not like I had high expectations, so I can't say we were truly disappointed. We just came here because a friend suggested we try at least 1 McDonalds in Hawaii to try their local stuff. I mean the Hong Kong McDonalds we went to had things like taro soft serve and rice with their happy meals. So why not? Unfortunately, we came after a long and fun day at Haleakala so by the time we got here, I think the local pies were sold out. Bummer because I was excited to try a haupia pie, but all they had was apple. The only local item on the menu was the spam/Portuguese sausage and egg platter. It did it's job, which was to satisfy my husband's craving. But a monkey can obviously fry up a better spam and egg. All in all, it's McDonald's.

While we were eating something else happened so I went to talk with another staff member, who took care of this issue. This turned out to be case of if it will go wrong it will. The manager was told about all that happened and stopped by visit. He took care of things, and asked that we give them a try again. We did, and here what happened. We had just lunch near by and wanted to have one of the various milkshakes. So we stopped in a few days later. The was fairly busy, and hostess sat us at a table in front of the counter. The server came over to take our order in asking us what would like to eat? My wife tells her, that didn't want anything to eat since we just had lunch, and only wanted milkshakes. The servers face soured a little hearing this. She walks behind the counter, turns to lean against the counter with her back to us talking with the young man who makes the shakes. She brings the milkshakes over and they were good. Our server never smiled the whole time in dealing with us. She dropped of the check and walked away. We paid cash, and left. You know that place where you always have a bad experience. Unfortunately Cool Cat Cafe is one of those for us.

Let's just say I enjoyed THREE in 15 minutes! We also ordered the fish and chips and fish tacos, and both were delicious! Great food, excellent service, and a fantastic spot to enjoy lunch in Maui. I've been to the Monkeypod kitchen in Ko'Olina, Oahu, and I have nothing but positives to say about that location. When my father wanted to take the family to this particular location on Maui I was looking forward to it. Unfortunately, we were severely let down. When we sat down, main server asked me probably 3-4 times if I wanted anything other than water, and finally I caved and got a maI tai. After I finished it, he asked me another 3-4 times if I wanted another one, despite me telling him I was good after the first one. I appreciate attentive service, but the guy was incessant and trying to upsell us. As far as dinner goes, Food started to trickle out slowly over the next 5-10 minutes, and it was clear that the kitchen wasn't organized. I ordered the bulgogi tacos, one of my favorites at the other location. Unfortunately, they were lukewarm. The worst part was, they completely forgot about my father, who only ordered fries, and when he received them, they were lukewarm, limp and soggy. After my father asked for the tab, he noticed there wasn't a mandatory tip included for the wait staff, but there was actually a separate 4% tip for the kitchen. Since when is this a thing? How about you pay your kitchen a livable wage and quit putting it on the customers? So my father refused the pre-selected 20% tip and tried to put in a "custom" tip of 16% of the bill, which when added to the 4% would have been a total of 20% - in my opinion pretty generous, considering the lackluster service. Here's where it got bad. The server was practically breathing down his neck while he entered his tip, and when he was handed the payment gizmo because it wouldn't take the tip amount, loudly exclaimed "That's not enough!" and then threw it down on the table and stormed off. How demeaning and embarrassing! Is this how you treat customers here? I helped my mortified father figure out how to make the machine accept his tip (despite my suggestion that we drop the amount down to a penny) and we left without another word. Monkeypod, shame on you for: - embarrassing my father, who is a very generous man, - employing wait staff that openly demeans their customers, - serving us mediocre, lukewarm food, - and demanding an extra 4% for the kitchen that didn't take any pride in what they made. What a shame.
