The pork was so crispy it was basically a bacon taco in disguise, piled with fresh cabbage slaw and a sweet-spicy salsa that had me seriously considering ordering another round. The fish taco was fresh, bright, and exactly what you want from a taco stand a stone's throw from the ocean. The homemade tortillas were the real star of the show. Warm, fresh, and packed with flavor, they elevated everything wrapped inside them. The kids both got quesadillas, and the highest compliment a parent can give is that there wasn't a molecule left on either plate. My wife ordered the tofu tacos and thought they were fine - not great, not terrible. But let's be honest: nobody flies to Hawaii and says, "Take me to the best tofu taco stand on the island." The staff was friendly enough, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the walls were covered in cool artwork and quirky local references that gave the place a ton of personality. If you're in Kapaʻa and craving tacos, put this place on your list. I'd come back in a heartbeat.

It turned out OK. I had gotten some courtesy points from BK customer service, enough for a free whopper. So used the app to place an order as we were leaving the beach, so we could pick it up as we headed back to our hotel. The whopper did end up free, and unlike other promotions, I could apply the buy 3 items (whopper jr, original chicken sandwich, fries, drinks) for $7 promotion here (though it's $10 in Hawaii, where it is $8 in Long Beach where I live, and $7 in most other places in the country). The food was ready and we got it via the drive-thru as promised. This location allowed adding tomatoes to my chicken sandwich, heavy lettuce/pickles/onions on my whopper, and getting a plain bacon cheeseburger for my wife. We were satisfied....my only (big) complaint is that the burger artist refuses to acknowledge any toppings being asked for 'heavy'...even though it was marked as being done, it contained the same amount of toppings as a regular version.
