Misleading and rude staff. It says online they have vegan options like beyond burgers, so I stopped by and wanted to confirm the buns were vegan before ordering. I spoke with the woman who was working at the counter and she was incredibly rude. Instead of answering my one simple question, she said "we have gluten free buns available." That wasn't what I asked, so I repeated the question. She gave me a weird look and just repeated the same thing about the gluten free buns. So I ask for a third time and she goes "we have regular buns" with the same look. I can assume at this point they don't have vegan buns, so I leave, but wow! Decided to stop here since the burgers are made with 100% Kaua'i beef. The customer service here was not great. There was 1 party in front of us & the couple asked for no lettuce & tomato on their burgers. The cashier reaches up & taps the menu & says they don't come with that, in a condescending voice. My family finishes ordering & while we're waiting for our food, that same party that was in front of us goes back to the register & asks for a side of onion rings. The cashier asks the cooks to add a side of onion rings to the order. The cook responds out loud "well his order is already done" meaning it was an inconvenience. We get our food & it is a very small burger. I do expect for things to be more pricey on the island which is fine but this seemed extreme. It was $10 for kids sized McDonald's burger which comes with no lettuce, tomato, or cheese. Lettuce & tomato was $2 extra. The food itself was good, but not great. I would highly recommend checking out Kenji Burger instead. Their burgers are about the same price, more filling, more flavorful, & they also use 100% grass fed beef as well. Even the fries are a lot better at Kenji Burger. Once we were done eating, as we're exiting the restaurant, both cooks & the cashier are all on their phones. Which in hindsight is not a huge issue, but the cooks had their gloves on that they were cooking with & touching their phones. We passed right by the cashier to exit & never got a "thank you" or "have a good day" as he was glued on his phone. Which, isn't the biggest issue. But when little things slowly start adding up, it becomes more noticeable. I personally wouldn't recommend this place. read more

My only complaint was the size of the fries and onion rings. I think I must have got the 3 rings at the bottom of the bag because they were sized to fit on my finger. Very Tasty, Our favorite spot lunch so far being on Kaua'i for 5 days already! We will DEFINITELY be back before we head home! Great place to sit inside with a view of the ocean and enjoy an amazingly juicy burger. That burger went down way too easy. Loved my teriyaki burger with pineapple. Expect messy goodness and one of the juiciest burgers ever. Fries are alright, nothing special. Enjoyed the banana shake. They use the small straws but with the warm weather is sucked up easy enough. We chose to sit on the deck facing the water. It's bench seating and we even met an adorable golden retriever on the dog friendly patio. I mean it's not the worst burger you'll ever try but for the prices it's a little whack. regular burgers are same size as mcdonald's burger so a double or triple would be like a normal restaurant burger. $1.50 extra for lettuce and tomato (they legit have a sign saying is not good because they import from the US and don't use local produce like... at least they're honest.) I asked for lettuce wrap (which is $1 more expensive to add 2 slices of lettuce instead of bread) and it was an absolute JOKE lol. also paid for the onion ring/ fry combo and I received 2 pcs onion rings. at this point it was just laughable. i've only ever been not disappointed in the milkshakes, but I don't expect much else anymore. it used to be a local joint now it's just an old kapa'a town tourist trap. read more

OK. I'm not in the habit of giving negative reviews, but honesty is necessary here... So I had a bit of a craving for fries & since this place was closest to home, I figured I'd stop by. Yes, I live on island; over 6 years now, from Southern California, born & raised OC girl. I haven't been in this place for several years, mainly because I don't eat beef (or pork) anymore... & being that their all beef burgers are their only burger/meat option, you wouldn't find me ordering one. On this visit, I ordered the truffle fries & thought why not, I'll add some onion rings, because I haven't had an onion ring in a while! The girl at the register was really sweet, & no complaints about customer service in general. So I paid for my order, sat inside & waited... The place is a really cute, somewhat small burger style joint with a few inside tables where you can watch your food being made & seating outside facing the street... but that's not why we're (I'm) here writing this review. I'm writing this, because I've had truffle fries before & these not only were the LEAST enjoyable I've EVER had - sprinkled with very lightly shredded cheese & what looks like some seasoning - but also, the side of my tongue started breaking out real bad after a few fries. I'm not going to post a tongue pic here, but I got about half way through eating the fries, & because my tongue started getting even more inflamed, I had to just stop eating what was left altogether (picture shown). I'm guessing it might've been an allergic reaction or an ingredient sensitivity of some kind. Not sure. Other than that, these fries also got COLD rather quickly... it reminded me of McDonald's fries, that get this weird consistency when they're cold? Kind of chewy with a crumbly texture inside? I know some people enjoy cold(er) fries, but even as a child I NEVER did & that goes the same for ANY fries like that in my adult life... I have a major aversion to them! FYI, I don't eat mc'ds & haven't in YEARS. Also, let's be real, you get what you pay for & I'm used to paying $15+ for TRUFFLE fries. Truffles are considered a luxury ingredient in certain kinds of restaurants. Why? Because they're not easy to come by & you can't mass produce them. So, for $5.50, I really have NO idea where Bubba's is getting their supply from, or if there was truffle AT ALL in that "seasoning" mixed in with the cheese topping. The Onion rings were fine, I won't knock those... BUT not enjoyable ENOUGH to return for "just" them. Suffice to say, since there's really nothing here that is edible (for me), I won't be returning. I gave 3 stars, purely for the friendly employees, the cute aesthetic & the decent onion rings. That's all I have to say about that. read more
