I was in the mood for a Loco Moco and found K&K Island Eats. The next question for me was, "Do I go with the traditional (hamburger patty) Loco Moco? Or try something different. I decided - Crispy Shrimp! The gentleman that owns the truck was very nice. He answered all our questions and was great as there were a number of us ordering. When I received my food, it was a full plate. It came with 4 crispy shrimp, mac, rice and egg. The sauce was on the side which I love cause I wanted to dip the shrimp to keep it crispy. The rice was fresh and fluffy, the egg was cooked just the way it should me and was topped with cilantro and green onions. The mac was creamy and really good. The shrimp was crispy and hot but the star of the dish was the gravy. I could have drank it like water. lol. The food truck was with a few trucks and if you are having a hard time to choose, I'd give the nod to K&K based on my dish. read more

Well this place is absolutely insanely delicious. We got the loaded fries and honestly it was so good! It's a 2 minute walk to a beach and the staff are very friendly! Honestly I have nothing bad to say about this place, definitely try this food truck out of all of them in the parking lot! read more

Great customer service. We were the only ones there and they were kind to offer us some canned juice in the house. We ordered the volcano fries which were really good. Best garlic shrimp I ever had. I decided to go with a few options and garlic shrimp and coconut shrimp were the two I decided on. I don't know what type of sauce they use but it's honestly one of the best I've ever tasted. Ask for the heads to be removed as I found out this is a traditional fish truck. They also offer other items and plates which consist of the item you have selected and some days it comes with Mac salad which is equally as amazing. Only issue with this place is limited seating, limited napkins and Utensils due to the huge high demand of tourists coming and going from the food truck park. read more

The ahi katsu wasn't fully cooked disgusting. It wasn't fully cooked and the breading was soggy . The ahi color was wrong and it just plain didn't taste good. Not sure what happened with this truck but it's gone down hill. Will not ever eat here again. Not to mention this lunch was $30 read more

The loco moco patty was pre bought and really hard. The eggs were gross and overcooked The Mac salad was too sweet. 20$ for Asian style food that says it's local. One of our favorite meals on the island! A must-try! We ordered the Garlic Style Kauai Shrimp, Kalbi Marinated Beef Short Ribs, and the Double Fried Crispy Garlic Chicken and they were all soooo delicious! We had Regular plates with rice, Mac salad and Kimchi. Portions were generous. Love how they put extra rice under the entrees so it soaks up the yummy sauces from the shrimp, beef and chicken! Wouldn't want all that yummy goodness to go to waste! The shrimp and chicken were so super garlicky, just like how we like it! Beef was so tender and the sauce was yum! So good! K&K is located in the food cart pod in north Kapa'a along the bike path - next to the pool. We have enjoyed K&K several times - and I need to try more things. I can't get away from the Ahi Katsu. It is FANTASTIC! It comes with rice (white, brown or upgrade to excellent fried rice) and some of my favorite island mac/potato salad Daughter and I each got the Ahi Katsu - she went with white rice. You can choose a side salad instead of the mac/potato - but why? That just sounds so wrong. Daughter plans to try the Kalbi Rib plate lunch in the next week or two. read more

Overpriced in my opinion. Paid $50 total for Ahi Katsu plate and Chicken Combo plate. Both were terrible, the chicken tastes like frozen chicken nuggets from the store and the fried ahi was so bad my girlfriend threw it away, wouldn't recommend even if it was cheaper. read more

I can honestly say that the food I have had at K&K's is absolutely the best I have had. They don't seem really welcoming at first when you order but warmed up later on pick up. Our friend told us they had a "pay it forward" with aloha service where anyone could grab a ticket off the wall. We were able to feed our entire family a delicious chicken dinner! Excellent service and great portions (not too big). Lacking a star because it was WAY too salty. The chef was probably not tasting the level of salt he was using. I could not finish my Aji Katsu because the sauce was way too salty. And unfortunately, when I ordered the furikaki fries it came as hurricane fries, which is kupi mayo and Unagi sauce and then they added additional salt so that also was too salty. I would've eaten the whole thing, but I just can't have that much salt on my food. I also work at a restaurant so I am definitely aware of the level of salt that is appropriate and this was just far too much. So be aware of that otherwise it was great. My family sampled a few different trucks in this general area and this one definitely did not disappoint! My 6 yo got the garlic chicken plate and even the mini order was very generous.
