The shrimp had such a nice texture and flavor I could tell they were great quality. The spicy garlic sauce was definitely the best I've had. So much flavor and with just a bit of kick to complement the umami shrimp. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Kauai and will come earlier just in case they sell out!

Several years ago we would buy HuliHuli chicken from a man who had built a large grill on the side of the road. It was really good, and we were disappointed when he retired. We heard about Richie, but the last two years could not find him. This year, success! Our first visit to the truck we got 2 Hull Huli chicken halves, so we could have it 2 nights, with leftovers for lunch. At first bite we almost lost our minds! Smoky, tasty, juicy chicken, even the breast was fabulous! Then we came up with a plan - to buy another 1/2 and freeze it and take it home so we have a good dinner the first night. It's ready to go! It's important to check their hours when their food is offered, since it differs from their open hours. Currently food hours are 10:30 - 14:30, W-Sa (opening one hour earlier on Saturday). We came on Friday, and walked around the mall until their kitchen opened. It wasn't too busy yet, so was able to order and pay. While waiting, added two cans of alcohol, at which time the food was ready. Brought everything out to the common outdoor tables that can be used for dining. There is a large choice of local beers in cans, and we chose two: Lanikai Brewing Company's Pualani Sour Ale ($6) and Paradise Ciders (Honolulu HI)'s Lei'd Back Lilikoi ($3.50). Both were good, and would absolutely use this store to buy local beers to take back home in the future. My wife ordered the fish and chips (also mahi mahi), and it was delicious too. I've eaten at plenty of food trucks over the years, and this one takes the top spot.
