My husband ordered the Kenji Burger, which was juicy, flavorful, and piled high with toppings - caramelized onions, cheddar cheese, tomato and arugula. I chose the Misoyako Fish Bowl. Lots of parking. Nice and patient staff. Service was quick. The loco moco was pretty good (that's probably all I'd get if I was to ever come back). The poke is mediocre (nothing to rave about). I do like that it comes with avocado and rice. The gyoza was too overpriced for what it was. A bit overcooked if I'm honest. The sauce container busted so it flooded the gyoza by the time we got to it. This was our first time here and will not be our last. read more

The food was great. I got the taco trio and each taco was flavorful but I think the beef one was missing something. It was just beef, a sauce and two pieces of tomatoes. I also got a side salad that was full of flavor - yummy Asian fusion tasting. My husband got the truffle burger and furikake fries. He loved it both. Lots of parking. Ahhh Kenji Burger! We had take out - a Misoyaki fish burger and a veggie burger- both with fries. Both were delicious and powered us through a 3 hour business meeting. Kenji burger - 5/5 The grass fed hamburger was broiled perfectly to medium. The Kenji burger flavor is kicked up with teriyaki ponzu aioli sauce which gave the burger a wonderful unique flavor. It added a slight sweetness to the savory burger. Be aware this burger is very juicy, and your fingers and hands will be sticky from the sauce that oozes out with every bite! The Kenji burger a winner! Furikake Fries - 4.5/5 The furikake sauce was over the top layer of fries and is very tasty. It went very well with the french fries. The only comment that I would like to point out is the sauce is sprinkled only on the top of fries. When you're finished with the top layer of fries, the middle and bottom layer of fries have no sauce. Suggestion - drizzle some sauce on the bottom layers, or offer extra sauce to the customer if needed. Our experience at Kenji Burger was enjoyable. We will be back to try other menu selections that look deliciously appealing. I recommend giving Kenji Burger a try. read more

Very tasty veggie burgers. It tasted like it was impossible or beyond meat. The spiced tomato jam adds a kick to it that makes it unique. Service was fast and the food was filling for what you're paying for. I feel like one order of fries could feed 2 people. We came remembering a wonderful char-grilled burger but we were wrong. The burgers are just grilled like McDonalds. The beef is much better, lean Hawai'i ground beef and it was ok, just didn't rise to a higher level as we expected for a premium burger. They were dressed ok but fries are extra and they were fried brown and crunchy to the point we didn't eat them. Their drink selection is limited and they have few beers available. It was not busy at all, just a couple other tourists. They really need to provide uniform shirts. The place was empty but we had to sit at a tiny table. So my wife is heading home from work and is passing by so she stops by and tries to get it resolved and girl at the front says she "knows for a fact that she packed it" and "there's nothing she can do about it but give a credit", kept saying she put it in the bag and asked the cook to verify. Was told to go back the next day to pick it up...why would I want to come back the next day? I ordered dinner for tonight, not tomorrow.. I'm trying to get it resolved now. Yeah, by the time my wife got there it was 5 minutes before closing but sorry, your restaurant is the one who didn't put the correct food in the bag and then not answer the phone. Couldn't give me a refund, couldn't refund the difference between the regular side of fries and a Japanese burrito. All she could do was give me a credit or come back tomorrow...right on. Made both me and my wife feel like straight up liars, telling us to double check the bag lol, you think we didn't do that before we tried calling!? Ridiculous. We ordered the following as takeout: - Hapa Burger - Misoyaki Burger - Chicken Katsu - Furikake Fries Total ~ $63 The food was good- the burger was actually a really good burger. Everything else was good average . We came in with high expectations from what we had seen on social media. Our fries were soggy; however, it could have been due to having them as takeout versus dine in. We unfortunately had a not so positive service experience. There was a moment where it seemed that the two staff were gossiping about us as they were whispering and glanced in our direction a few times (this could very much be an assumption.) When we asked for ketchup, one of them was going to give us a handful (the standard amount you'd expect) but the other staff stopped her from doing so, and only gave us two. We also didn't receive any utensils/napkins in our bag. This whole interaction made us feel off. Other things to note: parking was easy; location is in a plaza; the interior looked clean, with a few tables and a bar section; service took about 10-15 minutes. read more

Had to order take out for mainland guests in middle of storm. The order was waiting for me in the 15 minutes I took to get there. The kitchen labeled every box, drew hearts on the children's orders. Threw in extra French Fries for free and packed everything perfectly so it arrived home hot. You could not ask more from both the front room and the kitchen. The food was excellent and guests were really pleased. By coincidence everyone went with burgers except one child who chose grilled cheese. The bill was only $85 or so. Saw in a YT video that this was a go-to spot for burgers. The YT video was right, it is a good spot to eat at, but we didnt order burgers. We ordered a Rainbow burrito and a Chicken Katsu bowl. My husband said it felt skimpy in how much Katsu they were giving for $12. However, i felt like the burrito was the right size for me for having it as the first meal of the day. Service was nice, tended to us and gave us time to think about our order. You can seat yourselves. There is no bathroom here so you have to go outside the restaurant for it. We seriously love Kenji Burger in Lihue and in Kōloa. Both are great food. We ordered the old Skool burger and different types of sushi. Service is good. Waiters are considerate and friendly.
