Tiki Tacos was outstanding. I honestly have no complaints. As someone from New Mexico who takes good tacos seriously, these are hands down the best tacos I've had on the island. The Surfing Pig is a must-try, especially with the extra hot sauce. The flavors were incredible, the ingredients tasted fresh, and everything was packed with flavor. If you're looking for great tacos, this place is absolutely worth a visit. I'll definitely be back. read more

Tiki Tacos was an absolute winner. I went with the Kahuna Fish Taco and the Tiki Fire Pork Taco, and both were fantastic. The pork was so crispy it was basically a bacon taco in disguise, piled with fresh cabbage slaw and a sweet-spicy salsa that had me seriously considering ordering another round. The fish taco was fresh, bright, and exactly what you want from a taco stand a stone's throw from the ocean. The homemade tortillas were the real star of the show. Warm, fresh, and packed with flavor, they elevated everything wrapped inside them. The kids both got quesadillas, and the highest compliment a parent can give is that there wasn't a molecule left on either plate. My wife ordered the tofu tacos and thought they were fine - not great, not terrible. But let's be honest: nobody flies to Hawaii and says, "Take me to the best tofu taco stand on the island." The staff was friendly enough, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the walls were covered in cool artwork and quirky local references that gave the place a ton of personality. If you're in Kapaʻa and craving tacos, put this place on your list. I'd come back in a heartbeat. read more

Well...the freshly made tortillas taste delicious. And it's interior, what it is, is a funky cool. But if you're going to get food here (and you experienced what we did) definitely get a quesadilla (with your meat of choice) instead of a taco. I say this with complete conviction because the tacos we had (carne asada) maybe had 2-3 small pieces of meat and the other 95% of the taco the cabbage slaw. This couldn't be right, but it was how every taco we received was prepared. The quesadilla wasn't overflowing with the filler and tasted much better. Maybe they didn't like me, I don't know. I was having a good day and enjoying my time inside until the order was up and we all looked at each other, befuddled by a surprise visit from Cabbage Slaw World. We won't return so they don't need to worry about us but on your visit be sure to ask them to go really easy on the cabbage slaw! read more

Some of the best food we had on the island. Even better than the expensive restaurants. It just hits so hard when you've had a long day and you want a good lunch. We ordered tofu tacos and a couple times my husband had the fish tacos. They just have the best recipe. They don't have anything but tacos, but the tacos are amazing. The service is also fast and friendly. Also, it is expensive just like everything else on the island. read more

Literally the first stop I made from arriving into Lihue -- had to come back for the delicious tacos! They were as delicious as I remembered them being eight years ago... fresh tortillas packed with meat and topped with salsa, slaw, sour cream and cheese. Two tacos is plenty of food for a filling lunch. The gentleman taking my order was friendly and helpful as I decided what to order. Food was ready very quickly as well! This was our first stop after arriving on the island. This place is always hopping! It's a small location, kind of a hole in the wall, with seating inside and outside. The disco lights in the restroom were fun and comical. We ordered our food and some drinks and waited for our name to be called. We grabbed a table and chairs outside. The food was ready quickly. These tacos are HUGE! I thought it was a couple of tacos. Nope. It's one taco. It could honestly be a burrito lol. I got the Al pastor, my oldest got the pulled pork and my youngest got chicken. Everything was wonderful! They offer forks to eat what falls out of the tortillas. Definitely a fun place to stop! read more

Pretty solid spot for tacos. They definitely don't skimp on size. They were all good but the Kalua pork taco was really amazing and special. The fish tacos were solid, and the crispy pork was pretty good but the Kalua pork was the one I'd go back for. The not spicy sauce is incredible. You come for the tacos, not the ambiance. Tables outside near a parking lot. The server answered our questions about the tacos but a miscommunication led to me ordering 2 fish tacos after she said one was fried, only to find out they don't have fried fish so we just ended up getting 2 of the same taco when we would have liked to try something different. When we asked her about it, she just said they didn't have fried fish and didn't make an effort to resolve the misunderstanding. Still, good food, at a good price, and definitely order the kalua pork! read more

Tried the kahuna fish taco--yummy overall, but the fish flavor didn't really come through. The true imu kalua pig taco was better--crispy, salty, and satisfying. Friendly service and a casual ambiance, but a few downsides: no self-serve water (only bottled) and no napkins or wet wipes provided. For the price, I expected more protein in each taco. read more

Underwhelming. I think they lack creativity and the meals were bland. Ordered shrimp tacos and fish tacos. No fried fish options. Just feel like they could improve with some creative fresh fruit salsas to improve the uniqueness of it. Sorry really wanted it to be amazing read more

When I saw positive reviews from Yelp Elites in my community, I knew I was in good hands! The tacos here are fresh, creative, and BIG. They are unlike any tacos I've ever had, in the best way. Along with slippah hikes you can do in November, I wish Anchorage had tacos like these. The menu is tough to read in the Yelp photos though, I wish they had it in a better format so you could order ahead easier. (they take some time to make) Oh, and one more thing: their sauces are incredible! (their process for boxing up sauces to go though, leaves much to be desired) read more

My first experience with Tiki Tacos and the owner was at an off site event and he only served a limited set menu. Everyone around me was smiling watching me take my first bite because as a Kauaʻi girl, I surprisingly never ate here before. The taco was incredible! Meat tender, incredible sauces, and the taco itself, handmade and delicious. Shortly after, I dreamed of it again and had to stop by their physical location and the staff was friendly and the parking lot was spacious. Fast forward to today, I stopped in and saw the owner and needed to order what I had at that off site event. He was so kind and did remember so I got that and the paniolo asada. Before he wrapped up my order, he very kindly mentioned to eat the beef asada first and the paniolo second to enhance the experience. I'm all about trusting the professionals and his recommendation was spot on. The tacos were SO good, I had to write this review as soon as I finished eating it. 10/10 for flavor and experience! Obviously will return again read more

Worth the hype? Yes! But choose a taco wisely and arrive early. The homemade tortillas made these some darn good tacos but the "Best Fish Taco" did need some extra sauce. The Mayan fish taco and Surf and Turf tacos were amazing! At 6pm on a Sunday, ordering was quick but it was a 30 minute wait for food to come out. It's a small kitchen and the gentleman taking our order did alert us of the wait so no complaints! read more

We were looking for a good taco place in the Lihue area and came across Tiki Tacos. It's a Mexican/Hawaiian inspired taco place. The tacos are very large with lots of toppings. We tried the best fish taco, the Mayan fish taco, and the al pastor. They were all very good but our favorite was the Al pastor. Very flavorful! Beware of the spicy salsas. They aren't lying-they're very spicy! read more

I used to LOVE this place and have always recommended it. Their fish tacos used to be quite large. Went again yesterday (hadn't been in a while) and was disappointed. The tacos was still good, but so much smaller! :-( they are $10.75 each, so... Tiki Tacos! Please put more f8sh in the tacos! read more

Tacos were pricey but large--two is enough for a big lunch. Filling was juicy and flavorful. Fish tacos were grilled, not fried, but pretty good nonetheless. The pork taco was my favorite. The homemade tortillas were thick and had great flavor. Biggest knock against it was the wait--we waited about 30 min for three tacos. Some seating available indoors, plenty outdoors. Lots of parking in the lot out front. read more

This locally owned restaurant is a small, cute, cozy place with cool decorations to symbolize their Hawaiian and Mexican fusion cuisine. They specialize is several types of tacos that are both traditional and also a great, unique blend of cultures like a kalua pig taco or a pork and shrimp taco. Yum! Their handmade and homemade tortillas are outstanding and very fresh. Their tacos and other items are very generous in portions. We loved their chicken taco, fish taco and carne asada taco. Their special salsa was also very delicious. If you love tacos, we recommend you come to this place. Service here was very friendly and helpful. We loved it here and will be back for more read more

Favorite place for tacos! Still as good as previous years! Carnitas tacos are my favorite here! Can still only eat 1 and be satisfied. This time there weren't many chickens joining us outside. Still have wipes for the tables. They have also branched out on Kauai with other locations. We always go to this location since this is where we like staying, but great to know we could get Tiki tacos in the South side in Waimea if we had to on a day adventure. We went here multiple times. Did go one evening at 5pm on a Wednesday and unfortunately they had already closed. Usually stay open until 7pm. Also first time we went here on this last trip they didn't have carnitas that day. Which was disappointing. read more

The tacos are large, the tortillas are decent, but they do break on the bottom so be careful. Over the years, it feels like the quantity of meat they put in the tacos has decreased, but the flavors are still good. I don't make it a point to stop here every time I come to the island, but will stop sometimes. A bit pricey for tacos, but that's just how food is on the island. I'd recommend it once for someone who's never been. read more

Outstanding taco but man was it too pricey for my liking. Loved the freshly made tortilla and the freshness to the fish taco - and quite honestly, was enough for me just ordering one. WEnt really well with a generous helping of slaw, cheese, and whatever that secret sauce on top was! Service-wise, took a bit but they were busy and it was hot as hell inside - didn't love the location either but felt like a solid neighborhood spot based on how many people were hanging around there. Outstanding taco though - would def try again. read more

Good tacos! They're big and pretty filling, and I like that they come with sauce and sour cream. I got the grilled veggies which were decently flavorful, and the quesadilla with marinated tofu added. The tofu seemed to be more to bulk up the quesadilla than to add flavor, because it wasn't that much flavor coming from the tofu. Still, I enjoyed both of them. I also wasn't too impressed with their salsa selection, I don't think they added too much. Could have been better. read more

Just amazing, I'm not quite sure how this place isn't 5 stars cause it rocks. Genuinely the best tacos I've ever had, if you rate this place less than 5 stars then you're a bum, ok. Yes fine, the tacos are expensive, but, they are more than double the size of a normal taco. The service is fabulous, me and my family were greeted kindly upon walking in the door and were given "the rundown." We were recommended fish and the exquisite pig tacos. I couldn't get enough of the kindness and enthusiasm that went into this restaurant. The owner is like the awesome uncle that gave you a BB gun for your B-day without telling your parents (that's a good thing), he's just got the welcoming look and feeling that no one can resist. I wish I found this place sooner! The the tortillas are so fresh she could see them making it right then and there. The salsa that they have complement their tacos so perfectly. This was a small hole in the type of spot that my husband heard about. Its suppose to be a Hawaiian style tacos. The decor inside was very interesting....lots to see. They have some inside and outside seating so the choice is yours. I ordered 1 tiki fire pork, my son had 2 tiki fire pork, and my husband had 1 fish taco and 1 tiki fire pork taco. I thought the portion was a good decent size but it did take a while before the food as it was quite busy in there. Well my son liked it, as he is 14 and eats everything in site. I liked it and 1 was filling enough for me; however, hubs thought it was okay with a hint of a little overly priced. read more
