    Right by the beach

This taco truck is right by Hanelei pier and that makes it convenient if you've been at the beach or pier. I had an ahi taco and a kulua pork taco. The pork taco was delicious. Lots of pork that was flavorful and moist. The ahi taco was tasty, but there just wasn't enough fish. The service was quick, the prices are cheap for Hanalei, and it's as casual as can be. We sat at a picnic table that was near the truck.

Maybe they should move the garbage cans that attracts so many flies

Good location Adequate gringo style tacos with very small limited menu. Maybe they should move the garbage cans that attracts so many flies The 2 guys working there have zero energy and zero personality‍ There's only 1 picnic table and just wish they would clean it?

Tacos need some work. The fish was fantastic, but the rest of the taco was rough. The tortilla was my biggest gripe - seems like they harden up soft tortillas on the grill, and it ends up being a crusty shell that mostly sucks. Slaw and pineapple salsa were whatevs. I think Pat deserves another shot, but first stab wasn't awesome.

A roaming taco truck featuring tasty fresh food. We were spending the morning at the beach and opted to give them a try. Prices are reasonable ($5 taco, $10 burrito) and you can choose from carne asada, Kailua pork, fish or rice and beans). My two pork tacos were bursting with sweet luscious pork and a smattering of cabbage and the burritos were filling and full. We also got a couple of fish tacos (light grilled fish) that were super good too. Definitely happy to find them up here in Hanalei

This was one of the best tacos that I've had to eat, no joke. Believe the hype because they are the real deal. Don't worry about the price either, it's a small Hawaii island and everything costs more here. Keep that in mind when looking at the cost. The taco serves here are decent portion sized that comes in a crunchy shell that has tons of flavor upon first bite, it really is that good. I only tried the steak, but I want another one right now as I write this. If you're in the area you must try this place out.

The food was off the chain. The people working the truck were super cool. The only down side is you have to eat on some plastic table on dirt.

FYI location moved to Ching Young Village Shopping Center west side of Big Save market due to distraction of Hanapepe Pier area from hurricane over a year ago. Quite delicious food. But bit of limited menu. Still great. See my photo of menu. I loved the fish taco with tropical salsa, and quesadilla with jalapeño cream (if you don't mind a spicy kick). My friend had rice and bean taco which was tasty. Also the Kalua Pork taco was tasty. Bring cash. Cash only. Takes about 5 minutes to get your order- pretty fast.

My hubby got the pork burrito and carne asada taco. They were really quick with his order. Hot and fresh. Great timing too because he was approaching hangry grumpiness, but then there was Pat's calling out to us with the smell of Mexican. In between chowing down my husband spoke two words "Really Good!"

Pat's Taqueria is located on Hanalei Beach. Pat's provides hot fresh burritos and tacos made to order. I trully appreciate Pat's being here. Really convenient not having to drive to get food. I wasn't expecting much but was really surprise how good the burrito and tacos were. The pork is tender, marriage with shredded cabbage. The fish tacos is made from Marlin fish, fresh and moist. The portion is not huge but good enough to fill you up. Price is reasonable considering where you are. Bottom line, Pat's provides hot delicious food right on the beach. If you don't feel like driving, Pat's is your next best thing!

Pat's is a food truck that has a few options for tacos and burritos. My personal favorite is the carne asada taco. It keeps me coming back year after year. FINENESS! It's one of the meals that we travel to Kauai for. Please note that he is no longer at Black Pot but in the parking lot to the left of the Big Save in Hanalei.

Two thumbs up! The menu's small but they're quality items. Service is also friendly and relaxed. We went on Friday at noon and the truck was up and running. I think what makes it is the quick dunk of the tortilla into the deep fryer, it made the taco have a distinct crunch which was oh so enjoyable. We got the fish tacos (great and refreshing, terrific salsa), carne asada (tender, flavorful, great marinade), and cream cheese jalapeno quesadillas (spicy but great). A gem in Hanalei.

Great tacos and burritos in unpretentious food truck. Nice location at entrance to public beach. Definitely would recommend a stop.

Worst tacos ever, so bland and no salsa only pico! Ordered 2 asada and 1 fish. Tortillas were cold and somewhat hard.

Service was great. Food was mediocre. Nothing special. However it was a great grab and go lunch for a beach picnic.

Big Nick's was such a standout spot during our time in Kauai! I ordered the chili pepper chicken…read morebowl, which came with three pieces of juicy, flavorful chicken that had the perfect spicy kick -- not overwhelming, but definitely satisfying. It was served over a scoop of rice and made for such a filling, delicious meal. On the employee's recommendation, we also got the taro wedges, and I'm so glad we did! They were crispy and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and yes... a little oily -- but in the best, indulgent way. The sauce that came with it (not sure what it was!) was SO good and paired perfectly with the wedges. My husband ordered the taro burger, and we both loved it -- it ended up being his favorite vegetarian meal on Kauai! Good to know: there's parking in the back, which is also where the bathrooms are located (just ask for the key). Overall, Big Nick's is a must-try for flavorful, local-style comfort food. Everything we had was delicious, and we'd absolutely come back!

Especially after the super religious chicken barrel spot ran out of chicken and ribs (but not Jesus). The outside patio is nice, with stools, and we saw a rainbow. The end. The sequel! We went back, a 2nd time. My partner's idea. It was still tasty. There are bowls instead of plates, which is less food. I should have gotten that.
