Consistently known as the worst McDonald's in the city, likely the world. I've been going here occasionally for over 25 years, since my dad worked down the street for years and I later lived in the neighborhood. I've been to McDonald's restaurants in third-world countries. They were all much nicer. I give 2 stars instead of 1 because one time they gave me a bunch of extra food they'd made by mistake, and the food tastes like it is supposed to. Once you finally get it. Once they correct whatever mistakes they made. Once you get past at least one panhandler and/or rowdy patron - this includes the drive-thru. DAMN, I am being generous here. read more

This is the only McDonald's in downtown Indianapolis and I can't believe how dirty and slow they are!! Sometimes you need food, fast. Thus we have Fast Food. McDonald's, a one time treat for me as a young boy craving transformer Happy Meal toys, has now become an occasional shameful meal due to pure laziness. Some McDonald's manage to produce food I can enjoy in a nostalgic way. This is not one of those McDonald's. The chicken McNuggets are stale every time, the fries are always limp and lukewarm. The employees are generally... unpleasant at worst, apathetic at best. What do I expect? Not a lot. Stopped in here for some ice cream cones after spending the day at the Children's Museum. We ordered 4 ice cream cones, 1 apple pie and 1 drink. There was no line when we went in. You would think that this would be an easy order that was quickly filled. We waited 10 minutes for that small order. I don't know if they had to milk the cow and hand churn the ice cream or what. Maybe they had to pick the apples and bake it themselves but it was border lining on ridiculous. We finally got our cones and such and sat down. I'm from out of town so I can't confirm whether this was a one off incident or not, but based on other reviews I'm under the impression that this is just how this location operates - other reviews consistently complain about the wait time, but have y'all ever been yelled at? Yes, yelled at. My boyfriend and I were next in line to order when the gentleman over the speaker was sharp and aggressively yelling at the person in the car in front of us; we had assumed that maybe it was a personal matter between them but sure as shit when we got to the speaker we were greeted with "what do you want to order." following with hostile, short replies and being cut off in the process. We were informed once we got to the second window that we were charged for three happy meals (that we did not order) which was followed by the employees yelling at each other before giving us the correct food. Look, it's fast food - I appreciate the man's transparency towards his employment hatred and the woman at window two had a great manicure. Slowest service ever, even during off hours. Don't even try for lunch unless you don't mind waiting 45 minutes for the wrong order. Went through at 9:00pm on a Friday and even after placing my order at the drive thru it took them 20 minutes just to get up to the window and get my food. Very busy location -- service is always polite but tends to be slow. I don't frequent this location -- if I'm jonesing for a Coke Zero or a sausage mcmuffin, I will usually just wait until I get to the Binford location. But, as long as you're patient, it's not as bad as the other reviews would have you think. read more

Filthiest McDonalds in the country I believe. I live downtown so have gone to this location by default for years and it is consistantly dirty, slow and rude!!! I now only go when I am desperate for a quick meal but I will only use the drive-thru. I get so repulsed by the dirty tables inside I lose my appetite so if I use the drive-thru I imagine they have improved inside. I would like to know where the Board of Health is? I would love to have a nice clean McDonalds to grab a sandwhich at and enjoy my meal. read more

Slowest fast food restaurant I've ever been to (including the stereotypical slow ones like Subway), and a hot spot for panhandlers, you unfortunately can't beat the convenience given the lack of downtown fast food options. Keep in mind, never drive off without double checking your order, I've almost never had one 100% right the first time. Most employees are pleasant to downright friendly, but night shift brings out the worst. Straight up didn't care at all about missing a sandwich AND my drink from my order, and also told me the store has never had mayonnaise, because I'm fairly certain she didn't know what it was. That being said, if you can handle the rush at lunch and dinner times and you want something easy and cheap, it's one of your only options downtown. read more

This mcdonalds gets PACKED around lunch time but they handle business at a decent pace. The drive thru line usually wraps around the building and sometimes into the street. It's nice to sit outside at the concrete tables during nice days. You get a variety of people from the city's homeless to business professionals to students to local residents to the medical crowd. People pretty much all mind their own business. read more

The drive-thru line at this location is ALWAYS a train wreck, and especially so after 8pm. On multiple, multiple occasions I've been in line and parked my car for 10+ minutes at a time. Often, it takes me 20 minute to progress from the point of ordering to exiting. Sitting outside the drive through windows for minutes at a time, you get to know the work habits of the people working inside. Needless to say, I've been less than impressed with the amount of hustle observed of the restaurant's staff. Employees standing around on their phone or talking each other, seemingly oblivious that they are the only barrier standing between me and my chicken nuggets + small fry. I've been burned so many times by this place's drive-thru... why don't I learn? Why do I keep coming back? I give all McDonald's a one star because none of them can make a latte. It never fails they always put whip cream and drizzle in my latte or they'll give me a mocha instead of caramel latte. This place is a mess. If you are not starving, I suggest that you do not waste your money buying from this location. The owner is very nasty and rude, the workers are as slow as molasses and cement mixed together. They make you late for work, mess up your order, so you cannot eat breakfast. You bring the wrong order back to them after you get off from work, they tell you to write your name in a book, take your receipt instead of getting a refund, so now you have no proof that you even made a purchase. You come back for your "free order" later in the week, and the manager tells you he can't find your name, then proceeds to ignore you and starts taking another customers order. Needless to say, I will starve or eat rocks before I step foot back in that place. read more

Worst McDonald's on the face of the planet. Always takes forever to even have someone take your order, and it's not abnormal to wait 30 minutes for your food. Filthy lobby, and while waiting for your food you get to have the entertainment of hearing the employees scream at eachother. My order was forgotten and I was served behind several other customers. When the order arrived it was incorrect and was missing the fries. I was hesitant to send the incorrect sandwiches back because of the complete incompetence of every employee behind the counter. The only reason they get 1 star is that the staff at the drive thru said nice things about my dog. First, I had to repeat my order for an iced caramel mocha 4 times at the drive thru speaker. It took more than 3 minutes for the inside person to either 1) understand what I was saying or 2) find it on the register. Now, I realize that there may have been technical issues or that the person was new, etc, but this start did not bode well for the entire transaction. Next, I pull forward to pay, my debit card is swiped, nice things are said about my dog and I move forward. When I get to the pick up window, the young lady in the window asks me "Did you order the large iced caramel mocha?" I confirmed that I did, to which she replies "Our coffee machine is broken." I asked her "are you kidding me?"...she says no and continues to just look at me. I asked for a manager and a refund. I continued to sit in the drive through for probably 2 minutes before I needed to leave. I gave the young lady my business card and asked her to have the manager call me. No apologies, no offers of another drink, no regard for my time that they just wasted. About 3 hours later, I get a call from the manager. She still didn't apologize but simply stated "we have your refund here". I asked her if she couldn't simply just void the transaction. "No, we aren't able to do that...you have to get a cash refund or you can have it put back on your card, but it will take a few days to get back on there." Really? I work retail and I know that voiding a transaction is usually less than a 4 or 5 key process and can be done the same day. So, I asked her if she wanted my card number to issue the refund and she replies "No, we can't do that over the phone, you have to come down here to get the cash or swipe your card". So, let me get this straight...you take my order, take my money, THEN tell me the machine is broken and I can't get what I ordered, make me wait to talk to someone about a refund, fail to apologize at any time and I am supposed to make my way back to your restaurant for $3.91?? You know what...keep it. You obviously need it more than I do. Also, note this...they have never responded on this page to a single review, good or bad. They are simply not listening and, to me at least, that means that they don't really care. read more

I would not go to this establishment ever again - I have grand children and I took my grand son to this McDonalds and I snapped - walk in no smiles no hello and the construction does not make it easy - go in and they knew when they opened that they had no ketchup and did not seem to care - this was breakfast which means that they knew they were out when they closed - I live in Georgia now I worked at Methodist Hospital for over 2 years and I never went there now I know why the service sucks read more

Only gave it a one star because it is required to put something. This McDonald's has the worst service. They also can't seem to get accuracy down pat. They are undergoing a complete makeover. With that being recognized, I went yesterday, ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. I received a sausage biscuit. This, after verifying my order! Then today, I placed my order, pulled up to pay, there is a man in that window dancing with headphones on, tapping on a computer, that does not make eye contact after 4 minutes. So, I think, perhaps they are taking the payment at the next window. So, I pull up. I asked, "are you taking payments up here?" I was met with sarcasm, rudeness and condensation by a man who appeared to be in management. I will NEVER go to this McDonald's, again!
