It's McDonald's why write a review they are McDonald's. Well as a self deemed McDonald's expert each one has it's own personality. This one in Hercules has a remodeled dining room and an efficient staff. The fries are extra salty here so keep that in mind. The shake machine was down which was sad but out of their control. This McDonalds is ok. The service here is alright sometimes in the drive thru it's kinda of slow and they mixed up my order a couple times so make sure you check your order before you leave the window. The inside of the McDonald's is pretty small compare to other places and the service here is ok-ish inside. Of course during breakfast hours it will get packed here especially during the weekends. TIP: Do not come here around 1-4 during the weekdays (end of August-June lol) because that's when you get all the middle and high schoolers coming in here and if you don't want to deal with them then don't come here. This McDonalds does have a playground where your kids can play but it's pretty small compared to other McDonalds playgrounds. The food here is the same it's no different from any other McDonalds in the Bay Area. Other than that 4 stars because it lacks service. I've been to this McDonalds probably 20 times in the past 3 years (unfortunately) and I promise you 0 of those times have I gotten through the line in less than that amount of time. Thank the guy who hands you your change for the overpriced meal you're about to not enjoy? Crickets. Thank the second guy who hands you your (incorrect) order at window #2? Nodda. To be fair, this McDonald's location is unique in one particular way. They have this uncanny ability to be able to get your order wrong. No matter what it is that you order, no matter how far from being able to screw up you think it is, they can (and will), get it wrong. Expect to have to ask, at the 2nd window after you so wisely opened your bag and checked every item, for napkins. After he hands you napkins, you will ask for a straw. After he hands you a straw, ask for your condiment. At this point, you will likely also have to either request your beverage (it is probably sitting next to him on the counter, he just was too absent minded to remember to give it to you - if you point, that usually helps) or request the fry portion of your order. When you finally get home an hour later (best case scenario), too mind-numbed and broken to feel any anger at all, prepare to unwrap your sandwich and find a big old heap of mayonnaise where you very kindly asked and confirmed three times, there would be none. In the end, this place is so bad, your rage can only turn inward. Why did you go again? Why didn't you unwrap the sandwich at window #2 to check for mayonnaise? You really thought checking for a straw, napkins, drink and sauce would be sufficient? Why did you think you could give this McDonald's 90 minutes of your time and $8 from your bank account and get an edible product in return? At what point in your childhood did you develop pathologic masochism? For me, most of these questions are unanswered. I just threw my slimy chicken selects out, the ones that came with no sauce. In-n-out has a secret menu, starbucks has a secret menu, and taco bell has a secret menu, so I decided to look up whether or not McDonald's has a secret menu, and they did! Excited, I went to the closest McDonalds to order a Neapolitan shake from their secret menu. However, when I asked for it, the cashier had no idea what I was talking about. Well, a Neapolitan shake is just chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry blended together, so I asked if I could have that, and she replied that they only serve separate chocolate, separate vanilla, and separate strawberry. After I changed my order to a McFlurry, the cashier asked me what the McDonald's secret menu WAS. I've been to this McDonald's a few times, and the service here is exceptional. They forgot about my McFlurry but to compensate, they gave me a medium instead of a small McFlurry. Business. This McDonald's has potential to be bigger and better.
