Ok... Let me start by saying that I attempt to avoid McDonalds at all cost. Not a fan of the food and, since it's the only quick bite in my small town, I always go somewhere else if at all possible. I went to the McD's in Cpep at the request of my son on a special day. The staff at this McD's were truly some of the friendliest I've ever encountered. They were polite and friendly while taking our order. We then got a number for our table and a staff member SERVED us our food. When we were finished, we cleaned up as usual. It was only when we got to the car that my son realized that he threw away his combination lock that was for his school locker! He was devastated. When we began inspecting the trash can, an employee walked over and said, "No problem! I'll find it!" She looked through the trash, wearing gloves, and searched until the lock was found. She even went into the bathroom to clean it up before returning it to us. As far as McD's go, this one is top notch! read more

Culpeper McDonald's is the best McDonald's.I prefer it over Orange or Madison.Nicer workers and for some reason the food is better.I live in Madison but If I want some McDonald's food I will go out of my and go to Culpeper to get it. read more

Would be a zero if it were an option. I went to McDonalds yesterday to get a milk shake and a plain Sundae. After waiting in line forever, I was told that I could not get a Sundae but could get the shake. Tell me please what is the difference is in putting ice cream in a cup and making a milkshake and putting some in a cup to eat with a spoon to make a little boy happy during these difficult times. read more

I haven't eaten McDonald's in over a year (except maybe three occasions where I really wanted some fries) because I've been eating healthier. I used to be hooked on this junk, but when you step away for a while, you can really taste how gross it is! Anyway, my son got gift cards from his dad's side of the family for Christmas. He wanted me to pick up some hot cakes for him and I went with the grilled southwest salad, which really isn't a bad salad.. Not what McDonald's salads used to look like. The problem for me though, no tomatoes, what is a southwest salad with no tomatoes? Worse, the chicken was clearly undercooked, I am very picky about my chicken because even the slightest pink will tear my stomach apart. I popped it in the microwave before eating, and actually enjoyed a bowl full of romaine and spinach with not too much cheese, actually quite impressed McDonald's. And shocked. You lost points for the undercooked chicken though, and no tomatoes.. Service was nothing special, but nicely paced and no complaints. read more

I go there for times a week and I know what the prices are and the amounts and today they charge me more than ever they did not give me what I wanted in my order and then they charge me $.50 more than I've ever been charged so I'm not satisfied with their service or the fact they argued with me about the cost when I had receipts from the last five days showing what the cost were. read more

I do enjoy the food from McDonald's. But the service isn't always that good. And lately they have been extremely slow and have been messing up orders and forgetting things. It is very aggravating. I love how they have all day breakfast. I like all of the food options. And the deserts are very good. They changed their apple pie. But I think it looks and tastes better. read more

I can't make an educated estimate about this McDonalds, since I wasn't able to be served here. One morning last week I walked inside and stood in line for ca. 5 minutes with half a dozen or so other customers, only to be totally ignored by the staff. Seems that the drive thru customers were their only concern. Eventually I left to take my business elsewhere. read more

This IS NOT fast food. It takes way, way, way too long at the drive-thru. And because it's got a small lot, it could never be turned into a double drive-thru to speed things up. The quality of the food is standard for McDonald's, but it takes too long. I've been made late because it takes two to three times the standard time to get thorough the drive-thru. It doesn't matter what time of day, either. I've gone at non-peak times with similar issues. There are too many other FAST FOOD restaurants in town to go to versus here. read more

Asked the manager at this location in drive thru to change our order to a large and she gave us so much attitude about how she can't because she already entered it when in fact I know they are able too. After saying thank you and pulling away she gave us more attitude and was very rude. I would of given it 0 stars if I could. Very rude customer service and unacceptable. read more

Had to set up help account because McD's survey would not allow such a lengthy review. 27 minutes. 27! Seriously? Drive thru line was so long it went into the main road. Decided to go inside thinking that would be the fastest route. The touch screen freezes on the order screen(not all were even working) several times during what should be a simple order process. Then 27 minutes I wait for my order. Would have been a few mins less because my number was called to the counter but then I still waited while they got the fries. Then they cook more fries and I continue to wait. Then they bring my 2 happy meals and ask what snacks I want. "We'll I ordered extra fries so I hope thats what I got!" No response from manager, just here you go. While getting drinks all I here is "this place is so dirty, what must the kitchen look like?" From several customers. During my 27 minute wait(actual restaurants take less time to cook a real meal) I have never heard so much cussing and people complaining about wait times and comparing their wait times. And then to get same toy in both happy meals when there are 5 options. Wow! Bravo McDonald's, Bravo! You guys are killing it. Last comment I heard most often during this experience was "nobody here cares, they just keep maiking money. What a disappointment" and i heard that from at least 4 different people. Great job stealing our money. I could open a franchise on the other side of town and make twice as much money due to stealing their business and have less efficiency problems. McDonald's for sitting too long now has a free place to eat lunch every Wednesday. The owner of Shawn's Smokehouse BBQ Company, also in Culpeper, reached out to the couple after hearing their story last weekend and offered them a free weekly lunch, Barbara Becker, 81, says. The restaurant's owner, Shawn Moss, says he also plans on starting a "scrunch time," between lunch and dinner, when seniors can sit and chat over free coffee at his restaurant. Carl Becker, 87, a World War II veteran, and his wife Barbara, say they were at the Culpeper McDonald's on Feb. 21 at about 2:30 p.m. when they were approached by the manager. The location is a place the pair has frequented for years. "And he says 'You two are going to have to leave.' He said 'Your half hour is up and we need to clean this floor,'" says Barbara Becker. The restaurant was not crowded at the time, she says, and the two were stunned. This was the first time they had ever been asked to leave a McDonald's. read more

My son accidentally hit the help button on the kiosk, and no joke we are still waiting for our order 30 minutes later and the light is still flashing on the kiosk. McDonald's is one of those companies that has a questionable reputation and establishments like the one in Culpeper, show exactly why. 5 team members were sitting in the lobby, being loud and disruptive, there was a line to the door, one employee was playing with another employees hair (gross!!!) and then helping people! There was NO ONE taking orders for over 10 minutes! They were just standing there. I couldn't even find someone in charge/no manager. Most people don't expect a lot from McDonald's but this is just over the top. So disgusting and disappointing. read more

Glad to see an updated McDs on our road trips to Lake Anna. There are finally new FOOD EXIT signs to warn you that when you're at the RT29 & 3 turnoff that it's almost 3 miles up the road. Order staff is capable but the coordination between all areas is slow going, so be prepared to wait for your food, ice cream, or mixed coffee drinks. Overall it's clean and has TV & Wifi, no too bad for being out in the country. ;) read more

WORST FOOD EVER!!! waited in drive thru for almost 30 minutes. Food was cold and disgusting!

It's not the worst McDonald's and it's certainly not the best. General comments: -Since this is the only McDonald's, in Culpeper, the drive-thru line is usually wrapped around the building. TIP: I get out of my car and order inside. Have always gotten my food in 5 minutes or less. -It's open 24 hours, IN CULPEPER! -They have Wi-Fi. -Service has never been outright bad, but, it's never been good either. -To date: They've only messed up on one order of mine and it was actually to my benefit where they gave me an extra sandwich that I wasn't charged for. -The restroom area is pretty small considering how packed the place gets at times. -Food quality has always been what you would expect of McD's, nothing more nor less. -This is McDonald's in general, not just this one: Ordering inside, they need to make it clearer as to which orders are ready. Order #'s should be highlighted on receipts and should be more visible on to go bags. For those eating in, I think they should take the Hardee's approach of where you put the marker on your table and someone brings it to the table when ready. read more

I was in Culpeper McDonald's this Monday morning. The manager was rude and disrespectful to me. My frappe was full of ice chunks. He tried to give me another one just like it. I wouldn't accept it. I finally got one that was correct after hearing about the machines calibration. He was curt with me and just plain rude. No apology and he acted like I was putting him out! If you visit this McDonald's restaurant, be sure to ask about the WWII Veteran and his wife that they threw out of the store because "they had been at the table for too long". What did McDonald's offer these loyal customers as a way of apologizing? Two coupons for a SMALL CUP OF COFFEE!!!! To the Vet's credit, his wife sent the coupons back, telling Corporate "you must need them more than I do". What a disgrace this restaurant is!! Worst McDonald's that I have every visited. It took me 10 mins to get a sausage biscuit and they even fowl that up. I have visited this place several times but this is my last! Don't eat here unless you think that tossing a bill-paying couple out and offering them two small coffees is "right." Seriously, if McD's gave a hoot about its brand, they would revoke this franchise NOW. So recently the Micky D's here in o'l fell under hard times due to the removal of an elderly couple and gained new management, and it still is no improvement! I am aware this a fast food joint and should not expect too much but the customer service there is not better its worse. Last night for instance we sat in the drive through for almost 30 minutes, 30! We ordered Mc' Fluries by the way. When we finally got to the window I asked what was the hold up, and the associate said some one entered in something wrong. I replied, our Mc' Fluries are probably melted, the associate replied, they probably are, handed us our treats and then closed the window. I'm sorry, but that response was the last straw. Since the new management the place has sunk. No one there gives a damn how the service is, much less the new manager. And this is NOT the first time this has happened. We might still eat here in the future but not for a while. I think McDonald's should look long and hard at who the hire in the future. read more

Giving this place 1 star is too much! Went to drive thru and a lady asked what we would like only to have a mans voice come over hers and tell us to move up, I couldnt there was a car in front of us so he told us TO MOVE UP TO NEXT SPEAKER! I said theres a car in front of us. They finally got moved up so we pulled up to 2nd speaker for the same person who could have already taken our order. When we ordered 1 breakfast sandwich he told us we might as well get 2 because its the same price. He is then irritated that the car he just hung out the window and had a conversation with is still not moved enough for me to pull all the way up to the window, I can tell by him glaring at us. So then Mr. Irritable takes my card and says you had this and this and sweet and spice chicken. I said No I didnt have sweet and spicy chicken he started hitting his ear phone saying he is the one who took the order! I know what you ordered and said No I know what I ordered and I know I didnt I told him to give me my card back and he said he wasnt done I said to give me my card back so finally he did and I drove off. Then they are using comes to block off the 2nd window for some stupid reason and an employee is walking around. This is the crappiest and rudest McDonalds I have ever been to! I cannot believe employees treat their customers like this. Do they not know if they dont have business there will be no hours and if they havent figured out what that means its no pay! I went in with a friend. We sat down to eat dinner, and to have a nice conversation since we had not seen each other in years. As we were eating two children around 6 and 4 maybe were running around the restraunt and screaming. After listening to two children screaming for 10 minutes I went to the counter and asked the 4 people standing around watching the children if I could talk to a manager. A lady pointed to herself and the man next to her. I told her I was having trouble hearing my friend talk because of the noise level. It took her a few minutes to realize it was the kids, then she pointed to the other manager and said it was his. I said can you please do something about the children. They said they are just kids. I said fine ill take my bussiness else where and they said ok. I said something unpleasent, walked out, and was chased out into the parking lot by a woman screaming at me about calling her kids a name, which I did not do. Oh well, so if you eat there, be prepared for ignorance, horrible service and stupidity. Oh and watch what you say or they will chase you down. I will never eat there again. read more
