This one is on the main street in Culpepper, Virginia, and they have a small but clean outdoor seating area with umbrellas--perfect for a quick pit stop with our puppy. We've stopped in here a few times in the past and have never been disappointed. The place is always clean, the staff is very friendly and efficient, and the food is always good. I appreciate how fast the food is ready and that its never full. I've lately been into getting lettuce wraps which makes me feel a little about scarfing down a burger and fries. They make it well and its never sloppy given that its a lettuce wrap. There are also peanuts you can snack on while you wait. Oh and there is malt vinegar to put on the fries - staying true to the DMV traditions. Don't waste your money. I've now just given that location my last chance of redemption. Regardless that I ordered on line before i got there, i still waited almost 30mins to get my meal. By the time i did, the burger wasn't hot and the order was wrong. The fry's were in either old oil? Or burnt .. it sucked. The place was dirty, the staff was hectic, the meals weren't coming out fast at all. Granted, it had looked as if there was a large group that just came through? Regardless, they couldn't keep up and it showed. Ever order came out, the server behind the counter was apologizing.."thank you for your purchase". While I was waiting, I saw (2) orders ahead of me that were 'lost', and had to be redone. One person in a table didn't get his meal until everyone he was with was done. It sucked! I spent almost $50 on (2) burgers, (1) fry, and (2) shakes. Maybe if it was hot and delicious? But it wasn't and is NOT worth the money. I will never go to this location again. This 5 Guys seems to have it together! They are quick, friendly, and even the to-go service is on point. We ordered online (which is free, without the price markups like in DoorDash) and had our food delivered. It was perfectly wrapped and expertly placed in the bag. Ordering to-go hack: request the toppings "on the side" to keep the bun from getting soggy. We've ordered burgers & fries to-go from this location many times since moving here. Always friendly service, order is always correct, restaurant is always clean. They don't always cook the fries as long when they're busy, causing them to be greasy & soggy. Sometimes they're also over salted. Always eatable, just sometimes are better than others. Major bummer this location doesn't offer shakes! read more

The food is a bit expensive, but compared to what you can buy from another burger, fast-casual, or fast-food restaurant for the same price, I would say Five Guys is a far better deal. The custom drink machine and endless peanuts are always a delight for the family. They dump fries into the bag to make you feel like you got a deal, which is always nice. And, surprisingly, the milkshakes are possibly a better selling point than the burgers! If you haven't tried Five Guys or their new milkshake, you should give it a go! I will not be returning after a number of disappointing burgers here. Last visit, I got a cheese burger to go. The bun was burnt and soggy. The cheese was cold and not melted. The tomato was not good. I cannot understand why the cook just didn't throw out the burnt bun instead of serving it to me. I am done with this location. Stopped in for a quick bite to eat on the way home. My wife who is gluten free, had her own bread with her. I asked if they could make her hamburger with it, they are not allowed to bring anything behind the counter. No problem, I can understand that. The gentlemen, wish I got his name. Brought all the fixing to the counter and made the hamburger for her right there. My wife really enjoyed it. I had the little hamburger, it was great. Very juicy and made exactly how I like it. Five Guys makes some of the best burgers around. The menu is minimal but well done. We get the small cheeseburgers because they are so filling. Everybody likes the automated coke machine with more than 80+ choices. Fries are awesome. Peanuts while you wait. Burgers made to order. The chain has done a great job since the original store opened in Arlington VA of keeping the standards high. This is a very clean store, with a clean restroom. For out of town travelers: I found the yelp - google map connection off for this location. Five guys is what it is. a nice greasy burger that's good. The only issue I have is that they aren't enforcing masks or cleaning between customers. Came in for my lunch break, there were four people in a group ahead of me and none of them had masks on and coughing. Culpeper's Five Guys has always been great, but has really gone above and beyond any previous expectations since their renovations last year. One of the new add-ons has been making milkshakes, which are AMAZING! The staff is always very friendly and they stick to their guaranteed wait time (~8 minutes max) very well. read more

This review is long overdue, but better late than never. I was in Culpeper with a film crew and everything had gone way overtime. I had to feed the crew and everything was closing. 5 minutes to 11 (when they usually close) I called Five Guys and spoke to a wonderful woman, who promised that they could still cook me some food even if I was late. I drove like a crazy person to get there on time and the woman even called me to make sure I could find it! (WHOA!!!) I arrived well passed 11 and everyone there - Deborah, Rebeka and Chris were all so accommodating, cheerful and really, really helpful! They all choose to stay more than 40 minutes longer to help me out and saved my night - all in high spirits! That is service beyond what I have EVER experienced in any super fancy expensive New York restaurant. My five stars go out to the dream team: Deborah, Rebeka and Chris!! read more

Like their name indicates, they are all about the burgers and fries. They have perfected these items and they mean business. Portions are sizable, which means huge. Be prepared to get messy eating a burger here. If you don't like juice running down your arms, this may not be the best choice for you! Haha. It's a chain burger place. I call ahead about once a week. Burgers, hot dogs and fries is my standard order. They burgers are good, fries in abundance but what wows me, is the folks that work there. They are fast and clean and remember your name when you walk in. I know that all it takes is a few of them to move on for it to go to three stars but right now, the crew they have in there makes this chain place stand out for my family. read more
